Arma 3 AI choppers are always an adventure. :) Good info as always, appreciate the various options. The vanilla Arma3 Support module seems to work pretty well but as you noted the AI behavior can be "squirrely" at times for sure. Thanks for sharing.
This seems to work without issues sometimes, and other times it doesn't. If the playable unit boards first and then orders AI into the chopper, there usually isn't an issue, but doing this reminds me of why I generally avoid using friendly AI. They are just a pain to deal with. Thanks for the kind comments, always appreciated.
I don't know if you figured this out already, but I was having the same issue. Instead of clicking the blue square abouve the unit and giving it the variable name "h1" which assigns h1 to a group or the crew, what worked for me was assigning "h1" to the helo itself and not the crew.
@@OnlineCombatBN maybe you did, but that’s the error I was having. It seemed like from the video, you clicked on the blue square above the heli, and assigned it h1. And when I do that, it gives me the error that it expects an object not a group.
It doesn't work for me with AI. Everytime an AI goes close to Heli than Heli goes up no matter what. So trigger doesnt work properly. If there is only player on the map than it works fine.
Your tutorials are a life saver! Thank you for doing all these! I'm trying to set this up exactly like you've got it here, but its giving me an error with the "s1 inArea thisTrigger;" code that you put in the trigger. It says "Error inarea: Type Group, expected Array, Object". Do you know why that is?

Great Videos!
Thanks mate.
How to make to task be completed after boarding chopper?
Can you remove the succeed task and everything still work? also i get an error for engine turn on
Yes you can remove the task succeed and it will work. For engine on are you adding the variable name of the helo?

H1 is supposed to be for the helo, not the crew.... I did explain this. 🤨

Make the trigger smaller if you are using an area trigger, and you board chopper first THEN order AI in.

Ok, with the error does what you're doing still work or does it not work at all?
@@OnlineCombatBN it doesn’t work at all. I get in the helo and it doesn’t do anything
@@scottcole1423 Are you playing with AI?
@@OnlineCombatBN nope just me for now
@@OnlineCombatBN no just me
