It’s interesting to think how a game like Sword and Shield would have been if they attempted to implement the concepts into older game styles. I can think of various areas looking in GBA or DS style, but it would be interesting trying to do something like the Wild Area
I can see places like Hulbury and Hammerlocke done very imaginatively in the GBA style, while something like Stow-On-Side's staircase to the mural could have translated well to DS graphics, à la the Aspertia Outlook. Cool idea! Hadn't thought of it until I read this comment, but that's pretty neato to think about
@maltese 84 doesn't work like that. For game Freak, a lot of Gen 1 was a learning experience on what to to improve Also, Pokemon was no where near completion in 1990. Heck, Gen 1 development probably hadn't begun
Mt. Pyre would be great. Ominous as hell but the start is peaceful. Makes sense since Mt. Pyre is a graveyard. Ominous from the ghosts yet peaceful knowing those who rest here are at peace.
Holy shit. You even got that GBA white noise in the background that makes it literally sound like it's from a Gameboy. It feels like you pulled this theme out of an alternate universe where sw/sh was gen 3 instead of the hoenn games, it's THAT accurate a reimagination
Slumbering Weald is probably one of my favorite songs in Sword and Shield, and there are a ton of bops in that OST. But this remake perfectly recaptures everything I like about the original. The sense of fear you get from entering the forest of fog. The howls of a legendary Pokemon's cries in the distance. The intermissions at the beginning and end that, despite not being full of anxiety, are still a bit uncertain. All of it translates into the GBA soundfont impressively well.
this remix is so sick, I never played the gba games but I grew up watching my cousin play them. this song was already instantly nostalgic but now I feel like I'm 5 years old again, I'm not crying you're crying.
it feels like a tape of a tragical event slowly stutter out until you see a disturbing spine chilling message. saying: Nothing In Life It’s The Best Team
someone pointed out the part at 0:55 reminds them of mother 3 on the original slumbering weald video. i think this gba version really highlights that, especially at 1.25x speed
Thank you for this! As conflicted as I feel about SwSh... its soundtrack is amazing. And you were able to translate this song into the RSE soundfont very well. ^_^
This is incredible! I’ve never liked the howling even in really all the remixes of this but it’s bearable in this. Everything else significantly makes up for it tho!
Fun fact, the weald in stumbling weald is an old Anglo-Saxon word for forest, (akin to German Wald). So the word is a a reference to wealding a weapon as the legendaries do, as well as the fact that its a forest
Hey Zame thanx for that kind of video really original and interesting. I would really like to see new ones in this styles a next time :) Oh and bravo for tour nice quality music videos ;)
This is really nice. It would probably fit a Mystery Dungeon or the Lake at the beginning of Diamond and Pearl. For some reason, I'd love to hear this in the Gen 4, or gen 5 styles.
God this is perfect!
I know right? Sounds just like the good old days
Oh, hey Truegreen7, I didn't expect you here! And agreed.
Every gen 3 fan will love this
I've seen you in the comments on like 2 different versions of this song. You've got some good taste in music my dude.
Fun fact this is literally my favorite song from sword and shield
In Galar we have howls instead of trumpets!
In Hoenn, there are trumpet Pokemon instead of dogs
@@misticalnebs2222 even better, trumpet dogs
@@misticalnebs2222 Me:"What a good boi!"
Good boi: "toot"
Not comparable in the slightest. Howls = annoying. Trumpets = my childhood

Tbh I really can't see Wild Area in 2/2.5D
@maltese 84 doesn't work like that. For game Freak, a lot of Gen 1 was a learning experience on what to to improve

maltese 84 that’s a lot of what ifs
Why does it feel like is from a PMD game?
This is Godlike omg
cause the songs in the last few games have been done by some PMD composers in gamefreak to have more variety and not just the usual pokemon experience
trueee
...also 69th like
This genuinely sounds like it was taken straight out of a Hoenn/Galar mashup. Fantastic theme.
It actually fits so perfectly. I could see this theme on Mt. Pyre or the Sky Pillar
Mt. Pyre would be great. Ominous as hell but the start is peaceful. Makes sense since Mt. Pyre is a graveyard. Ominous from the ghosts yet peaceful knowing those who rest here are at peace.
i agree
...also 69th like
That howling synth gave me chills oh my god
ryan_uwu same
Can you do more new to old conversions like this? It's so peaceful and nostalgic... I love it.
Sure! they're coming!
Seconded
I thirded this
ALLLLLL MIGHTOOOOOOO!!!
I also fourth this idea
0:55 I can imagine walking into Turnback Cave for the first time in Diamond and Pearl, and the song instantly starts here
The rayquaza looks like he did a makeup tutorial but used paint instead of actual makeup and it scares the crap out of people
Great, now I can't unsee the mental image.
Thanks, I hate it.
I think ive heard this song in every handheld format by now. Gotta admit that its a good song though.

How can something be this new and feel nostalgic
Shiny hunting in Ruby and Sword at the same time right now, and this music is perfect.
0:57 I already imagined this before even listening the part
Holy crap! You even added the background vocals!
this remix is so sick, I never played the gba games but I grew up watching my cousin play them. this song was already instantly nostalgic but now I feel like I'm 5 years old again, I'm not crying you're crying.
Your gba versions of modern songs are awesome, the best part is the possiblity we have to see how pokemon music evolved mainly since 3 gen
it feels like a tape of a tragical event slowly stutter out until you see a disturbing spine chilling message.
saying:
Nothing In Life It’s The Best Team
Galar's soundtrack reminds me of Emerald, Platinum, and HG/SS. I love the music.
When I hear this music it’s like I’m waking in the park
Can I say this sounds like it would have fit those GBA mystery dungeon game so well as a dungeon theme.
The 3 dislikes are the wolves duo and eternatus because they didnt exist yet and this saddens them
someone pointed out the part at 0:55 reminds them of mother 3 on the original slumbering weald video. i think this gba version really highlights that, especially at 1.25x speed
how does one feel nostalgia for a song in a game never played, in the style of another game they've never played?
Thank you for this!
As conflicted as I feel about SwSh... its soundtrack is amazing. And you were able to translate this song into the RSE soundfont very well. ^_^
I LOVE THIS!!!
This made me emotional. I can't tell you how much this brightened my day. Thank you. You've done a wonderful job. ❤
This definitely would’ve fit for Petalburg Woods, Meteor Falls, Mt Pyre, Chimney or even just Sootopolis City.
Damn This Loops So Well I Didn't Even Notice!
GBAそのものだ…すばらしい!
this channel never fails to deliver 😌👌
Why does it fit so well?
Omg the perfect remix exists!
This is incredible! I’ve never liked the howling even in really all the remixes of this but it’s bearable in this. Everything else significantly makes up for it tho!
AustralianSchnitz the howling is the best part imo but this is just as good
Brady YT fair enough. Everyone has different tastes and I respect it.
This is a great song, and it really works in this sound font. Very adventurous feel.
Definitely very MD-esque.
Fun fact, the weald in stumbling weald is an old Anglo-Saxon word for forest, (akin to German Wald).
So the word is a a reference to wealding a weapon as the legendaries do, as well as the fact that its a forest
This had more effort put into it than the base games of Gen 8
agreed
Not true at all lol
so good. need more gba conversions in my life! you are so talented
I've gone towards GBC inserting, I must get back into my GBA inserting days. Nice to see it getting more appreciation now.
Love the transition at 0:58
you came a long way since your first GBA battle theme. Nice.
This sounds so fucking cool! Amazing as always.
You just earned a sub! That was AWESOME!!!
zame I absolutely ADORE your demake remixes! you're awesome!
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
To be honest, this theme was practically made for this soundfont! Its simplistic and slow nature lets it convert beautifully to the GBA era!
the howling synths........ holy shit
Omg YESS I need more SWSH music in gbs soundfont!! Especially your music its so amazing!!
Holy crap this is a good conversation... Well done my guy 👌
Sounds so good
so nostalgic that it hurts!
This is perfect.
Actually so amazing, please don't stop what you do
This is really pleasant to listen to, probably because tripped into nostalgia town.
Wow this is pretty amazing. I love it
So glad I found your channel! You do amazing work, keep it up!
It fits so well, why???
Dude, this is sick!
This is creepily too good o-o.
This is so good it nostalgic
Oh what the oh god this is so unexpectedly jarring how beautiful this sounds!

Just incredible dude thanks
Amazing
Ahh hoenn the region of pure nostalgia
Hey Zame thanx for that kind of video really original and interesting.
I would really like to see new ones in this styles a next time :)
Oh and bravo for tour nice quality music videos ;)
Oh wow this is perfectly done! Nice!!!!
Well done, this is definitely true to RSE and would fit well in those games.
Wow, this is really good!
God it's perfectly adapted
Pure genius
God I love this series
That bassline man
As good as expected
Never clicked a notification faster in my life.
Amazing! Good job, mate!
Edit: Why does it give me Route 113 vibes?
Might be the best song from SWSH!
Definition Of Pog
Beautiful
YEEESSSSSS!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤!!! (really that's all i can say because it's so beautiful that i'm speechless)
Sounds like a build-up to the final battle against the antagonist leader.
This is really nice. It would probably fit a Mystery Dungeon or the Lake at the beginning of Diamond and Pearl. For some reason, I'd love to hear this in the Gen 4, or gen 5 styles.
All this time later and it's just so... *right*
Haha this gives so much memories as if it really was in emerald. Great remix !
I love this!
it is very well done
Damn he don’t miss ...
Beautiful!
WOAH WOW
This is going to come out of left wing, but the first part reminds me of Cave Story, mostly the Balcony. (and that's a good thing)
How does this transfer so well into this soundfont??
Lol I freaked out when I got the notification
So good!
Perfection!
10/10
