Tonight we had the greatest dumpster diving haul that we have ever had, or have ever seen! Tonight while dumpster diving at Barnes & Noble, we found an absolute ton of merchandise, easily worth over $1,000! This came at a perfect time, because we were having absolutely no luck GameStop dumpster diving, but were absolutely amazed to find this dumpster diving haul! This video is just part 1 of 5 videos that will be coming out in the next week or so, while we go over everything we found! You remind me so much of a couple of my grandsons! They are 20, 18, 17, and 15 ys old. The oldest started "road running", "roadside shoping" , dumpster diving, & attending auctions with me when he was about 3ys old. Some of the others followed in his footsteps. I started dumpster diving in 1983 and now I'm a grandma of 8 kids. It's nice to see a young person that doesn't have to buy brand new high dollar items and can get enjoyment from what they find. Thanks for donating and helping out others with your finds.

I know this is an old video but, I’m a fairly new sub and I’m catching up on your videos. This waste should be CRIMINAL! Absolutely unbelievable. I didn’t know that dumpster diving was an actual thing until I started watching your channel. I’m glad to know that you donate much of what you find. Keep on keepin’ on! I am curious if this is illegal? What happens when someone gets caught doing this? I’m seriously thinking about doing this now because there are so many children that would be over the moon to have toys and books like that! My local women’s shelter administration would go absolutely bananas if I brought stuff like this for their clients. Again, thanks for what your doing guys! ✌🏼
Can't verify if this is real as I was not there however...I used to work for a large retailer and we would "zero out" merchandise all the time per corporate orders and simply toss it. I remember getting rid of thousands of perfectly good greeting cards, leather journals, fancy pens, etc. due to a corporate mandate. All of the stuff was taken to the receiving room, checked off and then packaged into boxes just like this, sealed and put into the dumpster. The management would have us toss it on the evening before trash pickup with the thought that it would not be picked through by divers but I can tell you that never worked! Some pretty great stuff was simply pitched and I could never find any rhyme or reason. In one case we zeroed out items and pitched them only to receive a shipment of the very same merchandise a week later...that's corporate thinking for you.

I worked in retail. It’s standard practice to zero out items. They get sealed and tossed or destroyed. I threw bags and boxes of items away with a great deal of sadness. The trash compactors prevented dumpster diving.

Also to the people that only check once a week or not every day. These stores know their trash schedule, and will dump massive amounts of stuff the night before the trash comes, so if you're coming a different night, it may seem like they never have nothing, when in reality the trash truck is always getting it all on a night that you're not there!

Ah well that brings me back to a time when a game and card store threw away a bunch of magic cards in the dumpster. I grabbed as many as I could the whole dang dumpster was full of them. But I regret not ever getting more because there was still a bunch still in there for some reason they wanted to throw away all the loose cards and they were all in great condition. I sold most of them all though free money.

I'm taking to a local recovery home and childrens residential providing i have sizes small and med for the kids. 💕 so sad just went to my other 5 below and it had the destroyed jackpot. I mean so much all cut to shreds. Blankets and stuffed animals 😢

These boxes are coming from a B&N warehouse as part of inventory replenishment that’s why they are mixed items.

We donate over 90% of what we find. I would say 85% of this haul was donated

the hastings in my home town was going out of business last year. i bought about $500 worth of toys for about $38 i went back every day picking up random things. hot topic after chirstmas is a gold mine as well.

As a former worker for B&N, this is fake as hell. We never threw out product like that. Stuff that didn't sell went to either discount or to claims. The only stuff we threw out were disks that were too damaged to fix or books that were already discounted so much that they were already ours and couldn't claim it out. If you, perchance, did get this "legitimately" that means that you got a thieving employees loot, which is highly doubtful.

I love these dumpster diving videos man. I was wondering, what advice could you give someone who wants to do some dumpster diving? Is there a best day of the week? Of the year? Also, what about dumpsters that are attached to compactors?
Everywhere is different, you have to go every day for like a week to see what days are best for you. Also the compactors are usually just a no go, I just avoid them at all costs

I’ve seen a lot of dumpsters diving videos. And if you want to be believed in what you pull out the dumpster, you have to make it a bit more believeable then what what your doing. They don’t pack up boxes like that so you have a sweet little unboxing video. They usually try and destroy it so no one can take it from the dumpster. So if people are calling you fake I can’t blame them. And what makes you think the other stuff you left behind will be there tomorrow. It’s funny how it’s all things your into instead of random things.
I love these experts! Been doing this for over 5 years, and yes Barnes and Noble always boxes everything up, so you're completely wrong there. Two, the more idiots that say it's fake the better! If they're commenting and disliking, then they're engaging the video and helping it get promoted, so I honestly love the negative people!

When I was a kid, I worked at a grocery store and this guy who stocked the shelves at night and he would put boxes of things in the trash and put it in his car when he left in the morning. I bet this is an extreme version of that.

Every B&N has dozens of those Pride & Prejudice & Zombies and Orphan Black Pops. They never sell, even at 75% off.
Let me put this in perspective for you. Hypothetically lets say this store did dump these boxes of Merch. Logically the employees would know about the Merch and would the the boxes after hours. Next. Most retail outlets will donate Merch that cannot be returned to the distributors gets donated for tax write offs. Lastly. The boxes he is opening were sold to the secondary market. You can watch my video where I open boxes purchased from D&A and I get same exact items he opens on this video.

I've worked in some "retail" stores (2 Micheals, Yankee Candle, and a Gas station with gift shop) and yeah...all but Yankee candle we just box up defective/damaged items and just dumpster them cause they don't ship back to the main warehouse (cause really what's the point? They're not going to sell it, they're not going to store it, they're just going to toss it). Yankee Candle one the other hand had use destroy everything, box, and bag everything before tossing.

It was, there were two huge thrift shops that the stuff could have been donated to and the stores could have claimed charitable donations.

not every place is like that if you post a vid like this one some places may see it and press charges on you for stealing, theres serveral places around me here that would do that but most wont and dont care, you just have to know which stores are ok with it and which ones will press charges.

Mainly depends on the laws around and truthfully they can't pin point which one he went to and they had no lock on it... Usually when something is thrown out in trash its public property and anyone can go through it. That's what police do to find clues on ppl
