So delightful to see another in this series from Miya-san and Kokon-san! I knew about the macabre story of the male anglerfish but both of you made it much more interesting. Miya-san is cute as always and Kokon-san is getting cooler and cooler. Hehe. Thank you very much for the video! 🙏❤️✨

Ha ha, the mating habits of anglerfish are as fascinating as they are unsettling, although I knew about them before going into this video. This little quiz was great fun, Miya-san. Kokon-san, give it all the likes!

2:28 According to Wired, this mating is called Sexual Parasitism. "This is because he doesn’t need to hunt. He only exists to attach to a female, and according to evolutionary biologist Theodore W. Pietsch of the University of Washington, mates are so scarce down here that it might be that only 1 percent of males ever find a female. The rest starve to death as virgins - unfortunate guys in a sea that doesn't have plenty of other fish." Worst and the most absurd of mating processes.
4:28 Oi! chin appendages are important in finding their food! They're called barbels! The taste receptors of fish!

6:48 According to Ciara's Biology Blog, a tuna specie swim continuously because the gas-exchange membrane is very thin, allowing the oxygen to diffuse a short distance across the respiratory surface to get to the blood, taking oxygenated blood more quickly in it's circulatory system. That explains why tuna can't stop. The quicker the circulatory system taking oxygen in blood, the higher the suffocation risks.
That's all the important facts in this quiz. Tuna...arigato...
    Any questions?
