A woman gets a compliment, she forgets it in five minutes. A man gets a compliment, he remembers it for the rest of his life.
you must not get a lot of compliments. i have forgotten a lot of them...but none of the ones my wifes gives me LOL
Word
for a lot of men that may be the only one they ever get.
It's true. I got 3 compliments so far.
thats because a man never gets complemented so he will remember. a woman gets complemented every 5 minutes. so it loses its value
I saw this episode. The next day he went back and the waitress didn't even know who he was. Turns out she does that to everyone to get tips. (Like at Hooters)
Damn.
No. Deacon told her he was married
Ouch.
thats demoralzing
Which episode and season?
A guy will remember a compliment from a random woman for years. When a woman receives a compliment, it’s just another Tuesday.
That's cause women get hit on all the time it's a rare instance that a man gets hit on
That's not true for all women.
@@bethanychatman9531 I know a tall asian.
Women remember compliments from Chads for years.
Haha not WRONG hahaha haha hehe lol!!!!.
Doug said, “if you can’t be supportive about another woman liking me, then this conversation is over” 😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂
So true 😂😂😂😂😂
The point Doug is making is that he's not feeling desired by Carrie and wishes that she would compliment him more that way strange women who compliment him would boost his confidence.
Bingo
Exactly true that
Make him feel like a human being.
That's not at all what he is saying! He evens tells her that it isn't special, when it comes from her, as she is already part of his life.
No. He doesn't get hit on by many women. That's why he was happy
Then you wash your a** when you get home...left me in tears!
"When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the losers."
~Socrates
This is true. Some women have men drooling over them all the time so they dislike it. Many men never get a single compliment and if they happen to get one, they will feel very good about it.
Exactly.
So true.
I died on the “well you should wash your ass when you get home”
God forbid a guy gets complimented and he smiles 😂
Tell me about it.
It's true, carrie is a beautiful piece of tapestry.😂
Until she got chunky
@@danielfox3003 try having a baby and you'd gain weight also 😒
@@danielfox3003 That was so ironic considering that there was an episode very early in the series where Carrie fictitiously gains some weight and Doug decides to mention it. Then she actually porked out and it never came up on the show.
@@palaceofwisdom9448wasnt she pregnant in real life?
10/10 I would tap that tapestry.
“You should wash your ass when you get home” is one of the best responses ever lol
This show was great on so many levels. The way it mirrored the crazy conversations many of us have in marriages.
War at home was super overrated with Michael R.
Was disappointed it got canned
Eye candy episode one of my favorites as a man getting a compliment from a woman is a real confidence builder. It makes you feel good about yourself.
lol must not get them that often huh?
@@L4-295most men don’t
It's so rare for a man to get a compliment that they feel priceless. I have good fashion sense, and every time I put on something that I've been complimented on I immediately have a flashback and recall every detail of the moment.
@@L4-295 Not even from our wives. That's the whole point here. We really just want to feel like we are desired by our wives and most of us give our wives compliments all the time. But what Carrie said in this scene is true: marrying us , in our wives' minds, regardless of how long ago it was to them is the ultimate compliment, nd in many cases it is, but guys like to hear it every once in a while especially from the ones we really want to hear it from. (Wow, thanks for the therapy!)
"Way to eat!"
Moral of the story is, Kelly is a snitch.
😂 just like that one time when she told Carrie that Doug and deacon went to Atlantic City to gamble instead of working late
Kelly was always a problem in the show.
@@Crescentknight8189and it showed
Kelly was miserable in her own marriage and she wanted to drag Carrie down too..Misery always loves company

I'm electric!!! 🎉
“I’m electric” classic
Boogey oogey ooegy
Some women cant stand the idea of men feeling good about themselves.
Yep. They think it somehow removes their value. Women are so insecure. You could be married to one, providing for them daily, and they still need to take your confidence.
Truth!! Well said.
It's a fear response. I'm pretty sure they believe: If he thinks other women likes him, he will cheat. Therefore, he has to be lead to believe he is lucky I even noticed he exists.
However, if you flip that around, that would be abuse. Ugh!
I'm electric 💀
You know how a jacket or a sweater becomes a man's favorite? He once got a compliment while wearing it.
His seinfeld impression at the end was spot on
Carrie sees that a compliment makes Doug happy, so she tears into him rather than be kind to him herself. Guys, show a woman you're into this clip, and if she has any reaction other than to think that Carrie is decisively in the wrong here, RUN.
yup. toxic femininity in a nutshell
That's sage advice my friend
Seriously though. Alot of people would look at your comment here, and roll their eyes, especially women. But its so true that their feelings towards a situation like this matters greatly, If they react negatively it is very telling, and a huge red flag
True. It reveals their selfish and entitled nature.
Carrie has a point, shouldnt your wife be the one that gets you in the mood? Why are you taking a basic compliment from a waitress so seriously? Im sure Doug would have never reacted like this if a guy complimented him.
What you are basically saying is its perfectly fine for men to indulge in carnal desires of other women, and when *your own wife* doesnt like it, she's wrong.
Seems stupid and unfaithful to me.
“Way to eat” 😂😂
Dude take the compliment whether she’s mad or not! 😂😂😂
As messed up as it sounds when your bf/gf or spouse compliment you sometimes it can be overlooked because it’s expected or you may feel like they complimented you to make you feel better or boost your ego. But when you hear that same compliment from someone you don’t know at all or never met, it’s genuine and somebody random took time out of there day to acknowledge how good you look that’s a great feeling for any man or woman.
Then they don’t really love em then. No one should be able to have that affect outside of the relationship. Take the compliment and keep it pushing. So BF is supposed to be fine with giving the SAME compliments and being disregarded essentially but some stranger who does NOTHING for his partner gets to say the same thing and they get a BETTER reaction? I think the fuck not. BF word doesn’t mean anything to his partner at all. Plus it’s not always genuine.
Always loved Carrie, just beautiful.
do you even realize that she's a terrible and toxic person?
@@Burgerkingsucks1 did not know that.
@@mikebas7325don’t believe everything you read in a UA-cam comment section
Carrie's a real spitfire :).
Doug made the ultimate point....Carrie gets the vindication so much she has to numb herself to it, but Doug gets an eye or a flirt once every blue moon, if that. People have their confidences but they're also informed by the world, by what happens day in and day out in their lives. Both of them are secure in their marriage, but they go out there and have their perception of how everyone else sees them. Doug has the, "I'm a fat goofy looking guy" identity in his head most days. And as if to reinforce his point, he didn't even bat an eye when Carrie said she gets touched and leered at all day, every day. It really highlights how foolish Carrie is.
A lot of men don't get compliments so on the occasion that we get one from a woman it's a big deal.
The way this show exemplifies reality so well without losing the comedic aspect is amazing. It is so rare for men to receive any compliment, let alone from a stranger. The fact that it came from a stranger makes it feel that much better because they don't know you at all, and they noticed it and SAID something about it. For a lot of men this literally never happens because most of us don't have Kevin James' adorable ass face. Meanwhile even quite ugly women get compliments. If your man gets all giddy from being complimented by someone, whether it's a man or woman, how can you not be happy just seeing him all happy.
The clip shows it. They always (bizarrely) take it to mean that he’s really into the waitress. This is because women are showered with BS compliments all day everyday so they only care about it when it comes from someone they want to impress.
What makes this show realistic is how NAGGING Carrie is… hits too close to home for a lot of us guys.
I won't lie, these 90's sitcoms were it 😅
those are problems I wanna have ...
If you support the patriarchy you can easily find a good man.
The problem isn't even that Doug got a compliment. It's the fact that he acted different after it. That he made more efforts in his clothes and appearance because a random woman complimented him when he wouldn't do the same for his own wife.
Good for Doug...hes right, once in a while can make your day. Im sure if Carrie stopped getting compliments and her ass grabbed shed feel even MORE insecure
Actually, there was an episode where she was feeling desirable anymore because a group of construction workers in the neighborhood didn't harass her. So Doug bribed them to do it but it all backfired. Hilarious episode.
That's absolutely true too. Funny how that works. They hate the catcalling until it stops completely then they feel bad about themselves, gotta love the juxtaposition between hypocrisy & insecurities.😂
@@sincerre4real541I remember that episode, it was hilarious
I love the King of Queens My favorite TV show ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺
Doug’s no prize, but Carries abuse is on a whole other level
This is classic. Fella lacks compliments and confidence but his partner won't give them. Then the partner gets mad when the guy gets the ego boost he needs. Bottom line, she should've been complimenting him enough so the stranger offering compliments wouldn't matter
These is adorable lol dude was like “okay I guess I was pretty good” lol
Hypocrisy at it's finest
“Well you should wash your ass from the subway when you get home.” Hahaha
Best sitcom ever
Whiles not without his faults, it does seem like Carrie spends a lot of time knocking doug down. The waitress hasn’t started doing that, yet
How is one partner repeatedly slapping the other partner OK? Hitting a partner because someone else complimented them? Classic pattern of abuse.
Oh, how the times have changed lol
Carrie is gorgeous, but I get where Doug is coming from.
Especially because she treats him like shit.
I watch King and Queens every single night before I go to bed. In fact I kind of can’t go to bed until I watch it. It starts at 11 ends at 1 PM like clockwork. My husband and I have been watching it for years. It used to be Seinfeld, but they took Seinfeld off at 11. This show never gets old, just like Seinfeld never gets old two best comedies ever written! My favorite episode is when Doug imitates being a baby and what it would be like to have a baby. It is so hysterical. If you didn’t see that one I think it’s called pregnant pause one of my favorite episodes.
In the "Do Rico" episode Carrie and Doug trade places. Doug is becomes the jealous one!!! Lol! 🤣🤣🤣
man i miss coming home from school and catching these shows
2:36 wow!!!!!!!!
Amazing how this comedic scene so perfectly encompasses how men feel all the time. A simple compliment can make anyone's day. But women are threatened when another woman makes their man happy. But we're insecure if we get upset
Show was so good
Carrie 100% right
Damn this show was incredible! They had such great chemistry. It genuinely felt like they were a married couple.
Good movie. Lol
Who knew that being nice to a guy made him happier and more motivated to look good? Who would've guessed?
She's one of the biggest villains in TV show history
Yeah she can be pretty bad, but raymonds wife was a absolute monster, and dont even get me started on skyler white.
Rachel Green as well.
LAURA WINSLOW!!!!
Funny, but I thought the back and forth motion of the loom should be interrupted by a side slap to send the shuttle across the loom.
"Well, then you should wash your ass when you get home!" LOL!
I had such a crush on her when I was teenager xD
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They did nothing with those clothes on 😂😂😂
Hilarious
Doug almost dug his grave at 1:17 lol
Carrie is so hot!
lol to be fair, the times a guy gets overtly hit on versus a lady is most definitely skewed towards the ladies to the point where they gotta find it annoying. I've been around a single girl at a bar before and I felt annoyed for her lol. But us dudes rarely get hit on, so yeah it's kind of a big deal and boosts our egos when it happens. ladies, you wanna make a dude feel special? Hit on us. And genuinely mean it. When a stripper or porn star hits on us, it doesn't mean a thing cause they hit on everyone for some cash or to get some other poor sap hooked on their gross videos. But a genuine compliment goes a long way with us cause we almost never get em.
Why are they not naked and sweaty? 😂
It was a 5 second marathon.
@@MassEffectGER 🤔
I was thinking the same thing and I was going to post this same question. They just had sex and are fully clothed. That just never happens in real life.
why did 1950s married couples have separate beds?

Absolutely not believable.
😂😂😂
The loom isn't the best analogy, Doug.
Oh yeah, like another one would have made her see the light.
@@daveconleyportfolio5192
Your portfolio is void of a sense of humor.
That's why it's funny.
@@mediocreman2
I didn't say it wasn't funny. It's just a mediocre analogy from Doug as usual.
It’s woven on a loooom
I could never be married to a woman as immature as Carrie. If another woman compliments my looks my wife just finds it funny and says she has good taste. She knows I’m not going to do anything about it. And likewise if a man compliments her. It just means you’re with a catch.
Ironically the moment a woman has no sense of worry about another woman scooping up her man is the moment she takes him for granted and the relationship truly is in trouble.
I was allrite.
Doug and Deacon were eating when Jill was flirting with Doug. What was Deacon drinking?
Modern family is a great show from blue pictures television.
Thing is too, once most men get older, they feel suspicious when a woman does give them a compliment. We're wondering what she's planning to try to get out of us. It's usually either money or free labor.
The sexiest face EVER for Carrie at 2:40
This reminds me of that episode Doug lost weight & was out shopping for new clothes with Carrie & ran into an attractive acquaintance that gushed over him looking good & so did the sales girl. This maybe that episode idr. Carrie's ego couldn't handle it.
Was a really good window into how ladies react when their men start getting attention from other ladies. Yet when the shoe is on the other foot men are insecure man babies.
He meant.....Tap Ass Tree.
Women love appreciation onfor them they cannot handle the men getting any. Makes them feel sad, no accountability as usual, writers were spot on.
Doug acting like Carrie would be considered toxic and people would be outraged by this old clip...
Just another example of misandry being normalized through the ages :P
What makes this funny is that it's true! Women expect to get hit on all of the time, but then get upset if their boyfriend or husband (who never gets hit on) has another woman flirt with him! Part of that is the insecurity of women, and part of that is the jealousy of women, and part of it is the narcissism of women. It's also why less and less men want to date in today's society.
Leah Remini is a goddess
If a woman tells me the sex is great, I won't lie. I will remember that for the rest of my life!
They get compliments SOOOOOOO much that they don’t even realize the power of just one of them to a Male, who only gets them once every few years. #TFGG. #TYGMRight.
Carry is toxic af.
ABSOLUTELY 💯 correct!!
This is the real reason men go to Hooters.
Following her logic, he never has to give her a compliment ever again.
Never argue with your wife fellows. It's not worth it. Because they're not arguing using logic, they're only arguing because they feel bad and they want you to feel bad too.
Waitress was probably flirting for tips.
TBH, I don't recall too much about the episode. I just never watched this series in reruns because KJ's head got all swelled from the Paul Blart thing or whatever.
Man
They don't make sitcoms like this anymore. Everything is so rushed nowadays
I swear Carrie truly made me not wanna watch this show. These clips confirmed i made the right choice 😂
Kevin James wrote this scene? 😂😂
It does feel like he had some input. The hard life of a guy that is great in bed woe is he. He's so good the wife complains.
So men cant ever get a compliment...even then.
She is being so insecured🫠. Poor emotional inteligence.
