I cheered too. I told the Wings fans next to me when we were going into OT Kane was gonna score and I wouldn't be mad about it, lol. That was such a great night with everything going on despite the final score.
While nowhere near the same players, I feel like Kane gives the Wings a big part of what they lost when Datsyuk left. Especially with zone entries and on the power play.
Wasn't implying anything about class of player, just differences in playing style and skill sets. This video just made me realize those areas where they have similar impacts are areas where the Wings have really needed some help for a while.
@@ResonantFreak1 agree w you there. usually when people use 'nowhere near the same' type language it refers to quality not just style. As a wings fan if you told me like 10 years ago he’d be tearing it up at 35 years old in a red wings jersey I simply would have just chuckled. He’s a legend! One of my favorite players ever from one of my least favorite teams lol he’s always looked great in those hawks jerseys but seeing him in the winged wheel gives me chills. I was definitely one who was doubtful of Kane's return (I made a whole video about it lmao). But I'm glad I've been proven wrong - he's been amazing to watch and I hope he's able to continue producing like he is. Great video as always!
I never understood the arguments against signing Kane. There was nothing to lose. If it didn't work out, you lose nothing, but if it does you add a lot to your team.
I had the benefit of having had a hip resurfacing surgery as a hockey player. It's a weird type of injury that leads to it - it doesn't happen all at once like a blown knee or shoulder or whatever, its a slow decline into increasing pain that interrupts your skating, which explains his numbers dropping over the past couple of years. And then when you do get the surgery it's an incredible relief provided it goes well. It was also a much, much easier recovery and rehab than my ACL surgery. Makes perfect sense to me that he's doing as well as he is.
As a ranger fan I was bummed we didn’t resign Kane. I knew he was going to bounce back from his surgery I just knew it. We I’m glad Detroit got him. The level of fun having him there is worth the loss for my rangers
I still have a deep seated disdain towards Kane as a Canucks fan who can’t listen to Chelsea Dagger to this day, but it’s hard not to get chills seeing Kane score that goal in his return to the city that defined his career.

As a hawks fan watching this man dominate like no other my entire life, I cannot tell you how frustrating it was having everyone count him out completely after one below average season. Man is a once in a lifetime player, still is appreciate the greatness
An underrated part of Kane's game, as a smaller player, has been his ability to avoid getting beaten up physically over the years. The hip thing was a result of years of wear and tear, but through most of his career he avoided big injuries that resulted in many games missed. You can appreciate this more as you see the repeated injuries to a player like Jack Hughes, who is as close to vintage Kane as any player in the league, both in style of play and physical appearance. Unless Hughes manages to find the magic formula for avoiding the big hits the way Kane did he's going to have a short and ultimately disappointing career.
not just kane is proving everyone wrong this team is. many people in the media put the red wings towards the bottom of the league even worse then the sens and sabres.
I've been a Wings fan since 1988, I was a Kane hater until the day he signed with Detroit. He's exceeding expectations, people keep saying "Detroit needs an star player to do anything" well we got one. Raymond may develop into something special, Kane has been unbelievable since coming to Detroit. I've loved watching him play and the team winning again this season.
I havent gotten past the 1 min mark, and i want to say thank you. As a life long wings fan, i was hoping for the signing as soon as we got debrincat. I wasnt sure kane would be on our team till next yr, but im glad someone besides me can see the benefit of him on the wings......now for the rest of the vid
Knowing how bad his hip was? Yeah, I can see why he just didn't even look the same in his face, let alone his play with the Rangers. He looked good, but not like Patrick Kane good. His face looked defeated. He looks revived out there in Detroit. You love to see it. Not a red wings fan, but I'm a hockey fan. Kudos to Patty
Great to finally see the Wings getting some attention in your breakdowns :) I was stoked when they announced Kane was coming to Hockeytown and it's been an absolute joy to watch him play - LGRW!
Love the videos as always, was hoping to see a little more team element here though. The wings after all do have the most players with 10+ goals in the league right now with 12! Definitely cool to hear Kane talk about how he believes the wings could be a strong 7 game series team regardless of opponent
After getting Debrincat, I saw a lot of wings fans pretty happy with our offense. We were running hot, for sure, but I thought our game plan was pretty clear and sure enough, teams adjusted in the subsequent showings. Getting Kane, even if he wasn't going to be as good as he's been, was something I thought would be a perfect fit and a great feather in our top 6 with his passing and IQ alone. No offense to Raymond or the other forwards, but Larkin and Debrincat would regularly be hung out to dry in the O zone, and needed someone who could give them more options. We had decent depth before, but we have a SOLID Offensive squad from front to back now. With the goaltending shoring up, our defensive play had been our last soft spot (I would argue against calling it weak, just a little soft) and we've done a good job adjusting in the last few games. I'd still like to swing for one more step or half step up there to make me feel good about the team from front to back, but I have a hard time picking who I'd send away or down.
Allowing Razor to work on that second line has been great too, since his competition isn't so difficult there, he's been able to dominate where as when he was on the top line he looked out of place at times.
Well, mostly this was showing Kane appreciation, but I'll take it. Would love for a more in depth Wings video, but I get the feeling that he's not truly sold on the whole team yet. Maybe once we clinch a playoff spot he'll be a believer.
I chose to be optimistic about Big Daddy Kane coming here to Michigan and vindication is sweet. I reasoned that his assets were his hands and his brain.
It’s tough to say as a Wings fan but I’ve never not loved Kane. Even back when Detroit was in the west and getting whooped by the Hawks, he’s just a joy to watch. I’m happy to see him as a Red Wing, because he reminds me so much of Datsyuk. God I miss him
Kane's not been as bad defensively as I thought he would have been, he still has such excellent stick work, but man that's an area of Datsyuk's game that the Wings still haven't been able to replace.
To be a good hockey club you gotta get lucky, and to be lucky you got to be a good hockey club. Special teams win championships. Their comebacks in the third show a grit and determination you can’t teach. That’s a club that’s love eachother
Man, you have the best hockey channel on youtube, but youre underselling my team here. The wings are on a 6 game winning streak, and have the second best record in the league since the new year. The wings are back in a big way. Kaner is a big 7:54 part of that to be sure. Alex lyon has revived faith in the goaltending situation here, and they have played tight defensively over the last month. We have the most double digit scorers in the league, showcasing depth alot of teams cant boast. If yzerman can package a piece up like berggren and bring in a good 2nd pairing defenseman, the wings will be a menace in the post season. Its been too long since the winged wheel was in the playoffs. We end that drought in 24.
Kane has brought the sauce back to Detroit. I never thought I would be a huge Kaner fan as a lifelong wing fan. His patience and hockey iq is incredible. Love this team rn.
His skating has gotten so much better since last year. Hell, it seems like every game his skating improves. It was rough his first few weeks back from surgery. But he's doing crossovers and bursts just fine now. The thing with Kane is that he is very deliberate about his speed, choosing his pace. He doesn't have Larkin or McDavid speed, but he never did. There have definitely been moments since the All-Star Break where I've been floored that Kaners can still get up to speed that quickly.
I hope Detroit signs him until he retires, but I fear he's going to re-sign with the Blackhawks. Kane has always reminded me of Pavel Datsyuk. They both skate the same way and no one matches their soft hands.
Kane has been my favorite player im Chicago for 16 years! I watched every cup win playoff game & all! When I seen him go to New York they had no leadership the worst I’ve seen BUT with Detroit he looks like he hasn’t skipped a beat & I love it!
This wings team is special and Kane is a perfect fit. Doesn’t need to be the superstar on the team. He is still very good. But he doesn’t have to carry the entire load
5:09 Patrick Kane has never been a good defender. I loved watching the Hawks during their 3 cup run and never did I think that Kane was a 2-way player. He was a liability on defense. But it didn't matter because his magic on offense more than made up for it.
Kane's entire career has been built around hockey IQ, hands, and the ability to be effective without putting himself in risky situations. He hasnt raced for the puck or engaged physically since he was young. He has always avoided risky situations as best as possible... as a Hawks fan i remember frequently being disappointed in him shying away from puck races or avoiding the puck if he sees he might get hit. But eventually i realized this is part of what makes him such a good player. The way he plays the game makes him someone who will be a superstar until he retires. With his hip injury i never doubted how good hell be when he is healed, the only thing i would doubt is whether or not he can get through it

I had no doubts about adding him to roster - always considered him as still-PRO player with solid offensive impact. But, on the other hand - not sure how long can he stay healthy - we´re lucky if he can. And on the third hand - I don´t really think he´s gonna be the missing piece of making Wings to be real contender - like to remind Coffey in 90´s. But he´s going to make impact on other players and kick on winning culture in this team, while this is something the team was missing for a long time. Considering that, he´s 12/10 move Steve did. I can see bright future, long time no see. lgrw!

The game winner at Chicago if you slow it down and watch him lock eyes with the goalie and then at the circles he looked straight right looking the pass (he knew nobody was there) that throws the goalie, then eyes locked back staring a hole in the goalies head he shows by his blade angle 5 hole in a half a second he rotates his hands opening the blade and roofs it. All of this in about 2.5 seconds. He is utterly among the very special. A talent so far beyond the rest of the league
Hate the fact when the rangers had the opportunity to have kane he wasn’t all there as a player. Now he’s back and we lost that opportunity. Last year on paper at trade deadline with Kane and Tarasenko we should have went real deep. Sad but happy to see him Get back into his game
I cant lie seeing kane in a red wings jersey is werid because he was such a good rival for so long but i love watching dude play some hockey. Kane is one of the best to ever do it. My favorite American player.
The old man version of Kane is very efficient with his energy, which makes him look lazy. But he's not young anymore... he NEEDS to use his IQ to create advantages. Whereas the younger McDeuce and MacKinnon use their acceleration to create gaps, Kane "cheats" aka predicts possession changes. Great vid.
Let's face it, the NHL is a much better league when Detroit is in the playoffs. Kaner and Cat are a big reason for this current success. I really hope we extend him, because Kane at 70% is still better than most forwards in the show! I still give the majority of the credit to Larkin; It's no doubt his hockey club!
when he got caught up in Buffalo years ago it wasn't looking good for a while, but his maturing made him a pleasure to be a fan of. I have blackhawks red with his name on the back and never do that with jerseys. the cheering away on that ot goal is evidence, he has the keys to the city when he wants them. same with our captain.
He's been a solid player for years. If you underestimate someone for any reason especially a professional athlete they will say "F.U" with their actions rather than words. Hip displacement and surgery is no joke. It's a balk joint where a skaters power comes from. In all aspects of life . Foundation is key. Hence why we do jumping pistol squats over each line sometimes.
Today is Feb 27 2024. If you would have told me one year ago that Chicago was gonna let Kane go, and end up at Detroit in the next year I would have never believed that. So glad it happened. I thought the Rangers had him locked down, so when I first saw Detroit pick him up I was like "no way, gtfo". Grateful for it for sure.
Everyone who has watched more than a handful of Hawks games of the last 2-3 years knew that the hip was really bothering Kane and slowing him down. When he announced he was finally going to have surgery many of us knew he was going to bounce back strong. If teams can hide his defense with some strong linemates he's going to have a very long career.
The relatability to Patrick Kane's standpoint; whatever you do in life, it's got to be awesome to come back successfully, when everybody counts you out As washed up.
I was.all.over the forums telling people Kane the wings was a match made in heaven and was mocked mercesslessly. People have got to stop telling people who actually played hockey what's what. We know this game better than those who've never played

As hawks fan. I am so happy he doing well and he will always be welcomed at Chicago
He's still beloved in Chicago though it ended badly Showtime is always on
As a lifelong Hawks fan it’s hard to see him with Detroit but at the same time good for him
The game winner at Chicago if you slow it down and watch him lock eyes with the goalie and then at the circles he looked straight right looking the pass (he knew nobody was there) that throws the goalie, then eyes locked back staring a hole in the goalies head he shows by his blade angle 5 hole in a half a second he rotates his hands opening the blade and roofs it.
Sad but happy to see him
Get back into his game
Phenom Content and Analysis 🎉
Go WINGS
Dr Su did my resurfing in NYC at HSS .Dude is the best...
1:28 This is the same surgery Brent seabrook had, and he wasnt able to play in the nhl ever again
Yea but he's much bigger and much more physical. Also he had surgeries on both hips and his shoulder.
@@dr.loomis4221 Did you see he wasn't able to walk for a year? He's much better now. He's on skates coaching
This was due to his back
I cant lie seeing kane in a red wings jersey is werid because he was such a good rival for so long but i love watching dude play some hockey.
Great vid.
Thank you for your channel! You have inspired me to properly learn the chess game within hockey😂
Solid analysis. Good video!
His setup passed are so good. Fabbri yesterday barely had to move his stick to score.
feels so weird still to see him in anything but a hawks jersey, but he's absolutely killing it in detroit
Love seeing my wings back in respectable form. And Kane is a big part of it.
Dude I love these videos and this helps me so much with my own game
He's been a solid player for years. If you underestimate someone for any reason especially a professional athlete they will say "F.U" with their actions rather than words.
Hip displacement and surgery is no joke. It's a balk joint where a skaters power comes from.
In all aspects of life . Foundation is key.
Hence why we do jumping pistol squats over each line sometimes.
As a Wings fan, I'm glad to have him. :D
Showtime in Detroit 🎉🎉🎉
Today is Feb 27 2024. If you would have told me one year ago that Chicago was gonna let Kane go, and end up at Detroit in the next year I would have never believed that. So glad it happened. I thought the Rangers had him locked down, so when I first saw Detroit pick him up I was like "no way, gtfo". Grateful for it for sure.
I love your vids and I love Red Wings!!!
After the wings ran 25 years in a row into the post season in my lifetime I would love to see them get back to the mix again
I mean .... If I was a Blackhawks Fan AND at that Game I would be going nuts for that Goal..
Kaner " Some of us aare keeping an eye on ya ! Anything can happen when you have a good team around you ! Good luck Detroit" .
Patrick Kane and Joe Pavelski are my current generation favorite American players. Here's hoping Pavs gets his this playoff year.
Amazing video honestly. Immediate fan
Do a breakdown for the Blues!! Love the content!
Everyone who has watched more than a handful of Hawks games of the last 2-3 years knew that the hip was really bothering Kane and slowing him down. When he announced he was finally going to have surgery many of us knew he was going to bounce back strong.
If teams can hide his defense with some strong linemates he's going to have a very long career.
you explained it so well! great video
awesome breakdown
Do one on the epidemic of Zach Benson phantom calls. It's wild how many times he gets penalized for nothing
Patty could sit his happy ass down right on the ice next to the keeper for all I care😂 happy to have him, had bleed new life into this wings team.
The relatability to Patrick Kane's standpoint; whatever you do in life, it's got to be awesome to come back successfully, when everybody counts you out As washed up.
mad respect
not a blackhawk fan and not an american. but how can you not love and root for Kane?
that far side snipe was disrespectful
Mr. Clutch, Kane is the best player in the big moments bar none!
Yzerman was a genius for picking him up.
Dudes a hero here in Detroit.
The Red Wings wings exist on this channel!
Dude, Datsyuk was the king at takeaways. You should check his defensive game out.
Number 19 went with Risky Business 88 and the bet paid off. Go Wings!
I was.all.over the forums telling people Kane the wings was a match made in heaven and was mocked mercesslessly. People have got to stop telling people who actually played hockey what's what. We know this game better than those who've never played
