I am really surprised that the people at BIG FM have dedicated an entire programme on the most popular singer Rafi Saab. Whenever I have listened to your station, I get to hear songs of either Kishore da (mostly), Lata Didi or Asha Tai. There are hardly any song played of Rafi Saab. Mukesh ji, Mahendra Kapoor ji, Manna Da and others are completely forgotten and ignored. Why this partiality or step-motherly treatment to other singers? Because of this approach, me and many of my friends, relatives and colleagues have stopped listening to BIG FM. It's unfair on your part. Would request you to play the songs of other singers too so that your audience number goes up. A humble request 🙏🙏
Regarding the dispute or gross misunderstanding between Rafi Saheb and Lata ji: The proponents called it 'royalty', actually it's an interest, additional income after sale based on the song already sold on negotiated, mutually agreeable price. And, for Rafi saheb, being a true Muslim, interest was forbidden like any other true Muslim. Lataji couldn't understand this concept of interest and its prohibition in any form, shape, rank or order. Also, the argument put forward by Rafi Saheb was so strong when the producers lost their investments and borne losses. Producers/directors/ sole proprietors of the film can't pay the writers, all musicians, singers and others indefinitely after the release of films. An accounting nightmare, that's what is fulm industry is facing now. Everyone has copyrights and a royalty based system. Ultimately the public enjoying the movies lost, they pay much more at the box offices to purchase movie tickets. In the most cases for the last 25 years, 500% more! Fascinating!
I have some observations. In your radio programme, half the time is spent in unnecessary ads and announcements. Even the stories that you describe are a few. In half an hour, only 2 small stories are told that too at a slow pace. I have therefore stopped listening to the programme.
