I think this was their best era- was lucky to see them during the icon tour, f awesome live it was! The begging of the f 90s! Had always found gothic & shades of god their best stuff, even better than icon, which comes 4rth for me..
You took that from the bonus DVD from the 2008 re-release, right? :) It has really bad quality (of course, it was recorded on VHS), but you can feel the raw energy in those days. PL were at this time deeper in their death-metal roots. But what really surprised me were those fans who came randomly on stage during the concert and jumped back in the audience. Not possible anymore!
Also depends on the band. At White Oak Music Hall in Houston they put a barrier for bands like Cannibal Corpse & Septic Flesh but for Municipal Waste and Razor there was no barrier
this album is absolutely the apex of their career imo. gothic is a FANTASTIC album. one of my favorite albums of all time. it completely blew me away when it released. cant tell you how many times i listened to this album over the past 30 yrs

Youre joking right... stage diving never went away, just happens at smaller venues with no fucking barrier! Try the Underworld or the Dome in London.
