Eddie. the reason the old man died was due to the fact you reacted. all 3 answers were bad and you had to wait out the timer. (he said so immediately before) This type of trap puzzles are always in games like these and also very often in indie horror games, however they tend to make them less obvious.

@@Heinrk yeah i get that and don't get me wrong its clever but we've been conditioned by games for so long that A. if you don't pick a choice its gonna be bad, B. that if you don't pick something the game picks one for you or in this case C. your giving the choice now so i should be ok to pick it now
