Hello dear man! I'm from Israel and I really enjoy the videos you create and share (I have been watching you for many years). I love your technical thinking, and enjoy seeing your skill in metalwork. I want to congratulate you that you are taking advantage of the epidemic and will be healthy for good days and years. Like all of us, I am very sorry to hear of so many patients and deaths around the world. So, we plead with God to have mercy on us all. You have a very pleasant personality in my eyes!
Thank you very much!! You gave no idea how much I love Israel! Thanks for commenting and I hope that God keeps you and all the good people of Israel ,well.
Congrats on finding a mower in that good shape for such a low price. Both of you will enjoy having a mower dedicated to pulling a trailer. I've had a deckless one, for many years, dedicated to that job. Have a couple of different trailers for it. One is low and wide. Have hauled sheets of plywood across the top of it. Have a trailer outfitted to haul our chipper/shredder. Even though the chipper has wheels, it's heavy and man-powered to get it from place to place. Sitting in the trailer, it's also a better height & the trailer hauls loppers, saw, and fuel. Another, small, low to the ground, dump body, trailer is easier to fill when it's heavy stuff hauling time. I'm sure you'll come up with more and more ways you'll use your mini-hauler. Enjoyed watching your tear down process and hearing your thinking process as you proceeded. Appreciated! Hope you and yours have a blessed Sunday. Strange one for us, as our church cancelled all activities, last Thursday. I only remember one time, in the past, when services on Sunday were cancelled. Ice storm because travel was so dangerous. Staying at home and remembering that God is in control, regardless of what the future may bring.
Mr Brad you are the dog whisper and the Pack Leader of the puppy comforter talk about a calm state of mind Cesar Millan would give you an award for that
Love that gas price. It is about a dollar more here in southwestern Idaho. Only 1 refinery in Salt Lake City and no pipeline all the way here. It's got to be trucked at least halfway. I like these garage videos.
I need to do the same thing to a mower. My place isn’t big enough to need a side-by-side, but it’d be nice to have a tractor that I leave my little harbor freight 40x42” trailer attached to at all times! Hey, take care of yourselves during this COVID-19 thing! It’s SERIOUSLY hard on your lungs! I’m on the absolute frontline of this thing and it sucks, but I just have to do what I can to protect myself and my family and keep trudging on.
BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose I really appreciate the thought!! As of right now, we are still good on supplies. They are getting hard to find because the US is way too dependent on China for our medical supplies, and of course, they’re factories are closed right now, but my employers are really good, so we have a pretty decent supply as of now. Thank you for the thought though!!!
Damn, High Roller! You put FAR better fluid in your rebuilt mower than I do in my Jeep. LOL. My Jeep would choke and die if it got that fancy-schmancy fluid. If I used anything but generic it wouldn't know what to do.
I have the same one except it's the Kohler I just replaced the mechanical fuel pump and now it fires up but my forward is very weak and reverse feels like it's going out and I didn't even do anything to it so should I have Purge my system?
We are legal to drive Gators in East Tennessee with the exception of gas powered since their max speed exceeds 35, but they don't in force it in my area. So many people around here have Gators, ATV's ect. and heck, they ride lawn mowers to this little country store down the ridge, lol. Babies nap time and your coffee break time, hehe.
there is a law That says I can drive it if I have one of those farmers warning triangles on the back. I also have to call my place a farm. Since they have outlawed chickens and any other livestock in this town, I would have to call it a worm farm.
I have the same Simplicity lawn tractor! Purchased it new in 1997! Mine has a 38 inch deck! Mine has a hydro static leaver to adjust ground speed on dash. I see yours has a food petal for ground speed, so yours maybe newer then 1997.
Hey man, I have this exact mower, but the 14HP engine... My dad got it new in the 90's and passed it on down. I've had it running for a good long time now, but it seized up yesterday... :( It sounds like the solonoid is clicking and sometimes there is a buzzing sound. Battery reads about 12.1 or 12.2 from the battery to the solonoid, and from the solonoid to the starter... I have tried blasting PB blaster into it and put new oil in, but I'm still not able to crank it. My dad is not sure it isn't the starter... but I'm getting him to come over today to look at it. Hopefully we can get it running again... As you say, it's not the prettiest, but it has been very good for a very long time... Any ideas would be appreciated...
There is a bolt on the bottom. You can recognize it because it will be close to the center of the transmission and will be slightly lower than the rest of the bolts. Drain, refill, then leave it jacked up and in gear. Start it and run it in forward and the reverse. That will Purge it. Use synthetic oil.
@@bctruck Am Polish man living in ireland sout east 🙂next month my lawnmower going to Poland for good,i want to do good service before im start work in the garden, underneath is the bolt for drain oil? From the gearbox? I dont know how to change engine oil😂you ready to help me🙂

When you said you were going to jack it up, I had visions of the mower with big monster truck tires 😄This video may not be appropriate for younger mowers as it shows an undressed mower 😅
On mine, there’s a small “L” shaped rod on the lower right foot well, tight in front of the fender. Pull it towards the front of the mower with a pair of pliers.
I need that deck. Our neighbor gave me the same mower but with a 18hp vanguard. It had been sitting for years because the deck rusted completely out. Has 400 h on it.
In large quantities, modern gas does two things? The ethanol disappears quickly leaving you with an octane level that is ten percent lower octane ( 87 octane would be 78.3 octane) and secondly, it attracts moisture. I store about 80 gallo s but I cycle it through my cars and machinery quickly enough that it doesn’t have a chance to do either of those two things.
Mower blades are not good steel for knives. They are made from steel that is low carbon (1040-1045) to allow for some flexibility for hitting objects harder than grass. There are hardening alloys in lawnmower blades but they are ultimately to soft of a metal to make good knives from. People do it,but it’s not a good alternative.

well, I got on a forum and asked an egghead lawnmower guru and he said synthetic was the best,or else it would have gotten walmart brand.
Looks much better.
That's a great looking mower. It will make a good trailer tug I'm sure.
Two more videos on this project and it’s done.

She cleaned up real nice. I've been inside moaning about the weather here. I feel like we've been transported to the PNW.
It’s been crazy wet here too.

What's that white fan under the seat for? A fart conditioner?
It’s a fart propelled machine. Oddly enough, I can get it to burn rubber and my wife can barely get it to move.

Yes.
