**NOTE:**
About the Mantras:
* These Mantras appear in 4th Kaanda, 6th Prasna and 4th Anuvaka of Krishna Yajur Veda - Taittireeya Samhita and called as "Apratiratha Hymn". These mantras are also appearing in Rig Veda at 10th Mandala 103rd Sukta.
* There are 15 mantras (Riks) in this anuvaka with 240 words (Padas) in total.
* According to Taittireeya Samhita 5th Kaanda, 4th Prasna and 6th Anuvaka, when Devas and Assuras were in conflict, the Devas saw the Apratiratha Sukta and with it, they won the Asuras. Hence, it is called Unassailable (Unbeatable) Hymn (Apratiratha Sukta). According to Rig Veda, Aprati Ratha is the Rishi for these Mantras.
* It is recited during all auspicious occasions, including Udaka Shanti/ Mahanyaasam etc. These Mantras bestow one with success in all ventures. These Mantras confer one with success in his ventures he undertakes, victory over enemies and make him fearless.
“Meaning” of these Mantras:
[1] Speed: Indra is very fast, like a bull (Vrushabha:) sharpening its horns, the warrior fond of killing (Ghana Ghana:) and make enemies uncomfortable (kshobhana:) . Being a single hero (Eka Veera:) and un-winking, (Animisha : ) Indra conquers 100 hosts (shatam sena) at a time.
[2] Un-winking: O Heroes, with the help of Indra, (who is always un-winking, roaring with success, unconquerable by foes, handful of arrows and violent), you overcome and conquer all.
[3] Defeat all: Indra is powerful with those who have bows & arrows in their hands. Indra joins his group in the army and conquering in battle. Indra drinks Soma (Soma paa:) and destroys the foes by precise shooting of arrows and uplifted bows.
[4] Go around: O Brhaspati, hurry (pari deeyaa) with your chariot to all places, slay (rakshohaa) the foes (Amitran) and drive away the enemies (Apabadha maana:). Become the winner of the battle by defeating the foes and troubling them. May you be the protector (Avitaa) of our chariot.
[5] Discover the lost: O comrades, with the thunderbolt on his arm, Indra is very clever in discovering the hidden cows and Goshala (Gotrabidam, Govidam), even by breaking the hills. Indra is victorious in crushing a host. O brothers, (Sajaataa) you become heroes like Indra by following his footsteps (Rabhadvam).
[6] Success: O Indra, you are prominent by strength, (Balavigyaya:) physically powerful, (Staveera:) brave,(Praveera:) stable, (Sahasvaan) powerful, (Vaaji) committed, (Sahamaana) and alarming (Ugraha:) . By surpassing heroes (Abhi veero) and warriors (Abhisatva), born of strength, (Sahojaa :) you win the cows (Govid) and claim into the victorious chariot.
(Here we can replace the word "Cow" with "Our successful Ventures " for the present living condition, so that it gives the meaning of winning our objectives or competition with vigour).
[7] Guide for Success: The Hero Indra is reckless (Adaaya:) and hundred times angry (Satamanyu:) while penetrating (Gaahamaana) the places of cows (Gotraani) with force (Sahasa). Indra is hard to oppose (Du : chyavana:) stable in battle (Prutanaashad) and unbeatable. Let him (Indra) guard (Avatu) our armies in the battles. (In the present state, Indra guard us to win our objectives)
[8] Fees: May Indra be their leader, and Brihaspati be the sacrificial fee (Dakshinaa). Let the sacrifice (Yagya) and Soma go in front. Let the conquering Maruts go before the divine crowd (Deva Senaanaam).
[9] Success Voice: As the powerful force of Indra, the King Varuna, the Aadityas and the crowded Maruts conquer, their voice of victory has ascended and the magnanimous (Mahaamanasaam) Gods shake the worlds.
[10] Success: When the flags are together (battle begins) let Indra be ours. Let our arrows be victorious. Let our heroes be the winners. O Devas, you protect (Avataa) us in battle at our call.
[11] Encouragement: O Maghavan, cheer up (Ut Harshaya) our weapons, strengthen up my warriors. O Vruta samhara, exalt the horsepower. Let the resonance of the victorious chariots goes up.
[12] Go Forward: O Heroes, go ahead and defeat. Let your arms be strong. May Indra protect you and be unbeatable.
[13]Target: O arrows, when released from the bow, you fly forward. You are charged with mantras. Go to our enemies and enter their body. Do not spare anyone.
[14] Protection: I cover your vital parts with armour. Let King Soma covers you with immortality (Amrutena). Let the widespread world be yours. Let the Devas, delight you on your victory.
[15] Finish the Target: When the arrows fly together like young boy's hair, then Indra, the demolisher of Vrutra, slayer of enemies, grant us protection forever.

Wow, Ghana means in Sanskrit Warrior fond of killing. Amazing! I come from a land called Ghana, in west-Africa! And the Ghanaians (especially the tribe of the Ashanti) were known for their warrior-like qualities, brave as f*ck XD
*"But do we have to listen to all up to the 47 minute mark, because I think it is a repetition of the same or when can we stop listening if we have little time, is there a shorter version of this chant?"*
Namaste!

Another gem of a rendering!

Out of the world....
The Sahasranaman of Vishnu states the 505th name: "He is the incarnation of Shiva" (along with his consort umA), what does this mean, can you please clarify?
Somehow I don't understand. Does that sentence mean Shiva incarnates as Vishnu or is it vice versa as that Vishnu incarnated as Shiva?
Even that question I asked, I somehow don't get my own question. Can you make any sense out of these sentences?!
🙏Hare Krsna 🙏

This is the third comments I am posting, one after each sitting that I took to complete listening the whole video. Took 3 sittings to listen, just to savor the richness of rendering at high melodious pitch. ❤. Since I know Apratiratham/ अप्रतिरथम्, it made the Ghanam that much more appealing because I could relate to how samhita paatham leads to Ghanam.
