If we watch back to the very first episode, the first time we see the Wildlings and the Others, we see a 'dead' child pinned to a tree. We know that in the show the White walkers communicate by the laying out of the dead in symbolic patterns. The dead child hooked on a tree is a msg - the children and the wierwood net.
The White Walkers make their first appearance in E01 S01, so whatever their reason for returning is, it has to do with something that happened before the story begins. That rules the dragons out, for starters. So it may have to do with the birth of a particular character in the story, but only if there's a way of knowing about it, because the White Walkers cannot pass the wall and they probably don't communicate with people in Westeros by sending ravens. That leaves warging/greensight. There's only a handful of characters that have that ability in the show: Jojen Reed, The Three-Eyed Raven and Bran Stark. Jojen and the Three-Eyed Raven are dead, that leaves Bran. Why did the Night's King attack the cave and kill the Three-Eyed Raven? To produce a few more wights? Obviously killing the Three-Eyed Raven was important to him. Now Bran is the Three-Eyed Raven and my guess is that is what the Night's King is after. As to why, well, for some reason greensight/warging has something to do with it. What exactly can a greenseer do that other people can't? Look into the past, see what actually happened, as opposed to what is written down in books. What this boils down to is, that what is written in the books cannot be trusted, it may have been altered to hide something that happened in the past. If there is someone who can see what really happened, then it will become evident that the books are lying about past events. How do you prevent that from happening? Kill the guy who is bound to find out. We've already seen an example of this. Robert's Rebellion was a lie, Rhaegar Targaryen never abducted Lyanny Stark and guess who found out? And there's a big lie lurking in the past that we are not aware of yet, and that will be the final twist.
White walkers appearing and white walkers marching on south are different things. The question is why they are now marching south? What triggered them to march instead of hanging out, collecting children?
Why is the Night King marching south? Simple. When he grabbed Bran, he tapped into the network and saw a small tavern down the road, with numerous customers, all speaking excitedly and happily. Hot Pie's famous pies. They are the only thing to truly satiate a man's desires.
"A vilain is a hero of the other side" said GRR Martin. That's why I don't believe that the NK has evil motives to come south. I think the broken Pact is the most likely. And maybe that's the key to end this War. With an other pact, but this time it will last forever. About the first you said. I don't think it will happen, since there is only one season left with 6 episodes, so there is no time to introduce an other vilain.
Michele Helbacka You really have a point. But still I can't imagine that the NK has only evil motives. GRRM doesn't seem like a rider that creates an other evil vilain as usual
Hmmm if you idiots want to turn it political... wouldn't the Others and the Night King be Illegal aliens? They literally destroyed the wall to invade territory they weren't allowed into.
I think that the Night King is a direct antagonist to the Valyrians, as our two main characters stem from the Valyrian bloodline. If you think about it, the Valyrian race developed right after the first long night, and it seems that almost everything about their magic (The dragonglass, the dragons themselves, the Valyrian steel swords, and the fire that seems intrinsically linked to all their spells), it seems like they're the antidote the Night King & his army. Additionally, prophecy forewarns that Azor Ahai would come from the blood line of Rhaella & Aerys, which further substantiates the theory that the Valyrians are essentially a weapon to be used against the others. Perhaps that's why he's back, there are two extremely powerful Valyrians (Jon & Dany) who have been growing in both power & influence simultaneously along with the Night King, which would tie into the Daenerys theory. Maybe this is why the doom of Valyria occurred, perhaps the other, more evil faction of the children saw that their magic was becoming too powerful and was too great of a threat for the others to overcome so they destroyed the Valyrian empire, or, even though this is HIGHLY unlikely and probably impossible, maybe the others are responsible for the doom themselves.
Azor Ahai, born without mother or father started the game of thrones and was destined to become the new night king. His birth set about events that tore apart the seven kingdoms after the nights watch has failed their pact to protect the children of the forest from man. Bran or what is left of him will reveal only a part of his destiny to Jon about his heritage and how he must bring down the night king, while knowing the necessary sacrifice. Jaimei will become a queen slayer and hail Tyrion as king in the south. While Arya serves the many faced god previously known as Bran as a tool of death. The show will end with a new beginning, with Jon Snow/Azor Ahai leading the white walkers back as the true king of the north. The children of the forest will thrive, the knights watch will be reformed protecting them from man entering their territory or suffer the reign of the night king coming south. The iron throne may be what man is fighting over, but the real game of thrones is for the balance keeper. The man that was destined to be born to no one, die to no one and still live on until the next Azor Ahai is born this is when the new night king (Jon Snow) and his queen (Daenerys) will awaken again to find the successor to the throne. Winter will never end and fire will never reign, they dance to the song of ice and fire.
What if Bran and the night king are symbiotic and Bran must become the new night king to take the army of the dead beck to the North? and this happens with a Stark every hundreds or thousands of years.
Doubtful. This series is all about revolution, the breaking and remaking of the world. It makes no sense if the resolution is just to stay in the same cycle forever.
Why does the NK need the army of the dead if not to destroy Men? Why couldn't they do this meta transaction north of the Wall? Why did the NK seem more intent on slicing up Bloodraven then chasing Bran? Clearly Bran and the NK have some kind of relationship. No doubt. Interesting to see if the NK goes after Bran during/after the battle of WF.
@@marcushendriksen8415 Interesting the cycle, the wheel, perpetuates itself. Death always wins, remember, but the fight is all. Eh, I can't believe GRRM is that abstract, but maybe?
@@AlastortheBunny tbh I wouldent be surprised if that would be the case. look at de ending scene of the last episode of season 7. Then look at the wrath of the lich king cinematic. Its a complete rip off.
We have two opposing elements Ice and fire, the summers and winter are completely unbalanced right now. The Night king ice and Dany Azor Ahai fire are on a collision course and Jon who is the balance is going to have to find a way for these two opposing forces to coexist. A dream of spring, Dany wants an endless summer and the night king wants an endless winter, only a spring can be the balance.
right, there is also a mention, if i remember right it's in Dunk and Egg. It's said when the last dragon died in Dragonstone at this time, the summer became colder, shorter, and the winters still longer. May also be a cycle, or the famous pact that must be renewed when a realy long winter/or maybe summer happen.
Dakini Dream I believe Dany inherited the title of the prince who was promised after rhaegar died. There are many clues in the books that suggest that Dany is the last dragon now.
Cersei for sure would be the best option. She will die and her punishment could be to be resurrected by the Night King. That way she would get to be queen like she wants so badly, but in a punishing way.
Yeah that's what it is the night king just want to get hitched. Must be looking for love hence why he's raising the dead. Hasn't found an undead wife worthy since he has all control over them and all.
. .and neither can Deanerys. the Night King is smart. He lets the humans bonk/bang each other and with one touch, he turns young human children into Level A - White Walker.
My favorite idea is that he's running from something too, but I don't really think that's the case. I think The Pact, whatever it was, was violated somehow and he's coming to collect.
Alan Thompson i believe too that NK has no thirst for ruler hes here for veagence like an unfinished business during the first man and the children of the forest
Night king was just a machine built to kill. The whole point of him being in the show is to show the complexity of human behaviour; that despite a grave and imminent threat to our race we won’t all band together and put aside our enmities until it’s too late.
I feel as night King is a Targaryen. I'm getting a strong feeling like that, he can ride a dragon with very ease, he did nothing to John but he targeted Danny
Maybe the White King and his Walkers were triggered to go south of the Wall when Theon captured Winterfell. If I can recall correctly, Bran, and Rickon fled to the wilderness and despite that "a Stark must always be at Winterfell", momentarily there was not. This is just a thought of mine; I could be proved very wrong.
Actually, just like seeing the dragons coming , and other stuff he was prepared for..... he could have known it was going to happen... and it broke the ancient pact and he was ready to move when it did....
Bill Gerweck I cracked up laughing reading that, thanks! That's actually not a butterfly, it's the Texan's bull head logo. My son and I were at a game and we got our faces painted with Texans logos. But to the topic, I don't see how the NK could be Bran though. When the children of the forest created him, the man they turned into the NK had light brown/blondish hair and he was walking. But yes, it would've been a nice theory😀
Jo Castillo nah, season 7 night king looks wayy different then the other seasons he was in, the original actor isn’t the night king anymore, look up the old night king and new night king and you’ll see the differences side by side
Night King is played by Vladimir Furdik Bran Stark is played by Isaac Hempstead Wright - but they have some unsettling similar face feature : almost same chin , mouth shape , nose ... we will see ...
Maybe the knight King is going to winterfell because he's a stark and he wants to prevent this family from extinction ? Bran is blood Raven , arya is no one & sansa is having issues with marriage after ramsy. The knight King could have killed bran when he touched him or Jon snow several times but he didn't
bran is the night king. 1. the first children who created the night king refers to bran as, to be safe from "you". 2. bran's stance n the first night King's stance against the tree was the same. 3. I heard that bran was born during the peak of summer. it started to cool after his birth ie, the night King's birth. 4. he tells robb after waking up, I would rather be dead. he repeats it strongly. 5. the 3 eyed raven tells him to control n not to get lost. n he is not ready. meaning, he loses n is tempted by the powers in the other world. 6. this novel is filled with magic n other unbelievable stuff. time travel too. so night king n bran r same is kinda justified. 7. the 3 eye raven tells bran he will fly, while bran is desperate to walk n horse riding. kinda enabled as the night king. 8. both bran n the night king wear the same attire n ve the same facial structure n especially the ear. 9. he might be wanting to go to the crypt. cos a great deal of mystery surrounds the crypt at winterfell. he is always urged to go to the crypt in his dreams. 10. while shooting down viseryon, he takes a moment to take aim. kinda reminiscent to Jon's advice in the 1st opening episode n also in his dream while aiming at the raven. 11. a typical n usual storyline wer the basic ending of the story is very subtly told in the very beginning. in this story- it opens with bran n jon. it's probably gonna end that way too 12. jojen reed is asked by bran, if bran ll die. he says everyone dies but with a queer smile at bran, he says referring to bran - not yet. jojen able to see into the future kinda seems amused as if bran doesn't know his own identity. 13. it's usually a habit to talk abt the most prominent characters in an interview. based on this, I saw a few George rr Martin interviews, wer Martin kinda repeatedly used to tel bran, Jon n sansa in the first 3 characters, wen asked abt GOT n the random characters... these were the 3 character names he mentioned often. 14. bran had always wanted the easy route to be king, which was vaguely told in the first episode. thereby the control being in Kings landing. maybe that's y he might be headed there too. 15. these r some of the observation n reasons as to y, I strongly believe bran is the night king. but the first children's statement of - TO BE SAFE FROM YOU N BRAN'S STANCE AGAINST THE TREE is reason to strongly convince me that bran is the night king.
1. Jojen would not have been helping Bran if he knew he was the night king. 2. Bran never indicated he wanted to be King. He wanted to be a Knight. It was also never indicated he wanted to do it without putting in the work. 3. It would take a lot of really fancy tail telling to make Bran a young boy at the same time he is a Grown undead man. If it wasn't clearly him as a young man and the NK as a grown man in the same timeline I might think it's possible. I don't think that's what Bran's importance is but he's certainly important. It appears all the remaining Stark children are. Interesting theory though.
+Shannon Allen hi.. the visions of bran after escaping with meera reed kinda confirms even more. 1. the vision sequence is like - the mad king giving the order, back of a person walking towards the mad king, stabbing the mad king, a shadow figure sitting on the iron throne, beheading of ned stark, falling from the tower. 2. the shadow figure has 1 common thing in all 3 instances - mad king death n seating on throne, neds stark execution n bran's fall. - it's Jamie lannister. 3. the mind of young bran maybe heavily impacted by neds death n he might be coming to avenge his father. 4. (an assumption or theory - night king having the power to revive the dead, might want to go to the crypt to revive ned.) bran as the night king. 5. bran is kinda under the impression that lannisters r the enemy. but bran n 3 eyed raven are 2 different ppl. 6. the old nan says, bran the builder used to hear voices of a child. (kinda very clear as to who that child is) 7. wat happened during time wen bran was sleeping after the fall n waking up. remains a great mystery. 8. bran is very much attached to his father. he is coming to Kings landing to avenge his father. these r my additional observations...
+Shannon Allen regarding jojen. jojen has never ever tried to change anything. he has only played a part in taking things forward. he knows the past n even the future but never reveals anything.
I bet bran gets into some big time loop fuckery when he meets jaime since jaime is headed north. He probably ends up becoming the night king for revenge. He said he wanted to be a knight, NK was part of the nights watch.
Nightking has watched Circei from afar and he has very much admired her unrelenting meanness. He knows she is the only fit Queen for him. He is coming South killing all to prove his worthiness to her.
I'm putting this out there - NK is a Stark. He's going to Winterfell to raise the Kings of Winter to join battle with Jon and Danny against Cersei. NK is actually the good guy - and everyone missed it.
Sailor Planetos maybe he sees Dany as a threat to the starks. She’s been getting increasingly violent as the show goes on and her want for the iron throne has been growing. Her entire claim to it, in fact, is based purely on birthright. If she finds out that Jon has a better birthright than her she might kill him. She’d find that out through Bran (the literal only living person that knew Jon snow is an actual Targaryen, not a bastard) which could maybe explain why the white walkers attacked the blood raven’s cave and chased bran. She also obviously disliked the idea of Jon snow even being king in the north. I personally don’t think the end of GoT will have much to do with who’s on the iron throne. Honestly I think it’ll end up being destroyed. The iron throne has always been important, yes, but GoT (and ASOIAF) have been showing more and more magic lately. The show and the books have always enforced the “expect the unexpected” mindset and while the night king being good is a decent twist, I don’t think all of this is just about fighting Cersei. I don’t believe in this theory completely but it’s very interesting.
A Stark must always be in Winterfell. Once Theon took control of Winterfell, the treaty keeping the Nights King behind the Wall was broken, making it possible for him to bring his army south to do exactly what he was created to do.
The first theory is very interesting. What could possibly be a bigger and scarier threat than the NK and his growing army? My personal opinion is that he wants Gilly's child - being the 100th sacrifice has to mean something special. First I thought he was just a machine given the task of killing all men but if that's the sole purpose of him coming down from the North, why now? Why couldn't he have come down before there were adult dragons flying around, before dragon glass was rediscovered and the second coming (?) of Azor Ahai walking about fulfilling his destiny?
Yeah bro exactly what I thought after I binge watched to Season 7. Like in the first episode the acting was flawless and what Jaime did in the last was genuinely surprising and so amazingly directed and the actors looked more lively.
He was created in the place they were north of the wall, bro. By the mountain that looks like an arrowhead. Watch the scene where The Hound points out that mountain when they are beyond the wall and the scene that shows that the Children created him, it's the same mountain in the background.
He is looking for a cure. He doesn't want to be a white walker anymore and has worked out how Bran is going to cure him. That's why he reached out and grabbed him
Bob Gnarly if he just wants to die why does he have to raise an army of the dead and go on a path of destruction, can't he just go alone and tell them that he needs a cure from this life nicely
Lincoln Smith he wants the cure and he wants to take over the world? Thus army and not wanting to die... he wants to be human and take over westeros? No idea anymore haha I thought I had a brainwave
I think cerci will outlive the night king and prove to be far more dangerous, but she’ll still die. She has to or I’ll throw my flat screen in the bin.
What if Littlefinger is still alive, wearing the (K)nights King face. Then at the very end, Rickon (wearing Arya's face) and Shaggy (wearing Nymeria's fur) pull off Littlefinger's disguise, And Littlefinger says, in a snarl, "I could have gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling kids!"
One theory I've considered is that hidden in the crypts of Winterfell is the Night Queen, and only Azor Ahai can wake her.. we hear about him having a flaming sword that defeated them last time, but in mythology a flaming sword can actually refer to spoken word. It could be that the Night King had to await his rebirth in order to come back for his beloved Otter Pop.. or at least that's what he calls her when they're wrapped up in blankets of ice..Maybe the children sacrifices by Nightswatch and later, Craster, were meant to sweeten the deal so that the Night King didnt feel total loss not having his woman there to give him heirs to the throne.
Sansa’s power (which hasn’t been revealed but GRRM clearly says they all have a special power) is she KNOWS WHAT PEOPLE WANT She looked into Hounds eyes and said “you won’t hurt me” She looked into little fingers eyes and later said “I know what he wants” She will come into contact sonehow with k ought king and figure it out he wants baby sam or a wife to make more night walkers. Tyrion always says “best way to make alliances is with a marriage pact “
For me the biggest question always was what does the Night King want? Why he was all those years at far north and now suddenly he is going south? why? And the more I think about it, answer is coming to me clear now: - "the prince/princes who was promised" ... what do you think about it? In the profecy there is not said what for prince is promised. And for whom they are promissed, for human or for whites ? Maybe for wedding with Night King...? or for replecing him...? or joining him...? - last time the hero defeated Night King, he didn't kill him. And after defeating they build the wall. How about they came to an agreement and they promised something for Night King? and in return Night King might even himself helped to build Wall. and Starks were in Winterfell to remember the promis. Why all those seasons they keep repeting that "the North remember" and " there always must be Stark in Winterfell" -> maybe it was part of agrement with Night King - Jon Snow already took a knife to his heart for his people, so maybe he will do it again to replace Night King and take all white walkers back to north... Together with Dany? And by the way, why Dany was mentioning this knife so many times in last season? maybe to hint something for us...? - Dany already step into fire with dead khal Drogo in s1e10, she as well was ready for giving herself and her life... - Dany in her vision in the hause of undying crosed the Wall and seen her housbend and baby behind the wall? why there were behind the Wall in this vision...? maybe it foreshadowed that she will after all go there again and spend there her life with her housbend - Jon and their baby - Deny dont want to be queen of the ashes, same as Jon, so they might agree to fulfill promis that was given years before. When Melisandre meet Dany she didnt say that prince will defeate Night King. She said that the prince that was promised will" bring the dawn". - maybe Night King just want to take last 3 dragons(targerians - Dany, Jon and theit babay) to prevent strong magic be on this world (magic was born again with dragons), so nobydy ever after will be able harm anybody like children of the forest harmed Night King - and how about 3 headed dragon is actually 3last dead dragons/Targeriens ( Dany , Jon and their baby)? I dont know much of the history and timeline in Westeros, but maybe doom of Valyria was part of pact with Night King. So nobody ever after will suffer from strong magic like he did. And last 3-headed dragon was promised to him... If 3 headed dragon dies, there wont be Targeriens anymore, so nobody will be able to reborn dragons again. - White walkers/ Night King cant speak. But how about they actually write down their agreement - all those symbols. It was even in s1e1 - made from dead bodies. Maybe it was like " We came back to fulfill the agreement" This sign (circle divided for 2) looks to me like 2 parts of same apple - two halfs of same part (Jon and Dany, Ice and Fire)- and seed at the same time - last seed (their baby). Those same signs you can see in cave. - and how about cave scene - Dany said : they chose you to protect them. Isn't their survival more important than your pride?" And after that both Dany and Jon go from darknes to light... its like foreshadowing what will happend. The longer I think about it, the more hints I see. What do you think of this theory?
He is coming because the Stark sword "Ice" has been altered and is no longer in the hands of the "King of the North".. I believe that the original pact made between the Ice King and the Starks was that The Wights would return to their frozen homeland and remain there so long as a Stark sat on the thrown at Winterfell and wielded the Sword "Ice" to protect the secrets of the old Gods buried deep beneath in the Crypts of Winterfell. With the death of Eduard and the desecration of Ice at the hands of the Lannisters, The Night King is returning to Winterfell to protect those secrets and will kill everyone in Westeros to insure those secrets are kept.
The Starks' sword Ice was made just about 400 years ago as I recall and the white walkers show up in the book literally before the Starks are even mentioned for the first time.
"original pact made between the Ice King and the Starks" if there was one took place 6000/8000yrs before ..ICE was made of Valyrian steel which came from Valyria(call me Mr obvious) which wasn't even in existence at the time(by 1000s of yrs)
@@TomOkkaTom The Starks were there at the beginning alright as the family is 8000yrs old and part of the First Men but your dead on about the sword being much later,Valyria was supposed to have been founded 5000yrs before and destroyed 400yrs ago so ICE at least 400yrs old
@@wildfire160 I'm aware of the Starks being among the oldest families. What I meant was that the white walkers show up in the prolog of GoT so anything happening in the books can't be the reason for them to show up. The sword itself is about 400 years old as I said: "Four hundred years old it was, and as sharp as the day it was forged. The name it bore was older still, a legacy from the age of heroes, when the Starks were Kings in the North."
Also the white walkers in the books have yet to say a single word so as far as I'm concerned, they have no motive other than to kill all that is warm and breathing.
I remember that "there must ALWAYS BE A STARK IN WINTERFELL".... But at one point there were NO starks there... at all....I don't recall them stating what would happen should there ever NOT be a stark in winterfell. They aren't saying these lines just to be saying them...lol
Eek. That's going to be even harder on Theon for chasing Bran and Richard out of Winterfell. He's all torn up about betraying his pseudo-family. Imagine when he finds out he also caused the apocalypse.
"Must always be a Stark at Winterfell..." was my first reaction as well. Well, okay, what happens if there isn't- and for awhile there wasn't- so now what? Was there some sort of agreement between the NK and Winterfell that kept him on the other side of the wall, or is there something in the crypt (we keep coming back there...) that NK is after? Pondering, pondering, pondering.
In the first book from the Dunc and Egg series Dunc says: "The winters are colder and longer since the last dragon died." I think the NK became active after the DotD, but he couldn't make a move until Robert Baratheon became king. I think the NK was scared of the Targaryens, because of the power in their blood.
What if he wants to die. This would be a brilliant twist. Everyone in this show is trying to survive or rule. What if he truly cannot be killed. If he can raise the dead while also living for thousands of years, is it possible he is in a sense cursed with life. There are so many bran theories about him being the nightking, but what if he is the nightking's replacement or maybe little sam is.
I'm assuming the night king wasn't able to cross the wall because of brandon the builders "magic", but since he "marked" bran, and bran crossed back over the wall, the night king can now come across the wall to enact his revenge. Just like he could get to the 3 eyed raven after he marked bran.
It seems to be the case. Question is why would the WW want people to know theyre coming. And why do they make these weird formations out of the remains of the people that they kill. Seems to be way more important than the baby sacrifices question
I sometimes wonder, as Rhaegar was thrown into the river. Was body ever recovered? The night king rose after Rhaegar died. Is there a connection? Is this why night king seemed to recognize Jon Snow.?
In season 2 at the House of the Undying, the warlock explains that since Daenerys dragons were born, his powers were reborn as well. He is most powerful in the presence of the dragons, and the dragons are most powerful in the presence of Daenerys. I believe the power of the NK was revived too, which would explain why the Others were spotted and discovered by the Nights watch near the same time the dragons were born. Perhaps that was the broken “Ancient pact”.
I sometimes wonder if the knight king and company are going south because they are drawn by all the death and destruction in Westeros. What if he knows. He can grow his army by raising all the dead and dying in the south, bringing them all back to life and taking over the entire continent?? Thank or all the fighting worries them that the God's Eye trees are in danger, which goes back to one in the video. Bravo on all the theories!
I feel like he’s the original aegon and wants to reconquer Westeros. He wants to reestablish the wheel dany wants to break the wheel. Jon vs night king is aegon vs aegon then. Seems like a lot of symbolism
@@heavyxhand valyrians are a folk, no race. Like the notherners they could very well descend from the first men. We know valyrians lived on there peninsula "for a very long time" so it could be possible. If thats it, maybe the NK could be a ancient Targaryen due to familys beeing formed long ago. I dont believe in it but you cant prove it wrong or did i overlook something?
My favorite crazy theory: There was a race of dragon lords long before Valyria (evidence for this lies in the Daynes, who have eyes like the Valyrians but date back much further and Dawn which is like Valyrian steel but much older. Also in stone similar to how the Valyrians built using their dragons, but much older than Valyria, like the base of the tower in Old Town). The Last Hero agreed to banish dragons from the realm for all times, in exchange for the Others staying in the land of Always Winter. When the Targaryens first arrived, this deal was broken and the Others started building their army, but didn't make a move since the dragons died out. Then the comet arrived and they knew dragons would be born again and the Others had had enough. I also like the 'Bran warged into the man who became the first Other' theory and now he's stuck within him. Would explain why this has to happen now.
Well night king could of got daenerys easy though but no only one thing he wanted was viserion so it was a trap he set > that rules daenerys out of his plans > it could be ceresi or melisandre or Sansa to be honest daenerys and Jon will play the biggest part of this war both are reborn as leaders
The night king makeup is crazy good especially the way his crown is coming out of his head! Maybe wants to go over The wall because he knows little Sam is there.
The drawings in the Dragonstone (island) cave. This makes me wonder if the Targaryans were involved. They've been around for a thousand years. Dragonstone isn't very close to the wall, or beyond. Why were they on the island? Maybe that's where another "children of the forest" faction was formed.
I m rereading again and noticed that Neds sword "Ice " is stated to be 400 years old AND Valaryian steel, made in Valaryia. That means the doom timeline is Way off, so I think the long night is off too..There was a doom by fire in Valaryia. ..and now a "doom" by ice in westeros. I think the wightwalkers will defeat westeros, Cersei is described as icy throughout the books, new nightqueen, men will live in Essos, safely across the sea, making the iron throne obsolete. love QOT.🌹
The Lady Olenna Tyrell “Ice” wasn’t made for the Stark’s they acquired it somehow. That doesn’t mean the timeline is off. All we know is that the starks have had the sword for that long
The Lady Olenna Tyrell Aegon the 1st conquered westroes 300 years ago , the doom of valrayia happened 100 years before the targaryens and two other valrayia familys moved to dragonstone. So the doom was around 400 hundred years ago. The timeline sounds pretty accurate
Bella, Andre, Stephen and others....Agreed In a game of thrones, chapter 3, Catelyn is with Ned in the God's wood there's a brief discussion about "Ice" being forged 400 years ago in Valaryia and how it' was forged. Doubtless a Targaryen would have had to have brought it with them when they fled Valaryia before the doom, possibly someone associated with Daenys the dreamer? I'd like to know more about that time period and how the valaryian swords made it to westeros and then to the prominent families that own them and pass them down their family lines. It makes me wonder if the Valaryians had encountered the whitewalkers, hence Valaryian steel, lost history to the doom. "A city of a thousand years and all that men had learned; The doom consumed it all alike and neither of them turned ". hope everyone has a great weekend! Love QOT.🌹
The Lady Olenna Tyrell Yes correct the Targaryen lost the ability to make valyrian Steel, The targayens must of had load of valyrian Steel swords with them. Daenys the dreamer gave the targayens fair warning about the doom, I believe they left 4 years earlier before the doom destroyed Valeria. I wish we find out what caused the doom, I hope they make a spin off 😀😀😀.
I think he want to get to the gods eye. I think there's children there, and he wants to be cured. Dany wants to rule forever, when tyrion starts talking about what'll happen when shes gone, she gets all edgy. She'd get to rule forever being the night queen (turned by dawn, nissa nissa style) jon will sacrifice himself to save humanity, become the new NK and Jon and Dany get the rule together forever, ice and fire.
Prostitution, beheadings, slavery, betrayal, men distracted and disconected from the natural environment. The children of the forest knew the thirst for power blinded men and over power their ability to create a harmonious society. They were trouble
Ann, I think they mean it could be kind of like the One Ring in The Lord of The Rings, i.e. you have to take the item back to where it was created to destroy the magic. If the dagger was created from Dragonstone dragonglass, then it MIGHT make sense somehow....
Night King is tired of waiting for GRRM to finish the books and is heading south to do it himself :

What an awesome answer!!
Thorsten Westheider agreed
yeah pretty much summed up. we agree.
But what could be the lie?
doesnt really rulw the dragons out. the white walkers existed thousands of years before the main event... so did dragons

I like the theory that says his wife is locked in the crypts underneath winterfell
Yeah me too
Talking Thrones But it doesn’t make any sense in context of the show like I feel like people will just be lost if they do that
Cold be his wife was killed without knowing who she was and was was promised his choice of Prince's wives as his new queen to stop the fighting.
It's unlikely that this sort of pact would be forgotten, though.
Sailor Planetos u never know one theory is Jon Snow name was banished forever somehow forgot that.
Anybody else jump a little every time the NK pops up? Dude just scares the piss outta me, lol!
yup lol
Yea same. Im always like pls no
It's because we don't know anything about him and he seems to be unstoppable.
It's totally a 'fear of the unknown' thing. Not knowing who he is or what he wants makes it 100 times more....chilling,.
Doesn't hurt that the costume, CGI, and prop departments do one heck of a job to make him look scary af either
Damn 👏👏👏
Ok, well I'm speechless.....no I'm not, actually I loved how u worded especially that last part. 😂
What if Bran and the night king are symbiotic and Bran must become the new night king to take the army of the dead beck to the North? and this happens with a Stark every hundreds or thousands of years.
Hmm lich king? Hellooooo...?
There are many clues in the books that suggest that Dany is the last dragon now.
why not jon
What about Jon?, Jon's not really a dragon, he is a hybrid Stark Targ.
Nexis 1 or *autumn* bomb, minds blown
Cersei for sure would be the best option. She will die and her punishment could be to be resurrected by the Night King. That way she would get to be queen like she wants so badly, but in a punishing way.
Eric Rawlings A bittersweet ending, as Gorge himself stated. 🙂
Love this!
Sounds more logical for Danny to be turned to a ice queen she’s been wanting to rule and telling everyone to bend the knee
It's knight king not knight queen this is the dumbest theory ever
Yeah that's what it is the night king just want to get hitched. Must be looking for love hence why he's raising the dead. Hasn't found an undead wife worthy since he has all control over them and all.
Cersi will sleep with anyone... Why not become the Knight's Queen...
@Wparker6804 lol
He is coming to meet the best swordsman podrick😁😁
Cerci will offer the NightKing her child. She wants to rule everything, at any cost.
fred omg you might even be correct
Cerci can't have any child, prophecy
@@iAiannn If he took her child and made it undead, it would be a white walker, not her child. I just guess. Wish he would write the books.
. .and neither can Deanerys.
the Night King is smart. He lets the humans bonk/bang each other and with one touch, he turns young human children into Level A - White Walker.
@@FrostedSeagull Only the lamb people lady said she can't have babies. No prophecy.
My favorite idea is that he's running from something too, but I don't really think that's the case. I think The Pact, whatever it was, was violated somehow and he's coming to collect.
They ran out of nuttella in the far North
We have not seen even one jar there....
Sam Tarwell polished it off.
Hahaha
I believe the NK went south to end his curse. That's the direction I feel from the show, and just a little vengeance in there as well.
Alan Thompson i believe too that NK has no thirst for ruler hes here for veagence like an unfinished business during the first man and the children of the forest
First theory is very unlikely. They wouldn't introduce another "more evil" threat that the Walkers are fleeing from with a season left in the show.
Simple, he's getting older so feels the cold more now so is heading south to retire in a warmer climate. only joking,
The night king wants to drink some wine with tyrion.
Saffron Sarmiento and find out the punchline to the joke about the donkey and the honeycomb in the brothel...

I think you just solved it, Saffron.
While drinking, he make joke with greyworm.
And Missandei can translate it. She will have a new language to learn. :)
Night king was just a machine built to kill. The whole point of him being in the show is to show the complexity of human behaviour; that despite a grave and imminent threat to our race we won’t all band together and put aside our enmities until it’s too late.
The NK wants go South of the Border for some sun and fun...
Connor Glass he wants a tan he is pretty pale
Connor Glass like Spring Break for a change...

I feel as night King is a Targaryen. I'm getting a strong feeling like that, he can ride a dragon with very ease, he did nothing to John but he targeted Danny
The NK wants GRRM to finish the books!!!
I can believe this.
I don't know about night king but I need season 8 (desperately)...
I want Tyrion to just walk up to the Night King and give him his signature "What do you *want*?"
"Directions to Jersey...."
They are on the way to take part in the Undertakers next Wrestlemania entrance.
The white walkers show up in the books, as they do in the show, before the Starks are even mentioned so I don't think so.
Actually, just like seeing the dragons coming , and other stuff he was prepared for..... he could have known it was going to happen... and it broke the ancient pact and he was ready to move when it did....
Maybe craster was a descendant to Azor ahai and sacrificing the boy children was part of the pact agreement baby sam being taken broke the agreement
Sailor Planetos. I definitely think the story was extremely embellished but that there was a hero nust fought with diplomacy instead
Tyler Tate good theory but I don’t think the night king is coming south just because of 1 baby...there is more to it
The NK looks an awful lot like Bran. Especially the nose.
But yes, I know it can't be him.
But yes, it would've been a nice theory😀
agreed jo:)
Jo Castillo nah, season 7 night king looks wayy different then the other seasons he was in, the original actor isn’t the night king anymore, look up the old night king and new night king and you’ll see the differences side by side
Night King is played by Vladimir Furdik
Bran Stark is played by Isaac Hempstead Wright
- but they have some unsettling similar face feature : almost same chin , mouth shape , nose ...
we will see ...
11. a typical n usual storyline wer the basic ending of the story is very subtly told in the very beginning. in this story- it opens with bran n jon. it's probably gonna end that way too
12. jojen reed is asked by bran, if bran ll die. he says everyone dies but with a queer smile at bran, he says referring to bran - not yet. jojen able to see into the future kinda seems amused as if bran doesn't know his own identity.
13. it's usually a habit to talk abt the most prominent characters in an interview. based on this, I saw a few George rr Martin interviews, wer Martin kinda repeatedly used to tel bran, Jon n sansa in the first 3 characters, wen asked abt GOT n the random characters... these were the 3 character names he mentioned often.
14. bran had always wanted the easy route to be king, which was vaguely told in the first episode. thereby the control being in Kings landing. maybe that's y he might be headed there too.
15. these r some of the observation n reasons as to y, I strongly believe bran is the night king. but the first children's statement of - TO BE SAFE FROM YOU N BRAN'S STANCE AGAINST THE TREE is reason to strongly convince me that bran is the night king.
(kinda very clear as to who that child is)
7. wat happened during time wen bran was sleeping after the fall n waking up. remains a great mystery.
8. bran is very much attached to his father. he is coming to Kings landing to avenge his father.
these r my additional observations...
+Shannon Allen regarding jojen.
jojen has never ever tried to change anything. he has only played a part in taking things forward. he knows the past n even the future but never reveals anything.
Just say and!
The first one was already the wildling's reason for coming south. It would feel a bit over used to do it again with the Others.
Fleeing from something even more dangerous would be amazing
Cliffe FC That would be crazy, a bigger threat than the night king. The night king then teams up with the living
Jack Borgeson or ice spiders
Bella Richards yeah that d be ace
Well, and how will it end then? Another GoT with 8 seasons?
He's got dirt on the Clintons so he's having to run away.
I'm putting this out there - NK is a Stark. He's going to Winterfell to raise the Kings of Winter to join battle with Jon and Danny against Cersei. NK is actually the good guy - and everyone missed it.
Zoe Kouf is he? Which Starks? Bejen is the only one, and he was actively attacking the WW.
Then why take Dany's dragon and not just form a pact?
Because winter is here
A Stark must always be in Winterfell. Once Theon took control of Winterfell, the treaty keeping the Nights King behind the Wall was broken, making it possible for him to bring his army south to do exactly what he was created to do.
Ughhhh if they are leaving the North because of Global warming I will stop watching TV for the rest of my life.....
LMAO
Kekistani Dan lmao for real , I would be completely done with television for good
LMFAO
Hahahaha.. I hear ya
Lmfao
The first theory is very interesting. What could possibly be a bigger and scarier threat than the NK and his growing army? My personal opinion is that he wants Gilly's child - being the 100th sacrifice has to mean something special. First I thought he was just a machine given the task of killing all men but if that's the sole purpose of him coming down from the North, why now? Why couldn't he have come down before there were adult dragons flying around, before dragon glass was rediscovered and the second coming (?) of Azor Ahai walking about fulfilling his destiny?
You are forgetting one important thing: the TV show is getting simpler and simpler. This is too complicated. But in the books... why not
Word
Pavel Mecer I think they’re making it seem predictable and out of nowhere the twist is gonna be so bad we wouldn’t have seen it coming
Yeah bro exactly what I thought after I binge watched to Season 7. Like in the first episode the acting was flawless and what Jaime did in the last was genuinely surprising and so amazingly directed and the actors looked more lively.
Yup I noticed this too, it's because they're ending it so soon. They don't have time to be complicated, which is unfortunate
Have you read the books? There is no night king.

For me the biggest question always was what does the Night King want? Why he was all those years at far north and now suddenly he is going south? why? And the more I think about it, answer is coming to me clear now:
- "the prince/princes who was promised" ... what do you think about it? In the profecy there is not said what for prince is promised. And for whom they are promissed, for human or for whites ? Maybe for wedding with Night King...? or for replecing him...? or joining him...?
- last time the hero defeated Night King, he didn't kill him. And after defeating they build the wall. How about they came to an agreement and they promised something for Night King? and in return Night King might even himself helped to build Wall. and Starks were in Winterfell to remember the promis. Why all those seasons they keep repeting that "the North remember" and " there always must be Stark in Winterfell" -> maybe it was part of agrement with Night King
- Jon Snow already took a knife to his heart for his people, so maybe he will do it again to replace Night King and take all white walkers back to north... Together with Dany? And by the way, why Dany was mentioning this knife so many times in last season? maybe to hint something for us...?
- Dany already step into fire with dead khal Drogo in s1e10, she as well was ready for giving herself and her life...
- Dany in her vision in the hause of undying crosed the Wall and seen her housbend and baby behind the wall? why there were behind the Wall in this vision...? maybe it foreshadowed that she will after all go there again and spend there her life with her housbend - Jon and their baby
- Deny dont want to be queen of the ashes, same as Jon, so they might agree to fulfill promis that was given years before. When Melisandre meet Dany she didnt say that prince will defeate Night King. She said that the prince that was promised will" bring the dawn".
- maybe Night King just want to take last 3 dragons(targerians - Dany, Jon and theit babay) to prevent strong magic be on this world (magic was born again with dragons), so nobydy ever after will be able harm anybody like children of the forest harmed Night King
- and how about 3 headed dragon is actually 3last dead dragons/Targeriens ( Dany , Jon and their baby)?
I just LOVE the Theme playing in the background of your videos!
I remember that "there must ALWAYS BE A STARK IN WINTERFELL".... But at one point there were NO starks there... at all....I don't recall them stating what would happen should there ever NOT be a stark in winterfell. They aren't saying these lines just to be saying them...lol
I wasnt thinking about that you might be right... I was thinking more that it was because fire (targaryens) no long rule in Westeros
@@deadlymerlin But the Targs only ruled for 200 or 300 ish years. The long night was 8,000 years prior.
@@andrewjazdzyk1215 you are right..
In the first book from the Dunc and Egg series Dunc says: "The winters are colder and longer since the last dragon died."
I think the NK became active after the DotD, but he couldn't make a move until Robert Baratheon became king. I think the NK was scared of the Targaryens, because of the power in their blood.
How does that go with the long summer tho?
In the words of Craster “when your this far north there’s only one place to go.” 🧐
You're
Where did he get the chain when he pulled the dragon out of the water 3:01
I think they leave certain people behind to tell others they're coming.
Could be.
It seems to be the case. Question is why would the WW want people to know theyre coming. And why do they make these weird formations out of the remains of the people that they kill. Seems to be way more important than the baby sacrifices question
The formation resembles the tree that the NK was killed.
rndom persn you mean the formation that looks like a bow?
the bow one i think looks like an eye, possible the island of many faces but thats just me
The Night King is Bran the builder he’s coming to destroy everything he created
I wouldn't have believed. But since, it's batman who is saying it. I believe it. NK is bran the builder, he's coming to break whatever he created.
If the night king is looking for a wife could the wife be Sansa Stark? I mean her dire wolf did die thus imo she has to be “killed”.
Kristen Miller this kinda, maybe makes sense. Her eyes are even called 'cold' though her hair is kissed by fire 🔥
So is the NK, now. :P If the NK is after a NQ, Sansa certainly seems a viable candidate.
agree, she would make a beautiful ice-queen with her eyes and red hairs.
Huh?
How insane would it be if the night's King was rhaegar Targaryen
Imposibble
I sometimes wonder, as Rhaegar was thrown into the river. Was body ever recovered? The night king rose after Rhaegar died. Is there a connection? Is this why night king seemed to recognize Jon Snow.?
Yes the same thing came my mind too but the transformation we saw was not rhaegar's
@@priteshsharma8395 neither was the markings of the first night's king
hahahahaha duuuude imagine, I'm pretty sure that's been debunked but... 'Dad!? Dad.. it's me!"
Perhaps that was the broken “Ancient pact”.
...He just wants his phonecall...
Or his jacket. This could be like that episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? where all the ghost kid wanted was his jacket.
👏🏽👏🏽
@@sailorplanetos3075 "I'm cold" Damn that show was scary.
Best movie ever
and he's killing the bus driver
Again thanks for your time ..from the real North aka Scotland 😨🤤😨
Your videos are awesome and details are spot on.......
A lot of these theories are pretty legitimate really great video!
Thanks Mike
I sometimes wonder if the knight king and company are going south because they are drawn by all the death and destruction in Westeros. What if he knows. He can grow his army by raising all the dead and dying in the south, bringing them all back to life and taking over the entire continent?? Thank or all the fighting worries them that the God's Eye trees are in danger, which goes back to one in the video. Bravo on all the theories!
I think it has to do with Bran in some way ♥
Maybe the Night King has a big crush on Bran.
The night king takes over and raises his own Ice Palace Elsa style while belting an epic version of "Let it Go" in skroth.
YES!!!
"The Watch never bothered me, anyway..."
You need to write a book or sell some T-shirt’s man! Keep up the good work bro
I have wanted to make shirts for over a year, but never pulled the trigger..
Pull the trigger!
Talking Thrones I'd buy your t-shirt!
There's never a better time than now man, I'll be your first purchase! Capitalize on your publicity man there's no shame
Here's a free idea, do the last supper paining of Christ but have the Stark's on the table and talking thrones above it. I'd buy it
I feel like he’s the original aegon and wants to reconquer Westeros. He wants to reestablish the wheel dany wants to break the wheel. Jon vs night king is aegon vs aegon then. Seems like a lot of symbolism
YES! Someone who actually shares my belief that the NK could very well possibly be a Targaeryn!!
Sounds like Aegonorrhea.
Gina Williams the Night King is a First Man. Targaryens are from Valyria
Ice Darth Maul(night king)is moving south of the wall to get revenge from obi man
Just like GRRM said he's the hero on the other side and I think the enemy is Rhllor and somehow how so
Well night king could of got daenerys easy though but no only one thing he wanted was viserion so it was a trap he set > that rules daenerys out of his plans > it could be ceresi or melisandre or Sansa to be honest
daenerys and Jon will play the biggest part of this war both are reborn as leaders
He was trying to save us from Bran.
I ALWAYS PRESS THE LIKE BUTTON EVEN BEFORE I WATCH THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!
Nuns with guns Is that Willis in your profile pic? When he was laying on the ground repeating HOLD THE DOOR!?
yes lol
I m rereading again and noticed that Neds sword
"Ice " is stated to be 400 years old AND Valaryian steel, made in Valaryia.
All we know is that the starks have had the sword for that long
And they can be wrong about the time as well. I mean, whats the tifferent between 300 and 400 years ago?
I wish we find out what caused the doom, I hope they make a spin off
😀😀😀.
He's running away from Chuck Norris
😁😁
Yessssss!!!!😂😂😂😂
Rk rabindragon 🤣🤣🤣
You know why there is a ton of chuck Norris jokes???
And no Bruce Lee jokes?
House Targarian (fire)
House Stark (ice)
Im thinking Azor Ahia is your boi Jon Snow.
Crimson Corgi
Omg that actually makes perfect sense as he’s made from both houses, he literally is fire and ice
I think he want to get to the gods eye. I think there's children there, and he wants to be cured.
Dany wants to rule forever, when tyrion starts talking about what'll happen when shes gone, she gets all edgy. She'd get to rule forever being the night queen (turned by dawn, nissa nissa style) jon will sacrifice himself to save humanity, become the new NK and Jon and Dany get the rule together forever, ice and fire.
i think the purpose of white walkers is to destroy men, they are like terminators
Yeah that is why they were made in the first place so that's probably the right answer. It's the most logical one.
Prostitution, beheadings, slavery, betrayal, men distracted and disconected from the natural environment. The children of the forest knew the thirst for power blinded men and over power their ability to create a harmonious society. They were trouble
He wants to destroy dragonglass in his chest, so he is heading to the cave at Dragonstone where dragonglass comes from.
Moo Mu damn deep. Me likey
How would going to Dragonstone affect what is in his heart?
Could very well be.
Ann, I think they mean it could be kind of like the One Ring in The Lord of The Rings, i.e. you have to take the item back to where it was created to destroy the magic. If the dagger was created from Dragonstone dragonglass, then it MIGHT make sense somehow....
Zoe, if you were the NK, would you walk through Westeros alone?
