Yep, my dog destroys her stuffed toys the day that she gets them usually. They don’t go to waste though, because I repurpose the stuffing in knitted stuffies. Plus she gets enjoyment out of them.
My daughter has a Husky that rips everything apart. He ate the leg off the coffee table. He’s lucky he is loved so much😊❤

I had a dog that played with his toys all the time and never tore them up. He loved his toys.
My mom's younger dog is insane with the stuffed toys. most of his toys are now bones, stuffless toys, etc. All the stuffing goes everywhere otherwise haha. One of his favorite toys is this bed he has that he tore apart and then we got a new one and now that one has no stuffing either. hahahah
Hahah Dexter and Gracie are adorable! Our dog will cuddle his toys sometimes, but give him an empty cereal box and he'll shred it until the very last bit. Economical toys I'd say :p
What a lovely Sunday! I love the days when I can curl up and enjoy knitting. Your pup is like mine; the toy must be destroyed! LOL! I buy them toys too that I know will get destroyed quickly. BTW, it's so startling to me to see you at places I know. We shop at Pet Supplies Plus too. One of these days I hope we meet in the wild 🤗

I love Dexter :) the only toys are working for my dog are from Ikea.... he's loving the pig... the toys for dogs never survive more than few hours... thank you for the Vlogmas :)
My dog is exactly the same as Dex. I can’t give her stuffed toys or the stuffing is out within an hour. The only toys she can’t destroy so far are the black rubber Kong toys. The other colors are softer and she tears them up. On the plus side, her teeth are bright white. 😊

Kay have you ever thought of doing a Christmas sock advent calendar for yourself? Where you knit yourself a different pair of socks to wear every day of December up to Christmas. I think if anyone could do it it would be you 😂

Neither of our two dogs like soft toys! Very strange as several of our previous dogs destroyed them! These two like a stick to chew- outdoors! Loving your vlogmas Kay xx

“My” dog destroyed any dog toys we got him but his ikea stuffies were his babies and would last for years. Must have been the lack of squeaker.

My cocker spaniel has 3 toys the same as she doesn't destroy them, but kills the squeaky😅, I'm think about buying some new squeakers to put in them it will confuse her. The colour of the Canadian yarn was stunning

Dexter was so funny zooming around with his new toys.🤣 We had a border terrier cross jack russell who has sadly passed now but he used to destroy all of his soft toys. The red and green socks are knitting up lovely. X👍🧶😊

I must find that polar bear tin. I'm an adventurous beginning knitter attempting your socks for the second time. Trying to get my tension correct on the ribbing of socks.
So exciting to find another Sister in Christ who seems to to be as addicted to all things yarn related as I am. Also, watching Dexter murder Lambchops was good entertainment. He seems like such a sweet boy. 💕

Funny, but I'm working on my cousin's Cozy memory style baby blanket in chunky yarn while watching and I'm so glad I'm not the only 1 making a blanket that isn't just fingering weight. It's so validating.

Dexter is just the cutest! We used to get bark box for our last dog Daisy and she was a toy destroyer. Once I emailed them a picture with a caption that said something like that was a fun five minutes, what’s next and they sent me a replacement free! I totally didn’t expect that. Sorry to read about your shepherd, it’s the hardest part of owning a pet.
So all these years I've watched you, I've never heard you mention the Steelers--until recently when I've heard you mention them twice. I've often wondered if they are your team since you're from WV. We're all Steelers fans in my house (with zero connection to Pittsburgh or PA--it's just a family tradition🤷)and my ears definitely perk up when you mention them!
They are my husbands football team. I’ve just recently started actually paying attention to football when he watches. 😂 I’m so far saying I’m a Bengals fan 🤷🏻♀️🤣

I've never lived with a dog that did not "unstuff" toys. My daughter will intentionally by unstuffed toys. Squeakers are just as bad, they get chewed until that is no longer in the toy. Have you ever tried BBQ on your baked potato. That is really good also.
I have a boxer and he loves his toys never rips them up

My Emmee was exactly like Dexter, must be a common trait in Boston's. She literally would have toys ripped, stuffing throughout the house and the squeaker punctured so it didn't make any noise within an hour of my giving it to her. So sweet. Are you down to 2 cats and 2 dogs? Haven't seen Chole, so sorry if she passed 😢 Love all you knits, especially Eric's sock.

My goodness, your blanket is growing quickly-and so pretty! And those socks rock!! Let me tell you about my "grand dog" Brady. There isn't a toy he hasn't destroyed in nano seconds that I know of. He loves the soft ones but you've gotta watch him every second he has one or it looks like an explosion. If my daughter catches him starting to destroy, she takes the toy and puts it in "toy time out" for a day or so, then gives it back to him when he's in the same room that she's in. She got the "super chewer" Barkbox a few years ago and he mowed those toys down too. They did replace some of them...she finally gave up. He's a lab mix so it doesn't take him long. I guess some dogs are just that way. You can tell that Dexter adores that new stuffie...and Gracie loved hers too. Our dogs were pretty good at sharing....sometimes.....
The advent yarns are so lovely 😍 and yes we have a miniature dachshund Cooper who can destroy his toys in seconds 🤦♀️ we give him pigs ears as a treat every now and then and I’ve timed him. It takes less than 10 minutes to eat it.
🤷♀️it is what it is but I still give him soft toys because he loves it. I sew so I also make him little blankets out of my left over fabric and that seems to satisfy his needs. He is such a good boy and will only chew what we give him.
Same with Dexter, he only chews toys (and blankets) that we give him. So really I can’t complain. They keep him entertained and he enjoys it, and he isn’t destroying things of ours. 😂

Oh yes we have a 5 year old cockapoo that destroys toys even the ones that they say cannot. We turned to the rubber balls that she cannot destroy🤣

Dexter is just so stinking cute! (As we say here in the South.) I really need to try the baked potatoes in the crock pot. That just sounds delicious. My father makes his ribs in the crock pot, believe it or not.
Your Cozy Memories Advent blanket is so pretty! It’s really fascinating to see the yarns worked up next to each other.
Edit to Add: Both my boys are chewers. My 90 lb Pit is super strong, and we have to buy special toys for him. My husband’s 4.5 lb Chihuahua just loathes squeakers and will de-squeak a toy in 2.75 seconds. After that, it’s stuffing everywhere.

My dogs main aim with toys is to get the squeeker out I’m sure! So he just gets tennis balls now. Soft toys last an hour if they are lucky! Lovely relaxed vlogmas video again ❤️
Yes our dog is a chewer too but thank God she does not eat the stuffing all she wants is to get the squeaker out of the toy. Your blanket looks so beautiful. I would not know how to pick up the stitches like you did. I am a beginner knitter so I am not that good yet. I am going to have to look up the Bark Box to see what that is all about. Those potatoes look awesome.
