Roger Staubach is my favorite Dallas Cowboys player of all-time!!! He led the Cowboys to four Super Bowls and did y’all know he played at Navy and won the Heisman Trophy. He is still a living legend who resides in Dallas today.
A winner in both the NFL and in life. A true American hero who proudly served his country in war. I remember so many games when it seemed hopeless in the 4th qtr and he somehow he pulled it off--- in big playoff games no less.
"Roger The Doger" was as good as any NFL quarterback that ever lived. There are so many great quarterbacks to chose from now. How can one measure such a thing to say this one is better then then all the rest. But, Roger is as much a contender as any of them.🏈⭐🇺🇸
An off-the-field memory is Roger with other players and commentaries on an NFL Sunday show and everyone was toasting and Roger had a glass of milk, only one. Why I remember that I don't know, but that's Roger.
MANNNNNNN!!! I JUST STUMBLED ON TO YOUR CHANNEL AND I AM SO THANKFUL FOR YOU MAKING THIS CONTENT!!! I AM ONLY A MINUTE AND 22 SECS IN AND I WANT TO SAY THAT - I AM 55 YRS OF AGE AND I STILL THINK OF STAUBACH TO THIS DAY...... MAY GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER - I AM GOING TO SIT BACK AND ENJOY - START FROM THE BEGINNING - AND ENJOY THIS CONTENT
When was in elementary school in Dallas Roger, Drew ,Tom, and I believe Danny all came to our school and spent part of the day with us. Roger Staubac is more than just a great QB. He was an all around roll model. And showed love respect to all people
This is NOT the template for the greatest NFL quarterback. This is the Temple for the greatest human being who had the privilege to play in the NFL. A wonderful man, a soldier and an example for all youth who would even like to play the position. Simply put...An officer,, a gentlemen and one hell of a good football player. To this day, he still defines what it means to be at the helm of the Dallas Cowboys.
As a Washington fan, I was blessed to watch Roger play at least twice a year. He remains one of my favorite QBs. I just wish he'd had less success vs my team. :)
He's still no.2 behind Otto Graham all-time. They are the 2 most complete QBs who could pass, ball carry, make plays, lead & win all at the top level. Keep in mind Staubach lost 4 years due to his commitment to the Navy which included a Viet Nam tour.
Great highlights! You're EXACTLY right. I remember shortly before retiring, Staubach passing Graham in passer rating for #1 (though I notice some "revisionist" history/stats to reverse this) He remains a hero of mine AND a role model. A great Christian, Husband, & Father and SMART- big real estate guy & remember him hawking those Anderson Little suits??? Good ol' days. Can you imagine CAPTAIN AMERICA kneeling for the flag/anthem?? Best ever. Thanks for posting.
@@dukewilson14 Plus they started all the complicated pre-snap motion and complicated pass routs and blocking schemes. They were truly innovative. I remember watching my Patriots play them and think, how the Pats looked like a bunch of amateurs compared to them. When Tom Landry and Roger Staubach came out of the tunnel you knew we were screwed!
I'm not a young guy and I've seen many many folks in various sporting activities . Wihtout a doubt Staubach was the first athlete to really catch my attention , the second was Dale Earnhardt (who some will say wasn't an athlete) and the third was Manny Pacquiao . Everyone has a right to who they choose as their favourites those three are mine plain and simple .
Namath? Pleaseeeeeee. WE all know that if Roger started his NFL career at 22 instead of 27 we would be speaking of the greatest QB to ever play the game. The only names that should be mentioned with #12 are Montana, Brady and Unitas. If you like me grew up being a Cowboy fan in the 70's. Roger hung the moon...Still does.
as far as Dallas Cowboy history, from 1960-1989, because ANYTHING or anyone associated with Jerry Jones after those years were NEVER anything about Dallas other than the hostile takeover that made them the biggest jokes from 1990-present…Staubach was best ever in Dallas followed closely by Danny White…”Boy” Aikman was part of the ‘Dallas Hurricanes’…nuff said
Arguably the best QB of the 70's????? Unquestionably the best and one of the best to ever play period.

Yep still here in Dallas in my hometown!
He was a fan favorite in Dallas
Did you know he got beat twice against Pittsburgh in two Superbowls lol
I learned about American football emigrating from the Netherlands in 73. The name that stuck to my mind: Roger Staubach. Impressive.
Roger Staubach my favorite Cowboy of all time
Mine too, without a doubt. There will never be another like him.

The country's best player in the country's best team! Cpt America, Cpt comeback, Roger the dodger!! 😂👍
The 1970’s was a great decade for the NFL and nobody did it better than Roger Staubach... Captain Comeback and America’s Team
The greatest quarterback of all time the template for great quarterback His legend his beyond belief
Kind of like what Nolan Ryan was to baseball as a pitcher. But I always liked Roger better because I was more of a football fan.
I was really hurt when Staubach retired 😞
He is still the greatest in my estimation of Quarterbacks 👍🙂
Agreed 👍🏾 💯
I agree Staubach was my childhood hero
the phrase Hail Mary was used for passing when I was a kid,I remember ysiugit, when Meradth was playiungsi way befre Staubach,
They were never out of the game with Roger at the helm
An off-the-field memory is Roger with other players and commentaries on an NFL Sunday show and everyone was toasting and Roger had a glass of milk, only one. Why I remember that I don't know, but that's Roger.
A true warrior who made his fans an team mates believe...Anything is possible ! A legend well deserving of the term !
Yeah winning two Super Bowls, coming off the bench to beat the 49ers in 1972, and the Hail Mary play would inspire that belief among teammates.
Staubach#12 and Pearson#88 = #100% win win combination

Glad you like it, a lot more videos to watch and a lot more coming out in due time.
@@dukewilson14 YES SIR!!!
That was my team as a boy. Loved Roger, Drew Pearson, Calvin Hill, Bob Hays and Ed Too Tall Jones.
He was the Best!

Happy 80th Birthday to
the greatest all-around
QB in NFL history.🏈
Absolutely!
If you think Roger could throw a great football pass, you should have seen him throw a baseball from deep centerfield with a runner on third.
Great video. 👏Still have a vintage poster of him.😃
As a Washington fan, I was blessed to watch Roger play at least twice a year. He remains one of my favorite QBs. I just wish he'd had less success vs my team. :)
An old Cowbows fan
He had a cannon for an arm
A NFL Quarterback God .

Staubach 95-35 win loss record.
Aikman 94-71.
No comparison

Roger Staubach was how the Cowboys basically invented the modern passing game that you're seeing now.
Cowboys were the first team to use the shotgun formation, unless you count the 49ers who used for a few games previously before scraping it.

These are the kinds of videos Dak Prescott needs to be watching.

3? You're lowballing that! Try 10x

@@PaulRobert474 so you are saying he’s more than 3x better?
Staubach is a genuine top 10 quarterback of all time. Namath isn't even top 50 and should NOT be in the Hall of Fame.
4 times!
Rodger Dodger captain comeback the star in star for the cowboys #qb #Starbuch
3:23
Soooooo much better than Terry Bradshaw 🥶💯
Staubach was the MOST dangerous QB ever. Captain Comeback, Captain America, "Roger the Dodger".
Dud Prescott isn't fit to carry Roger's shoes.....
Cool!!!!!!!!!
I'd take Staubach over Aikman, Meredith or any other Dallas QB
No doubt about it.
Im taking dak prescott
@@manny5608Y'all remember the 4 QB "MT Rushmore" the Cowboys had a few years ago?
The narration doesn’t align with the video

I'll take Roger Staubach over Tom Brady EVERYDAY of the week.
and three times on Sunday. Difference between a grown man ... and not.
USNA Commanders don't slide.
Lmao Captain comeback couldnt comeback twice against Pittsburgh in two Superbowls lol
Where's the TD pass the biden????
