RIP Vinnie you will be missed bro
Joe is such a kind soul you can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice
R.I.P. Dime and Vinnie. Till our next riffs together 🤘👊
Love them both. Both great, successful musicians and no hint of ego even when talking about their own signature gear.
RIP Dimebag :(
Daniel Le Lievre R.I.P. Vinnie, too.
Joe satriani is a walking ego lmao
Top Secret yeah....fuckin' sucks...can't wait to catch them live again in the next act...🤘🎵🎶HEAVY FUCKIN' METAL/ROCK FOREVER🎵🎶🎶🎵🤘
Both successful, yes. Both great? Uhh no. One of them was great. VP was a 1 trick pony. No versatility, no dynamics.
Why the hell didn't they just bring a drumset for Vinnie when they set up this interview? Imagine how bad ass it would've been to hear Satriani and Vinnie Paul jam.
Cause Vinnie Paul sucks at drums.
@@halColombolol
I swear every time I look at videos with Satch, Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai in them, I'm amazed by the fact that they don't seam to age a bit
btw Vinnie Paul looks like the kind of guy you'd go on talking with forever, really cool guy !
Should've surprised Vinnie with a Pantera riff, Joe!
Vinnie is to drummer as Joe was to guitarist at 5 years old. Vinnie was always awful and wayyyy OVER-rated. He ripped off Phil, one of BIGGEST cons in music history. He wasn't a SONG-WRITER. He was such a poser it hurts to watch.
Vinnie's Cookbook should be called Cooking Hostile! lol
Cajun From Hell? Char Coal Driven? Cemetery Steaks? A Vulgar Display of Gluttony? Okay, I'll get my coat now...
The art of shredding duck?
"Five minutes on loooowwwww"
Rafael Zorzal Right?! 😂🥁🙏🏻
Wok, I'll cast a Salmon, Ravioli us my Name
Vinnie Paul writing a cook book. I did not really expect that. That is so cool!
I am such a massive fan of both of these guys. That was so awesome!
Love love love love this. Joe is so humble and also explaining in detail about all his gear with such enthusiasm to Vinnie, Vinnie enjoying hearing about the guitar gear and digging when Joe plays anything. Just the perfect mix of good feeling between two great people.
Love them both thanks so much for sharing l can’t believe l only just came across this 👌🏽
2 of the greatest musician hero's of my teen years. Hopefully generations ahead will try and be as good as these guys.
at the end..with Satch jamming....Vinnie probably thinkg...DAMN, I need that ol Satch in my Hell Yeah band!
RICKY DEAN or how dime would destroy him in a guitar battle.
LOL no freaking way dude. Satriani is faster, more technical, more educated (musically) and more soulful. Metal is one genre, and Dime was a master at that... but joe is so much more dynamic in that he can incorporate jazz, blues, classic rock and hard rock into his music and absolutely dominate. Listen to his solo on "memories" and "crushing day". Pantera is without a doubt my favorite metal band, but Joe is my favorite musician.
Yup. Exactly. Dime was fantastic, but he certainly didn't have the same level of musicianship as Joe.
Guys really? It's not a fucking competition...IT's MUSIC...don't close yourself off to the possibilities...I'm 52 and I opened myself up to ALL of it...trust me...Vin and Satch could build some badass music together...problem is that now that Vin is gone, we'll have to wait for the next act to hear it....lol
Sach & Dime are both epic legends that heavily influence my own fretwork R.I.P Vinnie & Dime
Those 2 dudes are cool.. RIP Vin..
Nobody beats Joe!! I wish he would have said yeah Dimebag was such a great player. Though Vinnie may have cried. Or Joe could have played some Pantera stuff!!
Jeremy Freeman Yea, but I suspect he was being respectful and sensitive to Vinnie's feelings.
Dime was my favourite guitarist.
Craig Nevermind Yeah plus Fuse tells them what to ask/say/tell etc. Like you could tell by Vinnie smartish answer he's like omg enough with the reunion questions. Joes like hey I didn't tell them to put that on the list. LOL
To me Dime was more of a soulful player which I love and satch is just so technical and can do anything not say Dime could not he was brilliant but yeah wish he would of said that to
Jeremy Freeman
I agree with you and Connie.
I loved Dimebag; both as a musician and as a person.
I thought he was a magical mix of a clown, a genius, childish, extremely kind and sincere.
I don't like to think about it all for too long.
I'd love to see what Satch could do if Vinnie was on the kit behind him.
This is the interview we didn't kno we needed
Should’ve given Vinnie a kit to play, it would’ve been awesome to see them both jamming together
RIP Vinnie.
I think Vinnie Paul hasn't taken that hat off in 10 yrs.
Jjajajaja me too!!
You'd be his hat BITCH ASS
He had hair loss, it was to hide that.
Vinnie was bald. Rest easy champ❤🙏
He was such a poser. Since day 1.
Would of been cool if Satch busted out some chuggy metal riff just for this video.
Damn, so much respect for these two. Awesome talk!
This is cool, great to hear Vinnie talk about his equipment and how the company looks after him, very important to have the right company with a passion to help you as an artist. Also longtime fan of Satch, all the best, DC
Dude I want that cook book! Cool Vinnie!
vinnie being the best metal drummer joint first place with joey jordison
joe satriani being the pinicle of virtuosic guitars from extreme metal ledgends such as larry lalonde to kirk hammet to alex skolnic, to crazy eccentric guitarists such as vai, andy timmons, ect
New Ray's from an ancient sun gone down........thanks Joe,you know what to do now...😶.....big fan of yours and Vinnie's,.....land o' lakes,WI.usa.
Vinny just raising out testosterone levels with that open shirt.
He was ALWAYS a straight POSER, from the beginning, from day 1. ALWAYS held his lil bro back, musically/creatively/professionally. He NEVER came close to Darrell, and should have let him go. What a joker. Hated him.
It's fucking bizarre that Vinnie (I'm sure the other members were the same) reflects Pantera as though the 80s never happened. "Cowboys From Hell was our first album", WTF
"We had 14 amazing years together." Try 21? And Phil joined in 87, if I'm not mistaken, so 17 years with the lineup that we're all familiar with.
Rest in power Abbott brothers. Getcha pull.
SO SHWEEEETTT...much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO.[the music worldwide}
sooooo fun..!!!!!
If you live in the past the you don't have a future great quote
That was great. I wish you'd got Vinnie on the drums for a jam.
Great video though.
Vinnie Paul is nowhere near Satriani. He's a novice, and too fat.
Rest In Peace vinny
If Dimebag is still alive, he would love to do this head to head interview
R.I.P Vin ❤
Wow, it's been 6 years since I bought that book of Joe's and then didn't read it
When was this filmed? Blood for blood came out ages ago?
This interview was originally published on the Fuse website in May 2014.
Cowboys
I was thinking that they'd be jamming...dang
I miss Vinnie more after watching this...didn't knew he was into food and writing about it...
A cook book ?! Take my money !
dudes the GTO.. of the guitar $
SATCH THE GOAT JUDGE
Sadly we never got to see the melding of the guitar minds ala Satriani with Eddie, or Dimebag....
R.I.P. Vinnie Paul
🤘Right! R.I.P. ☝️🤘
"We had 14 years together." Guess we're ignoring the Glam days.
Shadowborg i think he meant 14 years with Anselmo
Shadowborg 14 years of pantera that people cared about.
🙏☝️🤘🤘🤘
to all those that commented on Joe and dime bag there is guitar players and their true musicians there a world apart you can figure it out it's true knowledge is power a lot of simple rock-and-roll roll wasn't that technical so long as the music moves you that's the bottom line✌
Mama raised the Abbott brothers right.
will mak the noise but I don't wanna be kicked out
Rip vinnie
Yeah! Cowboys from Hell! Yeah!
Comments about that crazy lovely guy all are heartbreaking, I'm sure Vinnie couldn't talk so much about him yet, that's why I think Joe didn't say anything related to him also, tense moments maybe.
This was an interesting video BTW, wished they could jam something but, no drumkit? -.-
Hey Joe, where you going with that stupid reunion question? Seriously, what was he thinking? Never mind that Vinnie got that same dumb question from every interviewer ever and probably countless fans too. Plus, Joe's a musician, he should know better. Esp considering the way Vinny's brother died. Common sense, if a band decides to do a reunion, THEY WILL MAKE IT KNOWN! They're not gonna do it because people ask them about it. That just aggravates a person who has their own reasons. Besides, like Vinny said, artist need to look forward and grow
That question was not really necessary. Joe should know that actually.
Rip vinni and dimmebag
Odd choice of couple here. Didnt quite get Satch playing blues in this setting.
I wonder why Vinnie, being a drummer, didn't ask joe about the pinch harmonics, asking him about the difference in technique, between joe and his brother...it's a curious topic don't you think?? I guess Vinnie was thinking about steaks...god bless him, both brothers, amazing people, incredible musicians....legends...
I am a grown man, but a cried when Dime was murdered, and I cried when Vinnie paul died.. the only thing that made me stop crying a few seconds after, was that they would finally be together up there, or down there, i don't know, i guess is down there, where the music is loud and heavy, and there is no rules, same place where randy Rhoads is, Jimi Hendrix, Janis , Stevie Ray, Duane, and all the good ones...
they will always be remembered
because Vinnie knew that his brother was a better player in every aspect and not interested in Joes opinion about pinch harmonics etc. Not to mention that he is a drummer and not nerdy at all
@@pitthefrit6292sorry but no. Joe is way better
That guitar of Joe's is lacking a rebel flag...lol
Joe! Stratocasters still sound better than your guitars.
wtf? PLAY SOME MUSIC MATES!!! JAM THE FUCK OUT OF IT! dissapointed see them talking and not jamming for one fucking minute!
Somehow the playing of Joe is a bit questionable. Having Dimebags guitar playing in memory, he should not have overextended his solo show. Vinnie could not respond to it anyway.
We don't care about satriani at the time
