- Today I'm taking a look at the Yamaha PSS-160, a keyboard from 1986 that uses square-wave synthesis. I explain the features of the keyboard, demonstrate the various melody sounds, and use it to play two version of the Scottish folk tune "Corn Rigs are Bonnie".

The best part about this keyboard is the melody recorder because of the way it quantizes what you play into it and how it’s essentially a looper that you can keep going by hitting the play button over and over again alongside a drum beat

Most of the Wicker Man songs have a basis in British folk music - mostly they took existing lyrics (sometimes from multiple sources) and wrote new melodies for them.
