Exploring Aves Apoxie Sculpt

In this video I'm trying out Aves Apoxie Sculpt for the first time. In the video I make 3 pendants and a ring. One of the super fun things about Apoxie Sculpt is that you can embed beads and other objects in the clay and it will be permanently attached when the clay cures. In this video, I'm making jewelry, but you could use Apoxie Sculpt for all kinds of sculpture and mixed media applications!

The Apoxie Sculpt I used was green. It smelled like Fritos. Seriously, I binged on Frito Lays for about a month after my class. I didn’t wear gloves and had no problem. The best advice we got was to use hand sanitizer to smooth the clay as you work. Enjoy!

You can use a Dremel tool to smooth Aves clay as well. I just buy several grits of little sandpaper bits. Cheap n easy!

A bit of sand paper 220 or finer should smoothen out the inside of that ring

I subscribed! The faces came out really nice! I was wondering whether you know if white can be turned to black by adding enough mica powder or would that make the clay too dry to make it saturated enough to be a true black. I am trying to avoid buying both white and black if I can help it. I want to be able to make any color with the one pound jar I'm planning to buy for a number of different projects. I've seen people do other colors but haven't seen them do black that way.

It's a silicone sheet.

For molds use a little Vaseline so the aves doesn't stick to your mold and a little aves can go quite a ways
