I learned minging from hearing Vinny use it, and learning that it’s supposed to rhyme with “ringing” and not rhyme with “whinging” has ruined my life 😔
1:03:25 hey, was the person that told vinny this and wanted to elaborate a bit. In 1919 companies started to mine out vermiculite in the town of Libby Montana, which they used for stuff like insulation for the buildings there. TURNS OUT though (since both minerals can develop alongside one another) the vermiculite their was contaminated with asbestos. Despite it being found out by the company in 1963, they didnt tell ANYONE about it and kept mining until the 90s and cleaning only began in 2000 (Which is STILL going on to this day). Its legit one of the worst man made environmental disasters in America (and that saying a lot since this state also has a giant fucking pit of acid as a tourist actuation). So vinnys remark is kind of on point lol.

1:07:17 the phenomenon of that is called "Generic Trademarks" or "Proprietary Eponyms". Basically a specific brand has become so recognisable that we use it in everyday life to refer to similar things. Case in point, Band-Aid is a proper name for adhesive bandages, however the phrase "Band-Aid" is much more recognisable, so most people call *all* adhesive bandages "Band-Aids". The same has happened with words like Aspirin, Tylenol, Jell-O, Dry Ice, Flip Phone, Heroin (yes, really), Chapstick, Cellophane, Sellotape, Teleprompter, Trampoline, App Store, Dumpster, Yo-Yo, Zipcode, and Zipper, just to name a few. Because of genericised trademarks, companies will often eventually lose rights to the trademark. So some Texans calling all pops "coke" is actually just a really great way to piss Coca Cola off, because if the term becomes wide-spread enough, they might have to stop advertising as "coke".
@@gnerus1972 I think because "Coca" sounds like "Coke" when you remove the A. It's more than likely just a shortening that became popular, then Coca Cola began to use it
I'm lol'ing that Vinny didn't know minge (vagina) and minging (clatty/gross/disgusting/boggin) are completely different terms but has been saying both for a long time. I loved playing "Thank goodness you're here!" Great wee game with lots of well done surreal humour (it's can be a fine line), reminded me of the 2 Ronnies and a lot of Ben Elton comedy but current/present. The animation is a bit childrens cartoon and i bloody love that as a juxtaposition. It's interesting to see it through Vinny's perspective with Limes in chat (Limes is class). I liked that i said in the Matt Berry brb that Matt did voices for it, then Vinny played the game! Becoz of many other recommendations too. Happy days.
