Eddie, I don’t know if you realized this but when you got the medallions each one represented the characters we’ve meet so far. Medusa: Virginia, Icarus: Allen, Minotaur: Max, and Cyclops: Lucas

as someone who is schizo- i noticed that eddie started reacting to that weird man that keeps popping up that we don’t know yet (as far as im into the video) exactly how i now react to my body figured hallucinations- for the first while its fear & being scared as it pops up & then it turns into anger & being annoyed. the one part where eddie becomes full screen & screams from anger felt so familiar lmao. being desensitized to being jumpscared by hallucinations is a wild thing

This game is wild. Apart from Allen, who has been inspired by the myth of Icarus, I never realised the others were inspired by other Greek myths.
Virginia, like Medusa was once "Beautiful" but ended up disfigured by their personal tragedies (a mirror fell on top of Virginia while Medusa was raped). And much like her Mythical counterpart, ended up lashing out a anyone that would look directly at her.
Max is like Asterius (the Mythical Minotaur). Both being trapped in a "Maze" (an actual one for Asterius. Max was lost within his own anger) and being slaves to their rage-filled natures. Unable to be helped because THAT is the way they are as individuals.
Then Allen and Max's stories being linked not just from the story point of view but also from the Mythological point of view becomes a given. Afterall, Daedalus (the man who made the famous Labyrinth in which the Minotaur is trapped) is the father of Icarus. Thus, one can argue that the incident which ended up being the downfall of both Max and Allen can be considered the "Father" of their deaths.
Finally, the story of Lucas makes allusion to the cyclops Polyphemus who, while going on about his own day, ended suffering greatly (being blinded by Odysseus) and due to his own lack of proper understanding of the truth (not knowing the real name of the man that blinded him, instead referring to him as "Nobody") was ignored by the other cyclopes. In the same way, Lucas suffered from a conspiracy, but without proper understanding of what was going, along with the lack of proof, ended up being written off as "delusional".
Another thing the game did splendidly was that Medusa the gorgon, Icarus, and Asterius the minotaur all ended up dead in their own stories. But much like Lucas' own fate in the game, the fate of Polyphemus the cyclps is left unclear.

Some things I've noticed during this play through:
1. Each of the medallions represents each of Desmond's patients and in the order you defeat them, as well as the different greek myth monsters correlating to each patient respectfully and defining their fears and weaknesses as those monsters with similar designs and mechanics (which I gotta say is absolutely fucking amazing character design and storytelling like how did they come up with that its fucking brilliant)
2. Due to the boat crash the Agent Rainbow chemical contaminated the water supply, leading to people that drank tap water ( referenced from a newspaper found earlier) to experience awful side effects which had caused Virginia to stab herself, Allen to essentially catch himself on fire, and Max to ram his truck into a building. AND since Rosemary said that those on A.R are in a collective hivemind its possible that those who have died their "monsters" are still alive with the exception of Rosemary who used her "brain waves" to contact Lucas and Desmond to end A.R before/ after she died.
3. Eddie sucks at puzzles ;)

My father has PTSD. He had a traumatic childhood and is a Veteran. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is different for everyone, some may cause the person to have feelings of anxiety, depression, or explosive anger. These are just a few examples, for anyone wondering. I've been feeling pretty low lately but Eddie never fails to make me smile. Have a nice day everybody. 💖
As someone who was recently diagnosed with PTSD it really sucks, I hope your father is doing okay.
I was rejected from the Australian army for having PTSD and I can agree it sucks. But a message for your father, keep going mate "1 1/4 mile at a time"

The medallions are each of the 4 people he helped
Medusa = she cant look at herself
Icarus = he flew to close to the sun
Minotaur = full of rage
The cyclops = have one eye of horror
Which the first person he help she hates looking at herself, the second was terrified of the dark, the third was full of rage and the last has one eye full of a Horrifying pass.

hey so there are some hidden fragments of his therapy conversation hidden around the map if you'd ever wish to revisit it. you can find them by using your radio and looking around untill you get a green interception

My dad still deals with his combat PTSD, which he's been dealing with my whole life. I was born the year he got back from the Gulf in '92. Then I was recently diagnosed with PTSD/C-PTSD from childhood trauma, an assault from college, and medical trauma. It's so very isolating and while he's gotten so much better (YEARS of exposure and intensive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and my depression from things got better with TMS therapy, it's a daily struggle. I find new triggers all the time, still trying to find a therapist that takes fucking insurance & doesn't treat me like I'm crazy. He got his through the VA and he got incredibly lucky to find one that knew what he was doing and gave two shits about my dad. Fucking VA is awful. Seeing these issues I & my family have struggled with being transformed into the game is so interesting. It gives a perspective for those who don't know & it's either relatable or it's how someone else visualizes their own experience.
Dude this was so raw I have family that is in the military or was and they also felt like they weren’t human. They were more like a war machine if that makes any sense with no feelings, or they have to deal with the government said to do.
Thanks so much for playing for us and thank you again editor for working so hard so that we can enjoy watching the games that he plays. I really appreciate it. Can’t wait for more.

Here are some observations/theories of mine after watching this:
- First off, I feel as though Lucas is also suffering from survivor's guilt along with the PTSD. We saw in that little "prayer" he wrote in the chest for his vinyl he mentioned something relating to an "accident" occurring. In his song, it makes note of him and his friends gradually splitting up over time on the front, no doubt from the Hell that is war, and I would have to guess everything crumbled to pieces after a fight or ordeal between them - with him not being able to make amends for anything that was said or to bring their comradery back.
- Those specters are either the souls of allies that died on his watch and blames himself for, or are something representing the friends he mentioned - cause we can tell he in way probably talks to them as though they're there as a sort of coping mechanism.
- Eddie wasn't actually fighting the four patients themselves, rather their "inner demons" formed from their past traumas, personality, and mental state. Lucas's I feel wasn't entirely just based on himself, but also his father as it was noted in his files that the reason he joined the military was to follow in his father's footsteps. This goes into how the creature in its final throes told Desmond "They all dismiss me... just a crazy old man..." - which I could be wrong, but Lucas doesn't sound all that old. And with timeframe the story takes place, it'd be safe to assume that Lucas fought in the Vietnam War with the placement of it. And with that, it'd be safe to assume his father fought either in the Korean War or sometime near the end of WW2 (thinking on it, I'd bet his father was one of the soldiers that fought in the Pacific with the nuclear detonation we saw in that one bit).
- Fun fact, but the agent rainbow aspect of the story may hold relations to, or be inspired by in terms of naming, a real life chemical weapon used in the Vietnam War called "Agent Orange - a herbicide used by the military to clear out the jungles there where enemy soldiers may try to hide in. The aftermath of exposure to it, though, led to a number of problems to such individuals and anyone connected to them.
- Other Greek mythos references that some may not know:
+ Pandora Hotel - Pandora's Box
+ Elysium State Park - "Elysium" is the name of the paradise afterlife of Greek mythology. I feel as though this may be alluding to how the quiet of nature probably helped provide some peace to his mind
+ Minos Quarry - Minos was a greek king, and is in fact where the "mino" in minotaur comes from
+ S.S. Thanatos - it was described in one of the notes found in Allen's world as "that ship is death, it bears death's name". Thanatos is the greek god of Death (before anyone starts, Hades is the god of the underworld and the dead, meaning he just tends the afterlife - he doesn't cause or collect the deaths.
+ Eden's Grove - not a greek reference, but I feel like it may be alluding to how perfect things were in Eden for Adam and Eve. As Eddie noted in that video, she felt much better there due to there being less people there. With Homa-mart coming in, it had a similar feel to when man was ousted from the Garden of Eden

We definitely need the next episode, I’ve been watching this series sense you started it and I still don’t understand how this game isn’t getting more attention. All the vinyl’s are so beautiful and creative too.

I got really into these songs and I was exited that ‘‘tis one wouldbe about ptsd
his file and other things said he delt alot with radios which makes me think he was likely an RTO or radio operator as myself, another thing that makes me think this is the first note I belive Eddie finds says the radio guys life expectancy is 5 seconds, especially during wars like Vietnam a rtos life expectancy wasn't very long because they'd have to poke there heads up more to give coordinates or reports which caused them to be killed more likely where the ptsd comes from and the monster is likely related to the radio aspect of his military career, the words the monster used were mostly radio etiquette such as "over, out", and others I can't think of right now lol but that would also explain why it sounded like his voice was coming through a radio plus i absolutely love watch eddie play games like this, he always seems to put alittle more thought into his theories than other people and is always more composed, love watching your videos man keep it up
