I struggle with movies like this so much. Yup, it’s gonna be mindless trash, it also, from what people are saying looks to be equality baiting and so I don’t want to watch it based on those things. I say all that but I’ll watch it, eventually, when temptation wares me down and I’m in hospital or something and need a movie that requires very few brain cells to consume and despite feeling passionate about all the issues this movie is clearly going to contribute to, I’m part of the problem because I will totally cave and then I’ll feel incredibly guilty. Also, people will hate watch it. The fundamental issue is that between the people like me who shamefully lack self control, those who don’t see it or don’t care and can’t wait to see it and the hate watchers, it’ll bring in enough of an audience to justify the production of so many movies exactly like it. Does anybody else genuinely struggle with this? So often people tell me to take a chill pill, it’s just a movie and I’m being beyond ridiculous to devote this much energy to it. Am I alone here? This film is the epitome of a guilty pleasure for me, in the actual sense of the word. I have a chronic illness that often finds me in hospital for things or in bed for a day pretty frequently, that contributes to why I eventually succumb to consume these movies but I don’t think that really stands up as an excuse. So, should I take peoples advice and just chill out or should I keep trying to stop consuming because “every vote counts” as it were?

@@bena577 Dominic Sherwood was a Shadowhunter in the show Shadowhunters & Arden Cho was a kitsune (fox) in Teen Wolf. So I’m not confusing anyone, but they were both perfect in the supernatural world as their respective characters hence my comment. 😊
These kind of shows are obligated to have the "fabulous gay friend" by law or something? I'll clarify: i'm not against the gay part, it's the stereotipical way it's portrayed
The black gay friend as well, it's already tired. Netflix already used that same thing in Never Have I Ever, with the gay black lesbian and God knows how many other shows I haven't seen The token black and gay wrapped into one neat package for the quota 👀👀👀
@@BowtiesRcoool First, I don’t think Never Have I Ever is a good example. Second, naming only *one* show when your argument is how “tired” aka overdone something is doesn’t help. I’d have named Kimmy Schmidt and Emily in Paris. Finally, the issue with claiming this as “another stereotype” ignores the fact that the lead is Asian, not white. That in itself, changes the friend dynamic quite a bit. Even if this show does fall into the trope, based on the trailer, the Black gay friend doesn’t seem to be stereotypically over the top, the woman friend has all the “sassy” lines. Plus, it makes sense that her closest friends at the firm would be other minorities (woman, Black man), considering she’s a minority herself in a typically white male dominant field. This is also why I think Never Have I Ever was a weird example to name. In that show Devi’s bff’s are both minorities and one happens to be gay. Additionally, the “gay best friend” trope, is primarily referring to gay men as specifically the sassy, femme, comedic relief role-characteristics that Fabiola doesn’t really match.
Not only that, a token black/gay supporting player who is non-threatening to the cast of romantic interests who just so happen to be all white. Really, no Asian males for the Asian lead? Brown lawyers don't exist? This is how woke liberalism insidiously manages to buttress and reinforce the status quo. White male supremacy is still championed in this world that is thinly veiled under the guise of POC feminism.
Why if the lead is a POC is their love interest almost always white? And Netflix better give more depth to the black best friend (I have not forgotten what they did in Emily In Paris).
Exactly!! I’m so sick of it; even in queer relationships on screen, if there’s a person of color, their partner is always white. I feel like the intentions of casting a person of color in the lead role is kind of negated if both love interests are white. She states in the trailer, “You don’t know how hard it is to be a person of color here” in reference to her workplace, but I hope they show how it also impacts relationships with white people.
Having watched the season finale, I think they've set up a poc love interest for season 2. and if that's true, then he's more likely to be her endgame.

This show was so good! And I don't normally say this about any other show. Just the right amount of drama, romance, business and comedy! I loved it sm❤️
Hope it gets renewed for season 2!!
Okayyyy! I can't believe how much I liked it.
So excited!!! Mark your calendars!! AUGUST 26th!!!!
I absolutely loved this show.
Go ARDEN! I'm so watching this for her and I'm so happy for her! It looks nice, can't wait to see this.
Damn I hate watching good netflix series being cancelled. It sucks. Hoping for another season
Looks so good! I'm loving the female lead, she looks perfect for the role
SEEING ARDEN IS AMAZING
Arden being on netflix for a new movie warms my heart
That's Arden Cho? Wow, I really didn't recognise her because her styling is so different. I was not sure about this but now that I know it's her, I'll be watching 👍
We missed Arden! This looks so promising and refreshing, cant wait!!!
A shadowhunter and a kitsune, purrrrfect 😌
Shadow hunter..I think your confusing her with Jackie Lai
@@bena577 Dominic Sherwood was a Shadowhunter in the show Shadowhunters & Arden Cho was a kitsune (fox) in Teen Wolf.
So I’m not confusing anyone, but they were both perfect in the supernatural world as their respective characters hence my comment. 😊
@@IraTheDon omg I'm so sorry..I thought u were talking about Arden..please forgive me..you are totally right...
@@bena577 Aww no, it’s chilled. Don’t sweat it, honestly! 🤗
These kind of shows are obligated to have the "fabulous gay friend" by law or something?
I'll clarify: i'm not against the gay part, it's the stereotipical way it's portrayed
yup, exactly my thoughts.
The black gay friend as well, it's already tired. Netflix already used that same thing in Never Have I Ever, with the gay black lesbian and God knows how many other shows I haven't seen
The token black and gay wrapped into one neat package for the quota 👀👀👀
With all these shows and movies these days, you'd think straight black dudes don't exist, lol.
Um…Thank you Netflix for giving this girl a series. She deserves it and the story seems like something i can easily get into!
Her name is Arden Cho she datED Ryanhiga youtuber Nigahiga
@@shockboy1992 i love Ryan
Having watched the season finale, I think they've set up a poc love interest for season 2. and if that's true, then he's more likely to be her endgame.
Happy to see her cast as leading role. Congrats Arden!
LOVED THIS SERIES!!! Thank goodness I didn't give up after episode 1 as I thought it was a too corporate-y series even though I come from law background myself. I loved every single character, every outfit, every hot scene and THE TWIST AT THE END GOT ME SHOOK!!! ❤️
Arden Choi was my favorite character in teen wolf, I'm glad she's finally getting the main role she deserves
Team Murphy. We need a season 2, please!
This show was so good! Arden Cho killed it! I binged it allll! I hope there's a season 2
Loved this show! Hope there’s a Season 2!
I was not expecting to like it and I enjoyed it. Just finished all episodes.
The moment we have been waiting for. Ms Arden Cho is back in the building!
As a huge teen wolf fan, I am so proud of my girl Arden for landing a leading Netflix role 💖
Loved "its the best gift ever, drama that's not mine"
So happy to see things going well for Arden! It takes me back to when she used to have Q&A sessions with her fans on kondoot!
This series is sooo good, binge watched in one day. Please renew it for other season.
So funny that I have this trailer saved on my watch list for months and I decided to watch it today and loved it... lucky for me it's the day of the premiere :D
This should be a movie not a TV show, the trailer makes it look more interesting than what's gonna be a lot of fill time
When they pitched this to Netflix:
So imagine Emily in Paris, at a law firm, in New York.
Ingrid in New York 🤣🤣
PLEASE HAVE A SEASON 2!
I love Arden from Teen Wolf and I'm glad she has a leading role, but this movie is another one of the bunch. Where the shy and romantic girl falls in love with the playboy (who is white...)
Wasn't expecting much from the series, seeing as it is marketed in a very cliche manner, but it pleasantly surprised me :)
Waiting on a new season (hopefully) 😔💖
SAME. Loved it. Can't wait for Ingrid to end up with Z (she must...)
Same!!!
so so proud of arden !! cant wait to see her in this !
Netflix, despite my initial hesitation of this show(seemed cheesy trying too hard lifetime network vibes) I am demanding a season 2 immediately.
Omg so excited to see Dominic Sherwood back on screen!!
Shadowhunters, Teen Wolf and law. omg all my passions in one! can't wait
This is the type of series I need!
I'm so glad that Nolan Funk will be in this series. Can't wait to see him!!!!

Our writers are incredible! Don’t worry 😚🤩😁

I would die to get a series of partner track coming!!!
I like how this turned out. Stay alarmed until the last minute
Renew it for a season 2! Such a bingeable show
Kira from Teen Wolf and Jace from Shadow Hunters ... I am screamingggg!😍🔥❤️ I have got to watch this!!!
“You’ve worked non stop for years, it’s in the bag.”
Gosh, I wonder what’s going to happen! lol
So this is what Arden's been doing lately! Glad I checked. She's so good at anything she does.
This looks so great. Will be watching. Nice to see an Asian female lead as well.
I binge-watched this show. it's so good!
Next to suits, this is my new favorite!
Netflix, please renew this show for season 2!!

So happy to see Arden Cho staring lead in a Netflix film!
