    There are framelines for 135 pano in camera and also in the external viewfinders for the 43mm and 50mm lenses. They're the short stubby lines on both sides, top and bottom.

    nice vid. quick tip: the two small notches on the left & right of the viewfinder assist with framing with the pano adapter.

    This was such a helpful video! I’m an Xpan owner, but have always felt limited by the 45mm f/4’s speed. It’s really closer to f/5.6 with the center filter on, which I leave on all the time. It ends up being a roughly 25mm f/3 in 35mm equivalent.
    What I want to do is use the Mamiya 7 system with their 43mm lens. It’s equivalent to a 21mm f/2.2, which is both wider and faster (by a stop!) than the Xpan 45mm with center filter. Plus, minimal vignetting as you mention.
    Would love to do a temporary trade with someone who owns a Mamiya 7 + 35mm kit and ideally the 43mm f/4.5 in exchange for the Xpan for a few months :)
    A guy can dream…

    Hi Chris,
    I’m thinking to buy a Mamiya 7, I just have one question how are you framing your shots with kit?

    how does framing and focusing work in the mamiya 7 range finder?

    Try to tint shift the images in Lightroom. Some scanners give the excessive green hue to photos and I realised simply adding purple corrects this

    You should pickup a Lil plastic chip to replace the coin so that you don't scratch your gear plus you can get it on a clip so you can have it attached to your keys

      @@whoschrischu also another alternative could just be using a card I tend to use use my uni ID which is scratched up because of this but always useful

    if there's already a guide in the viewfinder for framing, and if you end up scanning the negatives anyway, isn't it better to just use 120 film & crop the scanned file?

    • @mike747436
      @mike747436 2 роки тому

      17/18 shots with a 36 roll of 135 film vs 10 with a 120 roll for pretty much the same price.

    just converted (to 24x65) my newly acquired 💯 years old 6x9 folding camera and shot a roll of expired colour - will see what I get - it required only bit of cleaning and works perfectly- costed me €15.
