While sweetly I played on my viol,
In measures so soft and so slow,
Old Time stopped the shade on the dial,
To listen to Rosin the Bow.
Very nice! I am just starting and hope to play this well one day.
It's beautiful and it cuddles my poor tortured heart.🥲💗
starting with a waltz time ... and ending with a jig time ... beauty ! I suppose you could use that format with a lot of these wonderful jigs and reels, eh ? ...
This morning is the first time i have ever gotten the hand-rhythem down to actually be able to “fiddle” (sort of 😊) thanks to this and your other lesson on bowing. It’s finally all coming together. This is my first fiddle tune; been working on it for about 3 weeks, and it’s finally starting to come together. You must know how exciting that is; you were there once a long time ago. Thank-you for bringing me along with you!!! You are the greatest teacher!!!
so so beautiful, the melody, the playing and more than those..the VIOLINIST..¡¡
Beautiful. The sound of the people's soul ;). I feel myself in the South Carolina, being in Ukraine ;).
Katie's violin is superb!
Liz, I just discovered your channel while dusting off the bow and picking up my fiddle after a long lay off. You play so beautifully! I love to just play along with you making harmonies to go along with your skilled lead fiddle. I'm a veteran and your playing settles my spirit. Thank you Liz, you are a gift from God.
Fantastic
For the first minute and 49 seconds, Liz, you take this classic out of the saloon and into the boudoir as a tender love song, then -- ZIP -- you finish it out as the saloon ballad with which I've always been familiar. Beyond Brilliant!
Thanks Noah!!
Love the way you played the tune! Definitely my favorite intepretation on UA-cam. It'd be wonderful if you could do a tutorial for Rosin The Beau! Thank you so much for sharing your music with us ❤
Another fantastic rendition, what a great style of playing you have and very nicely recorded too.
Change from 3/4 to 6/8 awesome... fantastic rendition... skillful performing.. congrats... special mention for your special cute smile
Fabulosity !
What an absolutely beautifully played tune. Thank you.
You have a lovely touch Liz.
Thank you!!
OK, that does it!
I'm going to learn this one too!
PS: GREAT tone! Great touch!
Beautiful! So is your antique fiddle and so are you ♥
I had to let Barron Collins Hill know that I wasn't practicing my mandolin, I've been fiddling around with you 🥰 LOL I just found your channel and have watched way too many of your videos. I love them all. Like your students know, you're so cool!
I love your channel. And playing. On top of that you are magical. I am an old fart, a self taught fiddler in the Cape Breton tradition.,,, i grew up with it. That said I have seldom seen a woman who made me wish to be young again...but you are one for sure., Interesting your bow hold is more folk than classical.
The bowing!!!
So beautiful, Liz. You are a musician and a magician inhabiting one body and sharing one marvelous spirit!
Beyond beautiful ❤
Beautiful playing.
Beautiful
Love your choice of tunes.
Gorgeous!
Beautiful 😁
Che meraviglia ❤️🧡
Wow.
Love to have a lesson on this turn
Well done 👍🏼 ❤️👏
1:52 Hurrah for the choise of the nation,
Our chieftain so brave and so true,
We'll go for the great reformation,
For Lincoln and Liberty too!
We'll go for the son of Kentucky,
The hero of hoosierdom through,
The price of the suckers so lucky,
For Lincoln and Liberty too!
They'll find what, by felding and malding,
Our railmaker statesman can do,
For people are everywhere calling,
For Lincoln and Liberty too!
And up with our banner so glorious,
The star spangled red white and blue,
We'll fight 'til our banner's victorious,
For Lincoln and Liberty too!
no.. it's irish not american
Demography matching the beautiful tune.
♥️♥️♥️
Beautiful piece and you play it so well.could you do a lesson on it sometime. Thanks
I really like the music and how you play it, can you make a tutorial?
Hearing the first part, have been wondering where the usual smaller harmony-Liz was hiding...but then realized you might have just been droning the adjacent string (hope you understand my english...)...anyway, another tune to learn...
Mini harmony-Liz is off screen this time :) But she is still there!
Is this a typical way to play Rosin the Beau (at the slower speed)? What a tune at each speed! Thank you. (At first I thought this was one of the tunes from the TV series Outlander!)
I love this one. It's usually played faster, I think, but my brother who is an *amazing* fingerstyle guitarist enjoys playing it slowly. And I picked that up from him!
John McCusker did a lovely slow version on his first, self-titled album.
I really struggle with jigs. Do you put slurs in or change bowing direction with each note?
Hello! I like all your videos, do you think you can teach to play that music?
Yes, Liz, can you teach a beginner to play ? In what order should we take your lessons ? And what and where can one buy a decent fiddle ?
is not played live really..is a recording..
