Living just outside of Tagaytay in Silang is very nice. Where we live in our subdivision of Suntrust Verona we can see Laguna Bay and People's Park In The Sky. It's great living at a higher elevation as we have great views of the surrounding areas mostly towards the Laguna area. My wife, mother in aw and I went to the Philippines and arrived about a month before Taal erupted. Never in my life did I ever think that I would ever see a volcano erupt and it's nice being about 20km (approx 12 miles} away from Taal but we are located due north of Taal so we were right in the way that the ash went on that Sunday. The ash was mixed in with rain so it was a real mess. Thankfully Taal is a small volcano or things could have been much worse. I don't remember how many volcanic earthquakes that I felt that day and on the Monday but it was a lot and the house shook so much. Thankfully there wasn't any damage done to the house that I could see. Anyway I do remember having some chilly temps and we have nice breezes too which helps on the warmer days. I'm only about a 15 minute drive from Tagaytay and about an hour drive from NAIA. It will be great when the Cavite Bataan bridge is completed so that we don't have to drive so far just to go a short distance to get there. I'm happy living there in Silang and we're not very far from grocery stores, markets, hospitals and many other amenities.
I prefer colder weather. One thing about living at such a high elevation is getting acclimated to the lower oxygen levels. You typically have to be more aware of UV rays, also, not just for skin protection, but with your eyes, as long-term exposure can be damaging, so better to take protective measures. Being a mile closer to the sun makes a difference.
I just got back from tagaytay wondering my face was burnt despite being in cooler climate. Come to find out after reading your comment, laying out poolside much closer to the sun doesn't help 😂
I spent two weeks on a motor trip in the mountains in The Philippines. We had a great time during the two week trip. The problems with land titles in Baugio. I like Tagagtay as well. I do like the fact that Manila is close to summer capitol number two. I think the volcano. Sagata has those hanging coffins. We really enjoyed the great weather. We also had to pay a touriam tax when visiting Sagata. Sagata also seemed to be very rural, and very clean. Awesome video, thank you foe sharing. Your channel really seems to be growing very fast.
Can you do a follow-up video on what are the next 3 cold places to live in the Philippines - i am sure many expats would like to know about other cool places to live.
I don't know if you recall, but I am the guy who suggested that you show these places on a map so that we tourists can get a better sense of where they are in relation to the rest of the country. and I want to say that you've done a fantastic job in doing that, and I really appreciate it. and unlike the first few times that you did it, you are now leaving the spot up a little bit longer on the screen so it makes it easier for us to get our bearings. I also really like that you start by being zoomed further out so we can actually see which of the islands the location is on, before you get in close enough that everything is lost. it's also very cool that you are using the distance from well-known locations, such as large cities like manila, to give an even better sense of the distance and location of what you're talking about. so thank you for all of that!
I am from east of Madison Wisconsin and lived in Philippines for years and I love it hot. When I returned to USA I landed in Chicago and was wearing a heavy jacket and couldn't stop shivering even though it was 75F there. I have my second home in Pangnasian.
I'm originally from Chicago also currently living in San Francisco and I love the cooler weather. In fact, I'm thinking about relocating to the Philippines and I will be looking for a place with cooler weather. Valencia in Negros Oriental is on my list 😎
Im from Indiana. My Filipina wife and I have an apartment in La Trinidad Upper Tomay and house in Sablan. I have Philippine DL and have drivin into Baguio many times. When its raining it is worse. However, unlike the States or Manila, motorists are usually very patient and thoughtful. Its already an obstical course, just have to keep your eyes open. Great video thx.
I live in Norway, and I don't use a blanket at nights, even if it's subzero temperatures outside during winter.. So I like cool temperatures. I travelled to Tagaytay twice and experienced 16 degrees C, I was at an outside cafe situated on a high cliff overlooking the lake, and suddenly we were engulfed in thick clouds, it became quite cold suddenly, dropping from about 24 degrees to 16 degrees. I highly recommend The Lake Hotel:))
I visited Baguio in December 2009 during the strawberry season and loved it except it seemed like I was always walking uphill! LOL Tagaytay is on my list and your videos make we want to visit even more. I had not heard about Sagada until now, and you have expanded my list of places to go as I used to go spelunking almost every weekend in Indiana years ago. I do like the mountains and cooler climates but also enjoy some beach time along with it. The one thing I have not experienced is the summer months in the Philippines. When my Filipino friends complain about the heat, I know I would just be a puddle on the sidewalk. Stay safe.

As for the heat in the summer, I don't know whether I'm grateful for it coming from the icy roads Illinois, or despise it... love hate relationship I guess.

Baguio seems nice. I also like the fact that there is surfing in La Union which is a 2 hour drive from Baguio. Not a lot of Surfing locations in Phi. Not a lot of spring weather places. So it is neat to have both close by. To each other. (if your interested in both which I am).
Baguio is where I am going to hang out, hopefully it will start snowing there so I can teach a Filipino to be World Champion snow skier, my goal in life or something like that. I love cooler weather, it is why I lived in the SF Bay Area forever.

Am a Fil-Canadian, semi-retired and I have been living here in Baguio City for over 7 years already! I just can't stand the heat in the lowlands! Not to mention the pollution in Manila.Baguio is the BEST place to retire in.
purchase a dehumidifier, whether electric or the cheap ones, calcium carbonate canisters. That solves the isssue specifically during rainy days (June-September).@@im_a_ukie8951
I'm from the northeast, spent 3 years in Alaska (Coldest temp I saw there was -66F/-54C) and 4 years in North Dakota (Around -40F/C without wind chill factored in), it can't get cold enough for me there to put on a long sleeve shirt or pants LOL. Excellent video and as always very informative. Thanks for all your hard work in making these videos for us.
With that cold temperature you can go outside with a hot cup of coffee, pour it out and it will freeze before it hits the ground. I lived in Alaska for 25 years.
I have lived in the Chicago and Seattle areas. Baguio’s temperature is more like Seattle. I prefer the cool weather. I was visiting the Provinces in Pangasinan where I sweated so much the I developed an itchy rash.
Thanks for telling me about Baguio! Will check it out. The USA had crazy weather today, 44 F in the Northwest and snow on the ground (here in the mountain towns of Montana), and all-time highs in the whole Eastern USA (105 F in Laredo, Texas).
Listening to these elevations reminds me of my time in Colorado Springs, about 6900 ft. Cooler temperatures are good with the ability to go to warmer "everywhere else".
@@christopherhouse7937 Aurora Province. This is shelthered by the cordilleras what makes it cool. And there is a lot of rain and therefore a lot of dschungle, what leads to this amazing climate.
Just visited your channel. Thanks for the video. I was recently visited Baguio with family for 4 days in mid-December of this year (2022). Camp John Hay is the best place to stay and will definitely revist. The temp was 71 during the day and overnight low was 62 during my stay. I had such a great time and visited the places that you mentioned and some. I always wanted to visit Baguio during the winter months and it did not disappoint. I'm planning to go back February 2024 from what people have told me that that is the coldest month to visit, which I'm looking forward to.
Most of the Americans you met must be spoiled, cuz if you’re from south Tx, south FL or anywhere on the gulf coast, the heat and humidity is about the same. Being there reminded me of summers at home in Tx.

I'm looking for "cold weather ".. I currently live in Sacramento CA and when I relocate to the Philippines it will probably be a beach community like siargo or mountain community like baggio, or tagattay. So glad you made this video.
Just came back from Baguio...lots of days up in the 80F plus. Been there several times and it gets nice and cool but can get warm as well. We are also from Florida, which happens to have the exact same heat and humidity as most parts of the Philippines, which is hot as balls,
Whilst I am a huge fan of the cold (7 Korean winters in pampal), Baguio turned into a non- starter because of the massive cost premiums compared to everywhere else in PH. For $800 US, you are only getting half as much as rentals elsewhere. To get my feet wet, on my first rental here I was looking to spend around $800 per month, but I would have gone up to $1200 for the right place. In Baguio, compared with each and every other place at which I looked, there far fewer rentals on offer, and each level (studio/1/2/3/4 bedroom) is more expensive to access. For the icing on the cake, one also gets much less value for their money. To keep my two story joint in Davao icy, my power has been around P10,000 a month, so I'm still way out in front this way. To those of us who don't bleed money and need to stay within a relatively tight budget, Baguio can really only be a holiday destination.

It's definitely less crowded than the first two I mentioned. Only caveat is if you like to live in nice hotels and have a pampered trip, Sagada is less developed.
Good thing is that the local government is building good sidewalks in Baguio. The local government have to continue building wide and very smooth sidewalks.
absolutely I enjoy cool weather. I do not want to be a prisoner of the heat inside with aircon. I am planning my return this time to find a place to live. I was very interested in Baguio but I see all this input about how crowded it is. That is not my thing but the temperature is perfect for me. I am also going to look into Tagaytay
Great video. All my filipino friends tell me i need to retire in Baguio. Growing up in California all my life, last 30 years in San Francisco it looks like Baguio may be the place. I am trying to get there on this trip. It's great that you did not leave out the Starbucks at tagaytay. It's a must see place for coffee lovers and Starbuck fans.
Being that you're from Northern Cali Hank, I think Baguio will be right up your alley. Also, I don't care what anyone says about Starbucks, I gotta have it!
@@TheSavvyExpat here's a Vlog you need to do. Filipino coffee is outstanding and no one knows. In February when I was here I brought back 3 Kgs of beans back with me to the US. Filipinos don't even know how good their own home-grown coffee is. They all drink that unhealthy powdered crap. The problem is it's hard to find the beans. I was introduced to Filipino coffee on my way to Tagatay from a little coffee stand next to a Buko Pie shop. This coffee was on par with Kona I drank in Hawaii.
I was in Tagaytay in May 2015. It was 35C. 40C in Manila. We stayed at a hotel that over looked Manila. We got to see a giant lightning storm. Bolts jumping from the clouds to the ground every 20 seconds. They were still talking about it a week later in Manila. My favorite place in PI so far.
#1 is in the middle of nowhere ! - > A dizzying ride on roads made for Billy goats - not people ? - - Fly in to there if you know what's good for you ! - - - Tagaytay is '''ideal''' just for the location if nothing else - being so much easier accessed from Manila ! - Yet this place is awesome ! And you won't freeze. Perfect if you prefer ''comfortable" and not cold like @ 5,000 feet. Here it's only 2,000 feet yet rarely needs AC. - - - The 3rd place is very remote also - again like #1 with even more difficulty getting there ! -- A grueling 13 hour bus ride from Manila or almost 9 hours by car ! Doesn't have an airport close to there I could google up. - - - Don't have a very serious medical issue in either Northern location.
Great information! My only red flag was the heat. I lived on SoBe Florida and it felt like I could cut through the humidity and heat with a knife. Now I know there's a cool place in the Philippines for me.
Nice Video! I never thought that Cold and Philippines could be used in the same sentence :D When I was a young boy, I spent two years with my family in the PI. My father was stationed at Subic Bay and I don't ever remember it being cool. Someday when I go back to visit, I'll need to make sure that I check out those three locations!
currently living in Alaska, the 3 you spotlight sound warm and appealing (rather than stinking hot). We hope to explore Tagaytay, Silang, and surrounding areas - hopefully to find a good balance of price/value with some altitude and room for fruit trees/garden.
Tagaytay doesn't belong here. You forgot colder places like Salvador Benedicto and Malaybalay. Also, you're wrong about the average temperature in the Philippines. It's definitely not 90 F. Maybe you meant average high temperature, but I think even that's wrong.
I enjoy the tropics but love the cooler weather at elevation. so much more comfortable and one sleeps much better at cooler temps. Thank for your informative vlogs. I will definitely be retiring in the Phils thanks to your helpful videos. I am orginally from Chicago as well but now live in Hawaii
Correct me if im wrong buntoc benguet is coldest place in the philippines. Just because baguio is welknown than buntoc thats why so many people are not aware.
Your videos are always excellent, informative and fascinating. I prefer warmer weather but these places can offer quite a relief from the summer heat when in the Philippines. I've 'never been to Sagada. I'll take Tagaytay anytime but love the wide variety of fruits and vegetables in Baguio.
100% Gio. It was nice to getaway from the heat in manila for a change. I haven't been to Baguio yet but so far I've heard a lot of good things with their fruits & veggies
@@TheSavvyExpat It's been ages back since I've been to Baguio. There was an old world charm to it. The remnants of the great American presence and that amazing feeling of being on a fancy vacation outside Manila. Though it can get noticeably crowded, still, I say it's a great place to take a break.

My son built a house in Sagada, where I'm going to spend my last years. It's a beautiful, laidback city, where you can live close to nature, among warm, kind indigenous people, and where the general ugliness of the modern world does not intrude.
I've been researching Bagiuo for over 3 years now but due to their no smoking anywhere rules I'll probably be in between Bagiuo and La Trinidad buying a kargador 150 cc on arrival 😆 Just south east of Chicago in Indiana military veteran 👌 the weather is perfect in benguet!
Dude we spent one night in Baguio, Oh, maybe 10-15 years ago. There was ice on top of the water pails and the car had solid ice on the windshield. The daytime was beautiful in the low 70's.
I am from Saint Louis so the heat and humidity would be like going back home. However I live in Denver now and love the higher elevation and mountain air so I am turn between checking out Iloilo City or Baguio. Iloilo City may win out as I do not want to deal with any water shortages and year round warm weather might be a nice change of pace.
Love your informative videos. I just retired and will be choosing between Dumaguete/Valencia or Baguio City. both have their attractive qualities, so the decision won't be easy to make. Keep up the good work, it's making my research less difficult.
Well it’s 22 degrees Celsius here right now and I have the air conditioner on so over 20 or even down to 12 is not bad weather to me and yes I would vacation in those spots for sure.🇨🇦👍
These places don't have major hospitals and are hours away from Manila, if you even want to go there..too many expats living there also, driving up the prices.
Been to all three. Lovely environments. However could not get cash from my credit card in sagarda and had to turn back to Baguio. Other wise would have spent more time there and ventured all the way North by bus or Jeepny.
Planning to move back soon. Most likely will look into these places. Not sure I can handle all that heat and humidity every day. I’d stay away from Manila if I could.
Aloha! The temperatures there are similar to the island of Hawaii. Here I have the hot areas like Manila and other areas of this island has colder temperatures. You're correct. Baguio is congested. Our house is in Metro Tagaytay. 15 minutes walk to Twin Lakes and very low to none crimes. Clean and cool! With CTBex, u can now take a bus from Tagaytay to Manila in 1.5 hrs!

Hi Jeremy I'd say Tagaytay is best for Expats being that it's closest to Manila (hospitals, airports, etc.) If you live just outside of Tagaytay, you'll find much more affordable prices. I don't recommend Sagada for an expat however.
Love the video, these places are exactly what I was looking for. Your videos are very informative. My wife and I would love to live in one of these places, but the only thing stopping us is our 2 children. Would we be able to homeschool? How could they make friends? I always here rumors about abductions not sure if there is any truth to it. Is this a real concern for my children in these areas? Would love if you made a video dealing with moving to the Philippines with children and what life looks like for them. Keep up the great work man your doing awesome.
Hi Tyler, I'd personally suggest going for the homeschool route. Especially if you're living out in the province. If you were to live in the major cities however, there's plenty of international school for expat kids to attend.
Had a visit philippine homeland from Canada and summer humid heat is unbearable. I got irritably hot and skin rashes. Thinking of retiring backhome but seems like illnesses could rob my nest egg. Mountain Province remains my top choice and hate city skyline seems like becoming a "stone civilization".
I was born and raised (and live) in the state with the coldest ever recorded temperature in the contiguous US, and that is -70 F (Montana). And in my younger days, I worked a couple times on a crab boat in the middle of the Bering sea. I know a little bit about cold. But I have a house in the desert town of Las Vegas as well, so I am one extreme weather m'fer! 🤣😂😆🤷♂️😁

No airlines to get there, no airports is the answer, no body wants to take a long bus trip to get there.

Yes! I lived in Baguio for a year back in 2017, moved away from Ortigas Center and I absolutely loved the cooler climate there!

Baguio seems nice. I also like the fact that there is surfing in La Union which is a 2 hour drive from Baguio. Not a lot of Surfing locations in Phi. Not a lot of spring weather places. So it is neat to have both close by. To each other. (if your interested in both which I am).
Baguio is where I am going to hang out, hopefully it will start snowing there so I can teach a Filipino to be World Champion snow skier, my goal in life or something like that.
I love cooler weather, it is why I lived in the SF Bay Area forever.

Am a Fil-Canadian, semi-retired and I have been living here in Baguio City for over 7 years already! I just can't stand the heat in the lowlands! Not to mention the pollution in Manila.Baguio is the BEST place to retire in.

I'm from the northeast, spent 3 years in Alaska (Coldest temp I saw there was -66F/-54C) and 4 years in North Dakota (Around -40F/C without wind chill factored in), it can't get cold enough for me there to put on a long sleeve shirt or pants LOL. With that cold temperature you can go outside with a hot cup of coffee, pour it out and it will freeze before it hits the ground. I lived in Alaska for 25 years.
I have lived in the Chicago and Seattle areas. Baguio’s temperature is more like Seattle. I prefer the cool weather. I was visiting the Provinces in Pangasinan where I sweated so much the I developed an itchy rash.

The USA had crazy weather today, 44 F in the Northwest and snow on the ground (here in the mountain towns of Montana), and all-time highs in the whole Eastern USA (105 F in Laredo, Texas).
Listening to these elevations reminds me of my time in Colorado Springs, about 6900 ft. Cooler temperatures are good with the ability to go to warmer "everywhere else".
Well, you forgot Casiguran. The temperature is between Tagaytay and Baguio. But the difference is, it is at the beach.

@@christopherhouse7937 Aurora Province. This is shelthered by the cordilleras what makes it cool. And there is a lot of rain and therefore a lot of dschungle, what leads to this amazing climate.
Just visited your channel. Thanks for the video. I was recently visited Baguio with family for 4 days in mid-December of this year (2022). Camp John Hay is the best place to stay and will definitely revist. The temp was 71 during the day and overnight low was 62 during my stay. I had such a great time and visited the places that you mentioned and some. I always wanted to visit Baguio during the winter months and it did not disappoint. I'm planning to go back February 2024 from what people have told me that that is the coldest month to visit, which I'm looking forward to.
There appears to be a problem with mold in these places. Please consider either dehumidifiers, or perhaps ozone generators. These devices might help.

Most of the Americans you met must be spoiled, cuz if you’re from south Tx, south FL or anywhere on the gulf coast, the heat and humidity is about the same. Being there reminded me of summers at home in Tx.
I've met some Americans from Northern Cali and Chicago. That's probably why the Philippines is hot for them.

Just came back from Baguio...lots of days up in the 80F plus. Been there several times and it gets nice and cool but can get warm as well. We are also from Florida, which happens to have the exact same heat and humidity as most parts of the Philippines, which is hot as balls,
Whilst I am a huge fan of the cold (7 Korean winters in pampal), Baguio turned into a non- starter because of the massive cost premiums compared to everywhere else in PH.
For $800 US, you are only getting half as much as rentals elsewhere. To get my feet wet, on my first rental here I was looking to spend around $800 per month, but I would have gone up to $1200 for the right place. In Baguio, compared with each and every other place at which I looked, there far fewer rentals on offer, and each level (studio/1/2/3/4 bedroom) is more expensive to access. For the icing on the cake, one also gets much less value for their money.
To keep my two story joint in Davao icy, my power has been around P10,000 a month, so I'm still way out in front this way.
To those of us who don't bleed money and need to stay within a relatively tight budget, Baguio can really only be a holiday destination.
Chicago is hot in the summer time. All that concrete absorbs and radiates heat. You might get some relief on the beach of Lake Michigan, or Navy Pier.
Heading to Baguio next week, so Yeah I'll be checking out one of those places.

Thanks! Great video like always. When I visit the Philippines, I'll be interested in all 3 of those places. I love tall pine trees and cooler temperatures. Sagada is a new one to me and if it is less crowded, it's at the top of my list.
It's definitely less crowded than the first two I mentioned. Only caveat is if you like to live in nice hotels and have a pampered trip, Sagada is less developed.

Good thing is that the local government is building good sidewalks in Baguio. The local government have to continue building wide and very smooth sidewalks.
I live in Midland, Tx where the average temps are 80-110F per year so yeah moving to baguio or tagaytay is on my retirement list
absolutely I enjoy cool weather. I do not want to be a prisoner of the heat inside with aircon. I am planning my return this time to find a place to live. I was very interested in Baguio but I see all this input about how crowded it is. That is not my thing but the temperature is perfect for me. I am also going to look into Tagaytay
Great video. All my filipino friends tell me i need to retire in Baguio. Growing up in California all my life, last 30 years in San Francisco it looks like Baguio may be the place. I am trying to get there on this trip. It's great that you did not leave out the Starbucks at tagaytay. It's a must see place for coffee lovers and Starbuck fans.
Being that you're from Northern Cali Hank, I think Baguio will be right up your alley. Also, I don't care what anyone says about Starbucks, I gotta have it!
@@TheSavvyExpat here's a Vlog you need to do. Filipino coffee is outstanding and no one knows. In February when I was here I brought back 3 Kgs of beans back with me to the US. Filipinos don't even know how good their own home-grown coffee is. They all drink that unhealthy powdered crap. The problem is it's hard to find the beans. I was introduced to Filipino coffee on my way to Tagatay from a little coffee stand next to a Buko Pie shop. This coffee was on par with Kona I drank in Hawaii.
I was in tagaytay about a week ago, it was 90 degrees. I've never seen it so hot.

I was in Tagaytay in May 2015. It was 35C. 40C in Manila.
We stayed at a hotel that over looked Manila. We got to see a giant lightning storm. Bolts jumping from the clouds to the ground every 20 seconds. They were still talking about it a week later in Manila.

And you won't freeze. Perfect if you prefer ''comfortable" and not cold like @ 5,000 feet. Here it's only 2,000 feet yet rarely needs AC. - - - The 3rd place is very remote also - again like #1 with even more difficulty getting there ! -- A grueling 13 hour bus ride from Manila or almost 9 hours by car ! Doesn't have an airport close to there I could google up. - - - Don't have a very serious medical issue in either Northern location.
Great information! My only red flag was the heat. I lived on SoBe Florida and it felt like I could cut through the humidity and heat with a knife.

Nice Video! I never thought that Cold and Philippines could be used in the same sentence :D When I was a young boy, I spent two years with my family in the PI. My father was stationed at Subic Bay and I don't ever remember it being cool. Someday when I go back to visit, I'll need to make sure that I check out those three locations!

During our time Baguio was not congested like now. Peaceful so clean & beautiful houses
currently living in Alaska, the 3 you spotlight sound warm and appealing (rather than stinking hot). We hope to explore Tagaytay, Silang, and surrounding areas - hopefully to find a good balance of price/value with some altitude and room for fruit trees/garden.
Tagaytay doesn't belong here. You forgot colder places like Salvador Benedicto and Malaybalay. Also, you're wrong about the average temperature in the Philippines. It's definitely not 90 F. Maybe you meant average high temperature, but I think even that's wrong.

Your videos are always excellent, informative and fascinating. I prefer warmer weather but these places can offer quite a relief from the summer heat when in the Philippines. I've 'never been to Sagada. I'll take Tagaytay anytime but love the wide variety of fruits and vegetables in Baguio.

@@TheSavvyExpat It's been ages back since I've been to Baguio. There was an old world charm to it. The remnants of the great American presence and that amazing feeling of being on a fancy vacation outside Manila. Though it can get noticeably crowded, still, I say it's a great place to take a break.

Yep there a few other places in the Philippines that are cold. Some down south too.
My son built a house in Sagada, where I'm going to spend my last years. It's a beautiful, laidback city, where you can live close to nature, among warm, kind indigenous people, and where the general ugliness of the modern world does not intrude.
I've been researching Bagiuo for over 3 years now but due to their no smoking anywhere rules I'll probably be in between Bagiuo and La Trinidad buying a kargador 150 cc on arrival 😆 Just south east of Chicago in Indiana military veteran 👌 the weather is perfect in benguet!

Dude we spent one night in Baguio, Oh, maybe 10-15 years ago. There was ice on top of the water pails and the car had solid ice on the windshield. The daytime was beautiful in the low 70's.
I am from Saint Louis so the heat and humidity would be like going back home. However I live in Denver now and love the higher elevation and mountain air so I am turn between checking out Iloilo City or Baguio. Iloilo City may win out as I do not want to deal with any water shortages and year round warm weather might be a nice change of pace.

These places don't have major hospitals and are hours away from Manila, if you even want to go there..too many expats living there also, driving up the prices.

Been to all three. Lovely environments. However could not get cash from my credit card in sagarda and had to turn back to Baguio. Other wise would have spent more time there and ventured all the way North by bus or Jeepny.
Planning to move back soon. Most likely will look into these places. Not sure I can handle all that heat and humidity every day. I’d stay away from Manila if I could.

Aloha! The temperatures there are similar to the island of Hawaii. Here I have the hot areas like Manila and other areas of this island has colder temperatures. You're correct. Baguio is congested. Our house is in Metro Tagaytay. 15 minutes walk to Twin Lakes and very low to none crimes. Clean and cool! With CTBex, u can now take a bus from Tagaytay to Manila in 1.5 hrs!
Sweet! We had a blast at Twin Lakes. On the way back we stopped at Antonio's breakfast which was pretty good!

Hi Jeremy I'd say Tagaytay is best for Expats being that it's closest to Manila (hospitals, airports, etc.) If you live just outside of Tagaytay, you'll find much more affordable prices. I don't recommend Sagada for an expat however.
Love the video, these places are exactly what I was looking for. Your videos are very informative. My wife and I would love to live in one of these places, but the only thing stopping us is our 2 children. Would we be able to homeschool? How could they make friends? I always here rumors about abductions not sure if there is any truth to it. Is this a real concern for my children in these areas? Would love if you made a video dealing with moving to the Philippines with children and what life looks like for them. Keep up the great work man your doing awesome.
Hi Tyler, I'd personally suggest going for the homeschool route. Especially if you're living out in the province. If you were to live in the major cities however, there's plenty of international school for expat kids to attend.
Had a visit philippine homeland from Canada and summer humid heat is unbearable. I got irritably hot and skin rashes. Thinking of retiring backhome but seems like illnesses could rob my nest egg.
Mountain Province remains my top choice and hate city skyline seems like becoming a "stone civilization".

I was born and raised (and live) in the state with the coldest ever recorded temperature in the contiguous US, and that is -70 F (Montana).
And in my younger days, I worked a couple times on a crab boat in the middle of the Bering sea. I know a little bit about cold.
