How do you prevent any fire scale if you are heating the silver so much? Because I feel like to fix the fire scale by buffing afterward, you would remove that dusty texture you just put on. Just wondering because I struggle with fire spots after heating sometimes

Sterling gets very dirty when heated, I think it would be a challenge to fuse without flux.
