If someone hasn't already said it, the 'intro' thing people are referring to is the backwards message whispered at the end of it. Gravity Falls has a built-in ARG where the end credits scene has a code of letters and the whisper in the intro is to decode it for a cool easter-egg. Most of them are just for fun, but some reference some lore for the series.
@@DrSuperLuigiSeth1 Like, it's still important for the backwards message, as that's how we learned to decode the cryptograms (although we probably could've figured it out eventually without the hint, it made the whole process easier).
I like how they laugh at dipper for looking to see if it was true when they probably would do the exact same thing if the girl they liked was wearing a bikini
I mean why criticize men of culture? After all, we all like clothes and perhaps we just care about women looking good in a bikini and them feeling happy about it. )
I lost it when Stan said it was a time to have a man to man talk about the birds and the bees and explained the pituitary gland! LOL! “he may be little, but he’s got BIIIG plans.” Having seen Jerry Maguire, I cracked up when Stan said, “Shhhh, you had me at ‘shut up old man.’ 😂
13:21, 14:03, 14:33 Dipper kissing Mermando was the most cringest part in that episode. Mabel got her first kiss from a merman. She also did a Free Willy reference 🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️😘😘😘🤣🤣🤣
Stan: “Shhh. You had me a shut up, old man.” Mabel: (In Dipper’s Body) “NOOOOOOOOOOO!” That part gets me every time. This episode was definitely a Freaky Friday.😂😂🤣👏
The original airing of this episode coincided with an event on Disney Channel called "Freaky Freakend", where a bunch of shows had body swapping plots. I've always wondered if Disney Channel requested the shows have body swap episodes or they noticed that a lot of their shows had body-swapping plots and took advantage of it. I'm especially interested because unlike the other shows, Gravity Falls has a continuous plot and would be harder to move the date of the episode's airing
7:48 “Burn the child!” Funny story there. The original line was gonna be “blind the child.” But Disney said no, so they changed it to burn…which is arguably worse XD The VA for Mermando is Matt Chapman, also the VA for Homestar Runner and Strong Bad. And my boy Steve from Owl House, another show similar to this that ROCKS. Highly recommend. Pool Check’s VA is once again John DiMaggio, aka Bender, Jake the Dog and Schnitzel. I LOVE how fucking intense that man is. I’m pretty sure that solitary kid is still there to this day. “Carpet Diem” cemented Old Man McGucket as my third favorite character, tied with Soos and behind Mabel and someone you’ll see VERY soon…
I love Mermando's Voice Actor, Matt Chapman, he's the creator of Homestar Runner, one of the greatest webtoons of all time. It would definitely be cool if you guys could react to it one day, but it's not exactly like a show/movie so I wouldn't expect it to really happen. By the way; the intro only changes during the final three episodes of the show on S2.
The old man, on the other hand, didn’t care either way. He said “I’LL STILL EAT’CHA!” He was just running around town, “McGucket, McGucket, McGucket”, till he saw something he could eat! And then he had silverware in his beard! “That’s what they all say”, how many talking pigs has he eaten?! He's walking around like a Pokémon, saying his own name - what's he doing?!?
I said this before, the whispering at the end of the intro is a backwards message that changes. Also there are secret messages at the end of the credits.
The one thing different about the endings every episode is the backward whispers at the end of each intro says something different there actually creepy the first time you hear it at night😅
The only thing that changes in the intro is the backmasked whisper at the very end that contains a hint to decoding the current cypher - at least in season 1. In season 2 the intro changes twice, after certain events in the show. I'm not counting a couple of episodes where the intro gets shortened, to make time for a slightly longer episode; technically those intros are "changed", but there is nothing _new_ in it; it's just the same intro, cut down for time.
The funny thing about Stan giving "Dipper" the talk was that he was trying to be a good uncle, but he didn't understand what was going on.
Mega Soos W

The intro doesn’t get REALLY important til the last quarter of Season 2.

@@ashesGeek 😆 that’s what I’m saying that they shouldn’t judge dipper or anyone else for doing it

At 15:41, one of the bottles has Mabel's name backwards.
Keep in mind of the glasses that Stan picked up all of a sudden.
13:39 He said #11! Such language!

6:40 to answer your question most people don’t open their eyes underwater.
11:32 To be honest, I’d fall for this too. 😅
Fun fact: Pool Check was one of the people who chased dipper in his “Voice Over” story from the last eps

I loved the part when the captain said "feast on his flesh" instead of repotted on the news crews.😅
I’ve been waiting for this. I love your reactions, and gravity falls is just the best.

In every intro, there are words being said when the title pops up. If you reverse it, you'll find the secret message.

Also, we get a little sprinkle of lore in episode 16.
26:29 Well, Mabel’s traumatized 😂😂😂
