I’m really filled with hatred for this fandom lately. Time and time again, they judge her this season. Like how!? I’m 100% sure I would turn into Blodreina if I was in her shoes. She has no one. Atom died, Lincoln died, Ilian died, Jasper died. Then she reunites with her dependable older brother just to see him with the woman who killed countless people and attempted to murder Octavia. She was forced to suddenly change her role to a leader and somehow group together many clans that hate each other. I also see comments all the time(about her way of ruling and cannibalism) saying “she should of found a different way” “she didn’t explore every option like Bellamy and Clarke do”. How do you know she didn’t? Think about it. Most of the people in there were grounders and only ever responded with violence. It’s obvious since Lexa did the same with the whole “blood must have blood” thing. By creating the arena, she reduced traitors and the population in the bunker. Food wise... how else would they eat?! They had no other source of food down there. Octavia has stayed like this because in my opinion, she thought that her old self was the reason she was losing everyone, in a way. The memories of her old self just automatically got tied with Lincoln. If she became a whole different person, then it would be fine in her eyes. She wouldn’t have to remember things. Just “you are Wonkru or you are the enemy of Wonkru”.

This showed her development so well. All the parallels were put together so well. She’s a powerful, heartbreaking, dynamic character who has changed so much and you portrayed her so well. This is truly an amazing edit.

Octavia is one of those characters who I don’t necessarily like but I certainly respect her. I don’t enjoy her actions but she is still one of my favourites because she is such a complex character.

Since season 5 started, I have not liked the new Octavia. But I have realized that Octavia becoming Blodreina isn't her fault. She was alone for six years and after watching this video, I remembered what Octavia has been through. Octavia had to make hard choices in order for Wonkru to survive. I do not agree with her fighting a war on the last survivable land on Earth and I am still undecided if I like the fact that she burned the crops Monty grew. I believe that if she hadn't burned down those crops then Wonkru would've broken apart and they would never get the land from Mcreary. However, I hate the fact that she took away Wonkru's choice. Honestly, I always loved Octavia and I regret that it took me all these episodes of season 5 to realize that she is different and I and other Octavia( if they want to) should accept her for who she is. Other than the fact that she took away Wonkru choice, I have no problem with the new Octavia so HAIL BLODRIENA
Honestly, I love Madi as commander but I am worried about what she is going to do about the people who remains faithful to Blodreina. Also, if the clans separate will the clans be a war with each other. Because as soon as Blodreina became sick everyone instantly turned against each other but stuck together for Blodreina's sake. So if Madi separates the clans, I think war on the last living land on Earth isn't the only war.
Overall, I now love Blodreina, sort of and I am curious about what is going to happen if the clans are separated. Will there be war or not?
She took away the choice of the farm because she did not want to rely on it again. After the Dark Year she did not trust they should rely on it. She may have been wrong but she had good reason. If it had failed again they would be in a very bad position and their enemy would of had months if not years to fortify.
The only bad part about fighting was the idea to use the worms. That was just a very bad idea. Her only truly bad idea.
Commanders don't keep the clans together. So it only makes sense they will divide, especially with a planet to go to. Only BlodReina can keep them together. Commander are religious figure heads really. BlodReina is an Empress.
I think it is only natural that many will want her to be in charge still. They know she can keep them alive, keep them strong. Many may also like having different clans together. So Wonkru may become a new clan, with other clans separated based on traditional lines.
I'm looking forward to that moment when they have the Commander, WanHeda, and The BlodReina standing together against a mutual enemy.

You really capture how dynamic and complex she is! 'll never understand the hate she gets. Almost every character has done awful things on the show yet fans paint Octavia as evil because they don't even try to understand her...can't relate!

What angered me is you see this same thinking with the characters of the show too. The idea that Clarke would be on the bridge to discuss humanities future after she just betrayed them was infuriating. She is partly responsible for them being massacred at the Gorge. Yet Bellamy forgives her. WHAT! Only because of that and Madi is she even there. Octavia should have beaten Clarke senseless as soon as she had the opportunity.

Great tribute! You really showed her development and I still love Octavia. I may not agree with some of her decisions but I cannot bring myself to hate her as character. I have loved her since the pilot episode and I still do, she is one of my top favs of the whole show. And her character development.. Dang.. That is so much more worth that the 'mistakes' she made (just like any othe character in this amazing and dynamic show
I'm so sorry for Octavia. She deserved better. When Lincoln died she died too. Her humanity died. Her feelings died. But anyway she never stopped to fight. I really love her. She is my favorite character

Im so fucking angry with Octavia fans lately they see her as a evil crazy power hungry person this season well let me tell you something in season one she had to live her whole life under the floor or her mother would be floated and finally the one day she got to leave the room she was happy for only a few minutes when the guards came and they found out about her then her mother got floated and she was locked up feeling like it was her fault all of this happen why her mom is dead only a few years later she was forced on a ship to earth and found her first love attom i think was his name only for him to die from acid fog then Lincoln came along she found something with him That she would never find in a another person but then came season two she lost Lincoln and spends a lot of time looking for him and during that she found out her friends have been captured and during that she found Lincoln he was turned into something and she had to shoot him awhile later she thought she was going to lose him and she couldn't even think about it and after she got Lincoln back she got her friends back too......then came season 3 she and Lincoln have some time apart (i guess) only to watch pike put a bullet in his brains....right that moment she lost the little bit of hope she had left and to make matters worse it's partly her brothers fault then she made friends with (forgot his name) only to kill him off then season 5 she wasn't ready to be commander she said it herself she was forced to become Bloodreina she had to do what had to be done she carried the burden of it so no one else had to only to have everyone to turn agasint her but not Miller love him for it and everything she did was for EVERYONE not just the people she loves unlike what everyone else did even madi thinks everything Octavia did was for the best Octavia has been through so much she went from being the girl from the floor to Bloodreina
P.S.sorry if you can't understand this my phone is a little glitchly and i cant type right sometimes and i wish i could of explained more of what happened to Octavia but i really cant

If Kane had his way, they'd all die in the bunker. And still he has the nerve to judge OCTAVIA for this, even though it was his lover who on and on again indoctrinated Octavia cannibalism was the only way to survive. Octavia didn't chose to rule, that was a role forced upon her after she wanted to save all of them, all tribes. Only reason Octavia burned the farm was so they would never have to chose between death and cannibalism ever again.

She burned the farm because she didn't want to rely on it again. Relying on it lead to the Dark Year. If it failed again. They would be in a bad position again. Also the Valley would have months to years to fortify. Taking the Valley made the most since for survival.
The only things she did wrong after was the idea of using the worms.
Bellamy is so full of bs. He came in, judged her, took a "side" without ever attempting to see her point of view.

Also Monty was able to revive the dead earth again with his power mix. They had future on Earth. At least it would be also smarter to kinda sneek in with a few than to come with an army which only presented themselfes to get killed between this cliffs.
They had the plans of the enemeys positions. They already had people in the valley. She just decided to kinda run into the crossfire. I love her but that was dumb
I actually think the worms would be a great Idea. They said that they would die after a few days after using them. Their would be no damage to the nature. Problem sloved.
Bellamy and the others ruined that.
That guy who could kill 300 Grounders just out of paranoia now is a liberal snowflake.
That was her original plan, to leave Harper and Monty there. She told him in the farm if he wants it, he can have it but she was taking her people to war. The moment Monty made staying there a choice that seemed viable to the group, she had to destroy the farm because she didn't trust it to sustain her people. She could not allow for defection that would cause more problems, which people started to do as soon as Monty showed his plants in the arena. So she destroyed the farm so they would all have no choice but to march. If they started arguing or if too many decided to stay they would lose the Valley. If Monty had stayed quiet he could have had his alternative, after she won the Valley if people wanted to go there she would let them.
Since there was only three ways into the Valley. Going with a small amount would not have worked. Those three spots would be heavily defended so one would need numbers to combat those defenses. Then with the pillboxes this made that possibility even less possible. The small group that was in there already (SpaceKru) was there because the Eligius people flew them there they didn't come in through the passes.
The reason they got killed between the cliffs was because of Clarke,, Diyoza, and Kane betrayals. Had Clarke not told them about the Eye being on a loop, and Diyoza and Kane didn't tell them about their plans of attack they would have succeeded with far less deaths. Remember the plan was to draw the enemies away from the cliffs but they not only didn't redraw but put more people there because they knew they didn't have to watch the other openings to the Valley. So that isn't on Octavia that is on Clarke and Kane. (This is why McCreary made Kane listen to Wonkru being killed on the walkie talkie.)
Worms could do a great deal of damage to the wildlife in a few days. Imagine how many animals they could effect. With no idea how much wildlife has survived that is risky. And there is no way to be certain they would all die in a few days. Many invasive species have been brought to an environment because someone thought the creature wouldn't be a problem or not last for long, only to become an ongoing pest, or destroying Eco-systems. Being the only Valley left on the planet none of these scenarios are a risk one should take. It was a desperate move.
Bellamy is the same he has always been. He and Clarke choose a side then think they are always right. The only difference is he isn't paranoid anymore. Which is a good thing. I don't see how not being paranoid makes him a "liberal snowflake".

There is no more saving. You know for a fact you wouldn't continue to side with her after all she has done if this was actually the real world and were part of Wonkru. She turned into a lunatic and alienated all her friends and her mentor/ mother, Indra.
Her only turning point was the farm. She threw it away. There is no forgiveness for what is to come. Any person with half a conscience would take leave after the war if they survived doing what she has done. But her people are going to take her out anyway. Can't wait for that.

Nah, I just don't have my head up her ass like her fandom does. That's the one thing wrong with the 100. Too many fanboys who don't judge a character by their actions, like people in real life. Shes murdered innocent people, took away every choice they had so she can keep going to war. Everyone person with a brain on the show is against her. Why keep defending her? Because you feel bad she had to shoulder the burden of the fighting pits and eating the losers to survive? She's selfish. Only wants to make herself feel better by leaving the bunker and the choices she made behind. Meanwhile her people wanted to stay and not go to war.
I would side with her if I had the same information to go on as I do in the show. She did what was necessary for everyone to survive in the bunker. She did take on the burden. The other leaders knew the same things she did. Yet they didn't take that burden. Kane denied reality, then years later after being broken went against her again. Abby wallowed in self pity and did drug rather than face her part in the Dark Year. Indra blames her but stayed quiet because she knew it had to be done.
Everyone of them judge her now, yet each one knew it was needed. They didn't want to stand up and take that burden, so she was strong and did so. That is why, Miller, Cooper and so many were willing to stay with her after the new Commander came. Because they knew she did what was necessary for Everyone.
What innocent people did she murder? Only those that did crimes where sent to the arena. This was pointed out multiple times. And it allowed for keeping the numbers down, and in the Dark Year provided protein.
The only choice taken away was the farm. She didn't want to rely on the farm because if it failed her people would be in a similar situation as the Dark Year and the Valley would have months if not years to fortify. The Valley was the best decision for Everyone to survive.
Octavia is the only selfless leader this show has ever had. She only acted in ways that protected everyone. The moment she saw she couldn't lead after the Gorge she bowed to Madi. Because she knew that was the only way to take the Valley. So her people would survive.
As for people with a brain being against Octavia. The girl with a Super Computer with the memories of Countless Commanders was on her side. Even Diyoza, her enemy saw how amazing a leader she was during and after. Everyone else had agendas.
I hated her this season she was so power hungry
She was completely selfless. Everything she did was for the survival of EVERYONE. The best example to refute this "power hungry" stance is the lost at the Gorge. As soon as they made it back to camp she turns around and bows to Madi. No hesitation. No one had to prompt her or beg her. Power hungry people don't do that. She bowed because she knew it was the only way the people would advance again. Because taking the Valley was the best thing for all her people. Not having her power.
