That's crazy. My identity was stolen in the 70s. I didn't find out who it was until the 90s. I ended up changing my name legally. I found out a few years ago my Social Security number was on the dark web. I don't have the money to hire an attorney to help change my number.

Isnt it illegal for the property owner to sift through the property of the tenant? Even if he evicted her...he cant just go through her personal property. He refused to allow the movers to pick up her stuff..saying 'take it up with law enforcement' (he's basically stealing her stuff)...yet isnt he also breaking the law by not only going through her stuff..but also basically stealing it (preventing the movers from picking it up)?
The reporter should have pushed back on the property owner. Two wrongs dont make a right, dude!
People keep saying "the system's broken" and I've been saying the same thing but if this is the case in almost every aspect of life... then it's not just the "system" it's the folks in charge of the system etc. I think the system, the folks in charge of the system, and the criminal users of said system are probably all the same types of people/entities. If the people that ran things companies, agencies, govt, etc weren't led by criminal corrupt bad actors then no way the systems could be so thoroughly perverted and used by other criminal corrupt bad actors.

Unless a gun or knife is involvded or they need to do a chalk outline the cops will de-prioritise your call to 9-11 as a citizen in dier need of assistance . How did the realtor do "due diligence"??? He accepted an i.d. with a different picture if I understood.
Are we a tad dense. The I.D. had a different picture than the real persons name that is on the I.d. It will have the picture of the criminal who came to rent the place.
The Suspect put their photo on someone else’s valid ID card, presumably the person who the Suspect figured out or stole their SSN from. I checks ID’s at a bar, underage college students do this all the time. Some States offer better security measures to identify a fake ID but it can be very difficult to detect even for people who check ID’s for a living.
