Haha! I meant to shout you out in the video but I recorded late and forgot. Let me make a comment and pin it. And I know you'll be pleased to hear I was playing Miles Morales Spidey today (in 'Pool even) against Venom Goblin!
@@VillainTheoryI appreciate that a lot! Thank you 🙏🙏 One of the best heroes against one of the best villains! I love that matchup. What did you think about Miles in ‘Pool? That idea hasn’t even entered my brain but it sounds like a lot of fun
@@webwarriorfanatic I really enjoyed it! I don't think 'Pool is his best aspect but it's fun and super viable. Laser Swords with Stick-To-Itiveness, Double Life and Peter Parker for readying on top of normal Web-Warrior stuff.
Sweet! I saw he posted a slightly similar deck a couple of months ago now I think it was? He has some really cool Spidey plays on his channel, cool guy
Thanks! And yes, while I'll only do it for certain heroes and certain decks, there are plenty of upsides to going over 40 sometimes. Maybe worth a video?
New favorite series just dropped! Man, all these decks look incredibly fun. I haven't tried Peter out with Web-Warriors for whatever reason, so after I finish testing a Thor deck I've been working on I'll definitely check out that Justice deck along with the Voltron Quintet deck (the Thwip n' Quip looks awesome too I just do 2-player with my roommate, so next time I get around to playing solo I'll check it out too). You just have incredible talent when it comes to deck-building so a whole series about your decks has me incredibly excited. Only issue is I'm scared I won't have the time to try them all lol
Ha! Thanks, that means a lot. I hope they're fun for you! And hey, no rush! They'll be here whenever there's time if you still want to play them later!
(Sorry for posting multiple comments -- I'm commenting as I watch) I really like that Voltron Quintet deck. I've been trying for a while to run voltron decks with multiple voltron targets, but I end up not liking them because they're too dependent on getting that one character out (or multiple characters weakens the rest of the deck too much); however, I can see this working really well because of the number of voltron targets. Since I play all solo, I'll have to figure out how to modify this for more early thwarting. I was thinking that another viable Voltron target would be Fantomex. Then maybe Call for Aid would be unnecessary, and having one more ally available would get that thwarting going.
Hey no worries on multiple comments. I only heart one but I'll read them all 😁 Fantomex is another good target for Voltron but, in my experience, not quite as good as these others. But maybe worth a short. And you could potentially sneak in some powerhouse 2 THW allies? Maybe Maria Hill and White Tiger for 1x Honorary Avenger and something else?
@@VillainTheory One thing I do like about Fantomex is that he can go into decks that are NOT voltron builds, and then he just becomes a voltron-type character anyway. He can always be saved for other decks to keep this one "cleaner" (and then I can add the allies you mentioned -- Maria Hill and White Tiger). They might also make Call for Aid unnecessary in my deck.
I really like the idea of this new series! kudos my good sir. I don't really like Spidey, in the game at least, but I really would my giving Quintet a try... tnx
Oh nice! I expected to get a lot of disagreements about that as I know people like to use Build Support for Web of Life and Destiny (and on other heroes, I 100% do!)
@@VillainTheory I agree that he doesn't have enough early Thwarting to effectively use PSSs. I was, however, scratching my head at the lack of Quincarrier in Welcome to the Webwarriors II. I suppose his enconomy doesn't need it, but I like to have it (along with Ingenuity and Web Shooters) to be able to draw some resource generator early.
@@starwindm8810 There's honestly a great argument to include Quincarrier. And I just watched Web Warrior Fanatic talk about it and he has a slightly different style to both of us: don't run Ingenuity at all but do run Quincarrier. Part of the reason I agree with that, running one or the other, is that I find Peter is already a very rich hero and doesn't need a ton of resource generators to do well. In solo, I often think you can win 2-3 turns earlier by putting less into the setup and more into kicking the villain in the face a couple times. In multiplayer though, I always run Avengers Mansion and Helicarrier. Love them bankrolling other players. I'll even often have them take the card draw from Web of Life and Destiny. Agree or disagree, hopefully that offers some context as to the decision-making!
since you didn't post any aggro decks I'll post general idea of mine essentially I consider Spider Man to be the best user of Counter Attack+Toe to Toe+ "You'll pay for that" combo on expert you take so much damage having large hp is actually secondary in my opinion (but I recommend Endurance anyway), it's better to have great recovery (and Aunt May is the best, 4 REC without exhausting ID) Toe to Toe costs 1 less (ID ability), you don't need to set up combo of all 3 of those cards, if you can at least fire 2 of those you are good, get some allies to thwart and I believe deck is still viable against many newer villains, it probably won't solo Venom Goblin but still should be solid I played it ages ago, after Hulk release, I defeated everything available back then on expert (3 Core villains and goblin), there are new villains around, but also there new allies/cards around, I tested this combo on others, but no one is as good as Spider Man, for example Venom is too slow, he wants to get his guns and other upgrades, Peter's strength is that all he needs is his Aunt
That's a really fun way to play him. I usually play him with Boot Camp in Aggression but that sounds extremely cool. Toe to Toe is great with him and I love "You'll Pay For That", I think it's a super underrated card. Going to have to try it on Peter!
Justice decks that want to stay in hero mode and thwart from hero are really good and really underrated and Spider-Man is really good with such a deck. SM Voltron is a classic, but its really hard for me to justify these days over other Upgrade based decks - Guardians, X-Men, and X-Force imo do Upgrade Leadership better. SM Web Warriors is really cool and allows him to break out from Cap's Shadow, but I really wish you didn't have to play warrior of Great Web to get it. Cool series, a lot of work ahead of you lol.
100% agreed on the Justice decks, really like decks like that. Not flashy but fun and effective. And yeah big series! But no rush for it and they're relatively short by my channel's standards haha. And hey, if you have a favourite Captain Marvel deck and are willing to write a few lines about why you like it, I'll feature it in the next episode. Just fling it at me on Discord if you're down and no worries if not!
Correct! Though maybe I should. I don't have the time to do big write-ups for decks like I used to and some people get funny if I post too many at once... But it would make it easier for people.

I love my Spiderman Voltron deck where I load up all three allies Iron Man, Ronin plus Black Cat. I have got more healing and less readying in mine as even so they tend to burn up. I am convinced Taunt is horrible, to break myself in gently I need to try it in those situations where it's less bad like with PP and his extra card. Super thematic with Spidey too! I am not sure how worthwhile this is vs those villains with extra consequences from attacking like Ultron & his extra drone? (I'm also a bit played out with the Web Warrior allies so later) If you are ever stuck for ideas I would be very interested in a ranking of heroes by economy! edit: this is implicit in your hero ranking now I think of it. Maybe a why the top 5 are great/how to work around the rubbish ones.
Nice! Voltron decks are just so fun. And honestly, I was so excited for Taunt but I've used it much less than I expected - but it's really fun in the places it can shine. And you are right that, against Ultron and Thanos etc, it starts to look a LOT worse - not something to be used in every scenario. Cool idea! I think talking about economy in general is interesting and top/worst 5 are a super interesting vessel for that. I'll add it to the list!
I actually play two different versions of Spider-Man: I allow him to either be an Avenger or a Web Warrior (but not both). It seems to me the only reason he's not a Web Warrior is because of the timing of his release, so I just play him with whichever one I want at the time.
@@VillainTheory LOL -- I only play solo anyway, so I figure I'm going to play the game the way I enjoy it (though I mostly follow the rules since that generally adds to the deck building challenge and variety).
@@VillainTheory Great idea for a video series by the way. I was actually thinking about running a UA-cam channel myself that was just about deck builds for Marvel Champions, but I would only have time to post videos during the summer because I'm a teacher and my wife's caregiver. These videos now make that unnecessary. 🙂
In all honesty, I don't actually like Taunt in 3-4 player games because there are already so many attacks to defend for the table that it's hard to justify playing a card to make the villain attack again. I'd probably rebuild from the ground up with a regular defensive deck with Desperate Defense, Never Back Down etc!
So does the Spider-Sense ability work only for my activation exclusively or is there a defense timing I can do for another player where I draw the additional card from their villain attack, too?
Sadly I don't think Spidey has access to anything at the time of writing to make that work. The card draw happens when the villain starts to initiate the attack, so at the point you can usually defend it's too late. So it's basically just when an attack begins against you specifically.
