I watched 2 other videos before coming here. It was so confusing as one person did it using a similar technique as you. The other person after slipping did one stitch as a knit and the second slipped stitch as a purl. I was totally confuses so decided I needed a third to clarify as to who was correct. What is the difference between this and knitting two stitches together?
This is essentially knitting through the backs of the stitches. K2tog knits through the fronts.

K2 fog is a right leaning decrease and SSK is a left leaning decrease
