You might want to do some research before you make a video. The slide had reached the end of its service life and they did announce it and have been working on it's replacement
The boat ride was originally the Western Cruise, with the dock right about where the Iron Dragon queue is now, and the boats running clockwise around the island. For the 1987 season the ride was reversed to run counter-clockwise from the new dock. Likewise the scenes were changed, the ride was renamed “Paddlewheel Excursions” and all the Indians were removed. The side wheel boats were introduced in 1997 as the new Chaos ride replaced the hoist used to remove the boats from the lagoon. The new boats had to be small enough to fit under a section of Mantis:TCFKAB when they were moved into or out of the lagoon in the off season. When Paddlewheel closed, those boats were decommissioned, so new boats (this time with no paddlewheels, fake or otherwise) were built for the Snake River Expedition.
I could see an attraction opening late and closing early being a benefit to the staffing. Opening when they have the full summer team on hand. But dang it sure was a big year for closures.
The Paddle Wheel Excursion and Snake River Expedition are different boats. I know where all 4 Paddle Wheel Excursion boats currently are, 2 have been modified, one by the park as a decoration for Forbidden Frontier, one by a person outside the park as a private boat with better seats (And is quite beautiful), one is down south somewhere operating on a river, and the last is sitting in a field.
Yep -- when I rode Snake River Expedition in its 1st season I could tell immediately that they were not the same boats as Paddle Wheel Excursion but were new with a similar size and draft, which they would need to be on the draft to not get stuck motoring around the island. Unlike Jungle Cruise at Disney the boats were not on a track under the water. The boat captains really did drive and steered the boats at Cedar Point.
that slide structure hadn’t operated in years prior to being torn out. i don’t think it’s fair to count it as closing this year when it’s been SBNO since covid
Honestly kind of sad that Snake River expedition closed. I love when coaster parks like Cedar Point take initiative to make rides that aren’t just big thrill rides, but more themed story based attractions.
I agree - my group always would hit up SRE after lunch. give you some time to digest in that a/c'd queue, calm easy ride on the river with some cheesy humor.
Snake River Falls was awesome I went on it the first week that it was open and I went on it the last week it was open which was actually kind of sad because it's one of my favorite rides next to the demon drop it's one of the only true falling rides in that place
I’m gonna be honest, I loved snake river falls, I rode it like 4 times in a row. It’s such a blast and I really miss this and all those old shoot the shoots, I love how soaked you got on them to be honest. Maybe I’m just insane but I’m gonna really miss snake river falls
It’s definitely gonna feel weird next year not seeing that there, I should have rode it more it was actually pretty fun. Just never wanted to get soked lol
The only reason that I stopped riding Snake River Falls is because on the day of my yearly appearance at the park of which I switched to after Labor Day, the ride would already be closed for the season. Other than that, it was and still is the greatest water ride ever created!
Thanks for saying, I thought the music might have been a little to loud but I guess since I already know what I’m saying that’s why I thought it was good. Thanks ❤
Forbidden frontier was announced to close last year. It's been two year since it was open. Which sucks because my oldest daughter loved the climbing structure back there
They can still reopen it, the park just needs to make updates to it and fix up the fading wooden shacks and turn those into shops/restaurants instead of being a piece of scenery like it was before
Out with the old, in with the new coasters!!!! I want CP to take the title back from SFMM for most coasters in USA! I would ride Snake River Falls or Thunder Canyon occasionally to cool off on a hot day. As long as I had time to dry, I hate being wet after sunset at a park.
@THEREALJOJO-kl6gd that's a great idea, I've never even thought about that!! I'd be totally cool with getting rid of soak city for more coasters!! I also feel the same way about frontier town, they could fit another 2 coasters there at least.

@@braddougan1919 He said he didn't "foresee it being a summer long thing". This shows less certainty than says it "will" be open in 25. This can be seen in WFMJ's youtube vid "Siren's Curse tilt coaster opening in 2025."
when i rode the pink slide at cedar points water park (the slide thats closed now) i got stuck because the tube was too thick and it was horrifying as a 7 year old 😅 i had to shimmy down the slide
The new Six Flags is ditching anything at parks that costs too much to operate or has reached the end of its lifespan. It does seem now that CP no longer has any flume rides and less slow family rides with the removal of Antique Cars and Snake River, but they still have Cadillac Cars. They want to be the roller coaster capital and they even removed Turnpike cars for Valravn. Their biggest market is probably young thrillseekers and teens. There is not much for adult wimps who won't ride coasters and fast rides but they still have the steam train, cadillac cars, antique carousel, sky ride, etc. I live near Dorney Park in PA, and they are also now a Six Flags park but Richard Zimmerman from the former Cedar Fair is CEO of the new Six Flags. Dorney has 2 former Cedar Point rides, Antique Carousel and Demon Drop.
I still mis jungle larry, the earthquake, and pirate rides.sigh...

My family friend was an actor for Snake River. He loved how it was jungle cruise like.
That’s awesome! It definitely was jungle cruise like and it was awesome
Bro remembered his password💀
Hahaha lol, that’s funny ❤
Ugh, I've reached geezer status as I remembered Mill Race (and loved it).

That’s awesome lol, I love how they all went there separate ways. I just assumed they were the same boats because they look so similar
Every hot day i was there, it was a fast way to cool down.
Scott The Woz makes theme park videos now?!?😮

I miss Luminosity. I hope they bring it back 🥹
5:26 Other than the fact there are now 2 less (maybe 3: last I saw, the middle one was still intact) classic Surf Coaster slides left in existence.
7:58 the year was 2007.
Putting in a record breaking wooden coaster would solidify this park as the best in the planet.
I rode Snake River Falls in July and at one point in the trip before that it hit a 90 minute wait 😭. I waited 45 minutes for it

I agree. What's the deal with that whimsical variety music. At least play something a little more dramatic like Def Leppard's "Foolin' ".
@@coasterseveryday while I do think the music is a bit loud, I can hear you just fine. They can too.
10:00 Skycoasters are very fun and yeah they do cost a pretty penny, but they are way safer than slingshots!
So actually I had the last ride on snake river expedition last year. It was actually really cool.
No cheese ball, I rode Snake River at least once a year.
Also you did yourself dirty never going on fling. That thing is highly underrated
I wish I would have went on it more, the view at the top of maverick was incredible!
