Man! this video is amazing!! It´s not only the quality of handcrafting but the spirit of it´s builder what will make this plane fly outstanding!! Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
excellent video and quality. appreciate all the editing work you did just to get the different pics on calender for the vid itself not to mention great job youre doing with the wings; 2 of my favourite things all rolled into one!!!!!!! way to go mate!
Solid rivets are stronger but this wing is not designed for solid rivets in the way that you can reach everywhere with a bucking bar. The tools for pulled rivets are cheaper and its easier to set the rivets without any bad rivets. Anyway solid rivets are used in high stress areas e.g. aft bulkhead and for example 0:15 . The pulled rivets are one of the reasons that I have chosen this plane; you can do all the riveting by yourself.
It just took twelve months to build the wing skeleton ;-). The calendar in the background is about flight attendants so work related, don't worry about NSFW ;-)
That would be a new record! You have to make the pictures anyway for the buildlog and making the movie in imovie took 30 minutes. Besides that building is a fun hobby, it's not a race. It took me about 1,5 day to put the two skeletons together. It took another 4 days for the wing skins.
I was not offended but I really didn't get it ;-). I'm building the plane by myself and I guess most builders do but there are also examples of building groups to share the fun (and costs). Please check vansairforce and the teen flight building group watch?v=haqgyE25YbI
Dont be offended. I meant I would like to build a plane but do not look forward to spending that kind of time by myself. I already work by myself and live by myself.
I love what you did with the calendar in the background. Subtle! Makes it less...NSFW. Great video!
I guess I'm pretty randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Miller Odin flixportal
@Malcolm Alexis Thanks, I went there and it seems to work :D Appreciate it !!
@Miller Odin No problem xD

excellent video! nice little touches too, like the calendar changes ;-)
Very well done, I love the calendar page flips on the right wing part, nice looking girls ;-)
I like how the calendar changes months!
That's correct if you have a look at the calendar after every pulled rivet ;-)

Very impressive video !!!
The wing rib, at 1:09 looks reversed. Intentional? Do the plans call for that rib to be reversed?

what are the large copper colored things that vanish before you put the rivits in?
Yeah, the word on the homebuilding circuit is that build time for the '-12 is running upwards of 3,500 hours. ;)
good stuff !
VERY Well done.....
I've heard that Van's aircraft almost build themselves, but I have never seen it until now...
I heard that song on "sprockets"
Google for "clecoe", a temporarily fastener for sheet metal. Also check my other movie; "RV-12 Left Wing Ready" for a lot more clecoes.
Not necessarily. Sorry but I don't get the point of your question.
Or google for : RV-12 South Africa
hey, you can start making airplane noises at the very end there? :)
According plans.

Great video! Keep up the good work. If you have a second you could take a look at my account 😊🙌

are plane builders loners?
