Gorgeous!!!
ahhh.. what an aircraft.. "incredible again" indeed!!
Cant wait for the 747-8i..
Those GEnx engines are GORGEOUS!! and the size is much more proportionate in size to the 747 than the older engines on the 744.
I love the other CX 748 in the special livery.. just wish the light green and squares were more towards the front as well...
Thank you for this video!
Lower your eyes! I am The Queen!!!
What an awe-inspiring piece of human ingenuity! WOW!!!
I love how the sound of the A330 idling drowned out the sound of the 747 landing. lol
The 747 is a beautiful aircraft.
The A380 is big but the 747-8i is big and beautiful. The Airbus looks about as attractive as a Pizza Hut.
380 looks like a flying watermelon
apiece ofdirt I agree completely!
apiece ofdirt The 380 looks like a white brick with wings, the 747 is a piece of art.
The Queen is REBORN.. And she is sooooooo much more gorgeous..
I am proud to work with CX 744 and 748 everyday I work.
What a gorgeous regal aircraft! Thanks for uploading.
@hmasurg Speaking of the engine, they are way quiet compare to the744f EVA "heavy landing I took few days ago, the looks of it is just out of this world. That special livery is awesome looking, I am sure she will venture here since RCTP is a major freight point for CX. Thanks for watching.
@Airlineatlas The taxi way is next to the new terminal currently under construction, a 4x4 748 going off road .....
Noticed large amount of apparent dust on the taxiways. Really kicked up by the heavy weight 747-8 main gear!
Great video, Linjeflyg!
I used to teach English in Taipei.
I miss YanSuJi.
@wowdude999 Wow, they ordered the 747-8 Intercontinental, great news. Thanks.
Yes, a radio scanner.
a lot of brake dust coming off lol....love cathay 747 liveries
cant believe this is the longest aircraft now
Wooow what a amazing video nice quality well done mate
Excellent!!!...may we have your permission to feature this video on our site universaltravelreviewsdotcom?
nice work, what's with the dust on the taxiway? makes it look like 747-8 off roading..
Bro, success is not defined by the popularity of something. Yes the A-380 is more popular and a nice plane inside and out. But you said it yourself, 747 is been around forever. A-380 gets more orders, because it draws more attention from customers, so airlines get them to attract customers and of course for space. Fully double decker (great idea), but those same airlines buy Boeing planes for Cargo. So don't define success based on how popular something is.
How do you get the radio communication between the pilots and the ATC?
Fantastic video, great to watch. It will be nice to see this airplane at LAX.
It was coming from a temple nearby, that was one of the religious day. Good ear!
@imprezastiorz 總是那段 有塵埃, 可能是由於第三機場航站建設
in its simplicity perfect!
Nice clear video, and a beautiful plane! Thank you.
Thanks
+ewooll She is a beast ain't she, she really is. Gotta love the 747.
Hello, which camcorder did you use to record this vid?
Thanks. I use a Panasonic DMC FZ-100.
V good shot! What religious day was it? Where did you take this video? I may come over, so close to runway.
Dang...just a freighter. I wish I can ride in one.
beautiful boeing! great video
Excellent video and stunning B747-8! Btw, your video has ATC chats, it your video monetized by you tube? What cam you use?
how did you listen to the conversation?
@bigworld3001 Thank you for the compliment.
you sue a radio scanner to listen to air traffic?
Nice looking US plane
ahhh! now i can see it!
@titanascar Yes, 747-8 replace 747-400
ty lord
where?
on takeoff?
Thanks for watching
nice video!!
"Besides LH, no other major airline has ordered it as a commercial aircraft"?
Two other airlines have firm orders for the 747-8i, while negotiations between Boeing and several more airlines are currently in progress.
"they're all are ordering a380's"?
False. In fact some Airlines (eg; Thai Airways) seem almost desperate to get rid of their A380s. Meanwhile, interest in the 747-8i has been building following a flawless entry into service with Lufthansa. Be prepared for disappointment son
it wont beat the a380. Besides LH, no other major airline like SQ or EK has ordered it as a commercial aircraft, they're all are ordering a380's.
why don't 747-8f try to show 8 windows on its upper deck so it look like classic even now.........................
一樣勇壯的機身,但好安靜的引擎,不知道台灣何時才能有商業航班
Whats with the tribal music in the background?
Such beautiful lines on this plane, and some moron gave it a teal Dirty Sanchez.
The UPS livery would look great on this flying art, but they're not buying any, sadly..
i like cathay paciffic
@Valkenier11 That and SKYTEAM 744....
@bankerdave Thanks.
Cathay should definitely the 748 passenger version to retain its premium passengers. We do not like the A380 with its concert hall experience so this plane
will give CX the edge over Emirates and BA for sure! comma order a dozen or so and prosper!!
Agreed. Do you think Airbus or Boeing will eventually launch a product to replace the 748? Sales are doing bad now, and I certainly want to see more aircraft within the 400-460 seat range in operation.
Nice photo bomb Eva Air!
Hi I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ-100.
"Flawless entry? CEO of Lufthansa himself that said that the B747-8I ended up heavier than desired"
Weight is a different issue. Few airline CEOs are ever satisfied with an aircraft's weight. Mr Spohr is assured by Boeing that follow-on aircraft will reach desired weight.
"B747-8I will indeed not exceed the success of the A380"
Whatever you say son
new plane soooo quite
@andre1017777 Thanks for the commend.
Who said its new
Is Cathay Pacific Australian?
What, no QANTAS is Australian, Cathay Pacific is Hong Kong
@chrisr1806 Thanks.
That front stripe destroys the great lines of this plane. Cathays logo also kind of suck...
where all the windows?
Is a Cargo version, no windows
EC跟SP上的灰塵好多
i 21.11.2011 fly with this plane hong kong to seoul
Why are the wheels smoking?
+Rob Appeldorn Should be dust from construction near by
+Rob Appeldorn
Tires.
Going from zero to 120 knots with tonnes of weight on them!
+linjeflyg
Hardly.
Tire smoke.
They all do it.
Hi Bob.
I flew the 747-8F, which allowed us 5 sets of auto brake , like the 747/400. Going from set 1 2 3 4 and max.....which I never used , to avoid overheating the brakes.
What I saw (like you ), concerned me , but then I realised that the taxyways were probably the cause of the smoke.....they look dusty all the way to the take off.
Beside that, if the crew had an overheating brake, taking off would have been a no go situation....the time to wait before departing was around 45' to 50' On est the ground......which was very rare On est the -8 thanks to its carbon fiber brakes.
Cheers and good week end
too bad CX dont use -8 for passenger plane :(
yeah
Who said it was real
is so quiet
omg
@andrew06666 Thanks Andrew
hey linjeflyg
thx for the sharing. it is such a great video showing my all time favourite, 747. may i ask u sure cathay pacific had purchased the 747-8i? how do u know that. i really wish cathay pacific will fly the 747-8i, not the fat ugly a380.
Well, it may be fat and ugly but, it makes so much more income for sure. Sure it looks awkward but hey, millions of dollars pero day.
yeh. when comes to business, profit always is the first.
Flying the a380 actually would probably mean lower profit compared to a 748. The 748 has a lower fuel burn and a lower capacity, but Cathay would probably struggle to fill up the a380s, increase the expenses and lowering profits. It may get more initial operating revenue, but profits may not necessarily increase.
Cathay Pacific's Asian Routes are always/near full. I stay in the Philippines and Travel frequently and I could say, in any point of route they have in Asia, The carrier is always near full, having an A380 would surely increase their profit but, not for the asian routes as they would use it for trans-pacific flights which is costly, as far as I've heard, they aren't planning on buying an a380, 777's and 747s maybe
i'm just saying that the 747 would probably be more profitable compared to the a380. especially when they configure it to cathay's normal configuration the fuel burn of a 748 would be around the same as a 777-9X (in cathay's config). i've heard recently that they have a LF% of ~87.5. Pretty high I have to say, but I don't think it would be high enough for an a380
Good job buddy. I put him on that plane gasoline in miami.
lol I cant see it!
lol the rudder
Yea?? at least it doesn't suffer from wing cracks ! B747-8 has no intention to exceed A-380 , first of all you should learn to seperate facts from fiction ..A-380 is not successful !! its a headache for Airbus . The B777 is hugely successful.
747-8 has been developed to fill the gap between A-380 and 777..
cant take it seriously because of that mustache
and eva air.
I agree. Both the 747-8I and 747-8F are very handsome aircraft. The A380 is butt ugly in comparison.
OMG
Eva air
Smogliner..............Contrail fly Air-Pollution flug.
2"07' ;)
am not a big fan of the 747-8.
Hi andrew.
Reading your comment, tells me that you probably flew both , the 747-400 and the 747-8.
Some of my colleagues did not enjoy it.........mainly because of all the issues we experienced with the FMS.but I fell in love with this airplane.he was truly a beast with a lot more power....harder to land light......around 250 tons, compare to the 747-400, and harder to take off in a crosswind , because of his long flexible wings.....but a real joy to fly it , and very quite when airborn.tell me what you think anyway.
Cheers.
AVOIDING TREES wow so you are a pilot am not a pilot though, I've just experienced being in both and I like the 747-400 better I think it's the best 747 sorry if you don't agree with me.
Like you , I loved the 400. But we could not carry as much cargo as the -8.the 400 max takeoff was around 396 tons if my memory is good.the -8 was roughly 443 to,s.
AVOIDING TREES Okay, thanks for sharing your opinions and thoughts with me I agree with you about the cargo.
+Andrew Anane I think the 747-8 is the best looking one. Great sleek lines and love the wings....very graceful looking aircraft.
Hahahaha!
misleading content...you didnt state that it would be a freighter....im flagging this shit!!!
