It’s amazing how these guys are USA made and under $400. And a more uncommon design. Would be interesting to compare the Reltex sole to other wedges in the industry too.
@@Stridewiseit’s even better if you get their boots on the summer presale. I have a pair of Byron boots coming in Nov. that I bought during the presale for $256.00!!!!!
Nick, please look at the Meermin "Vaxy Commander" It's a winter boot, so great for a review soon. I think you'll like them. They have a dressy, narrow look to the them, and the shearling wool lining is to die for.
I feel like brands like Rancourt and Quoddy are kind of the sleeper hits of American footwear. Very steeped in tradition but for some reason they're not as huge in the heritage menswear scene like Red Wing or even the PNW bootmakers that many consider an upgrade from Red Wing. But they're a hell of a lot of shoe for the money and ludicrously comfortable. My Ranger Mocs by Rancourt are my favorite summer shoe by far, and I have a pair of double vamp 7" handsewn mocs (by the now defunct Maine Mountain Moccasin) that are my absolute favourites for long days of walking (especially on paved surfaces). Just endless comfort - truly like wearing a big leather sock.
MITUSA review suggestion: Gokey USA Tipton work boot, The Supreme, Bison Classic or Chui Safari Boot. Also, SAS Shoes Hatchet chukka. Last suggestion the Keen Braddock mid
Only MOC I like is the discontinued Red Wing "Sawmill" The crispy sole gets ugly real quick, and the traction is for urban, or indoor use only The stitching will also get discoloured as soon as you give the boot grease.
Yeah I think he meant there's marginally less leather encroaching onto the insole because it's one piece wrapped around. But the non-genuine moc toes tend to just be built more voluminously
They put some sort of foam material under the insole which ruins the point of true moccasin construction. True moccasin boots/shoes are very breathable and comfortable. Russell Moccasin sales their shoes/Boots in the $500-$600 because theirs are the real thing.
My Russells came with loose grain, the wrong sole, and poor customer service. All my Rancourts are perfect. Plus, Russells also has a foam layer. My Yuketens are the highest quality handsewns I've seen. The Rancourts are the best for money boot I've ever owned.
Love my Rancourt shoes and visiting the factory to purchase was a real bonus since I live in Maine.
That's awesome! Good people there

The price is bananas I agree
The boots cost considerably more than that at full price... But after watching their factory video, it makes sense to me why.

I love my Rancourts and Yuketens. Eveyone needs a pair of handsewn moccasins.
I have a pair of moc toes from Rancourt...its a great boot...Thanks for another good video...

Rancourt leverages a long Maine legacy of boot making with their fantastic true heritage footwear. Go Maine!

Thanks for this video. We need one for Russell Moccasin also.
I'll get out there one day!
I have a pair of their boat shoes and absolutely love them.
This dude seems like a no BS type of guy! Stridewise, out of interest what would be your most cherished video?
It'd have to be my stupidly long 'movie' of making boots in Guatemala! ua-cam.com/video/XCDwistu7jk/v-deo.html
Beautiful boots! I need a pair of those black Rancourts.

Great video, really enjoyed this one
So glad! It's incredibly niche haha

I actually preferred Nick’s “full-boot toecap” to mudguard. More fun.😀
I'm curious about the Thursday boat shoes as well, they're a genuine handsewn construction
Definitely out of my league, but love learning of the craft.
I wish Rancourt would do EEEs. I simply can’t fit into their shoes. They’re awesome about returns though. Just don’t wear the shoes outside.
Didn't see the Baxter boot on the website.
Huh it's not there right now! Well the Harrison is a better version of it anyway
Final boss of Maine 👀
What's the cap toe boot on the table?
I think it's a Byron? www.rancourtandcompany.com/collections/boots
@ 1:38 Maybe hit that shoe with the brush next time you take a video?
I don't know if I'm IN the culture or just near it... Culturally adjacent, I guess, but also less toe room there.
SOME might be roomier, but those don't look roomier, that iz.
But also wedge sole vs. other sole...
[then they mention wedge right after]
