Worst case scenario, NATO joins, defeats Russia only watch the world obliterated in front of our eyes by nuclear weapons. Another worst case is that Ukraine does it alone which is not probably and Putin’s ditch efforts are nuclear weapons. Best case scenario, the previous two without the bombs but the scenario that is most likely with least fatalities is that Ukraine loses the war on their own ground and Russia happily walks away. The problem with Ukraine winning the war is that in any circumstance of that, the nuclear bombs could be dropped.

It is about stopping violence and negotiations in good faith, part of which is refusing the assumption that the other side is "incapable of negotiating in good faith". The other part - addressing the root causes and making fair deals without using force as an argument. Not too difficult if both sides' core intetest is survival, peace and prosperity. Probably the worst and most mask off take I've heard from Noam Chomsky in my life. He spent the majority of his adult life dedicated to a critique of imperialist state power, exposing hegemony, advocating for the protection of self-determination, protections for human rights, and fervently arguing against military expansionism and bombings...especially under the guise of national security.......and here he is throwing that ALL out the window.

      @justliberty4072 Anything is possible, but I doubt it. This man has been a champion for these ideas for his entire adult life, and his criticisms have been deeply rooted in an anti-imperialist framework. I wonder if this isn't essentially someone who became so hooked on the sauce (his own) of anti-western Imperialism that he failed to account for the role of Russian Imperialism in the modern era.

    • @justliberty4072
      @justliberty4072 Рік тому

      @@MouhibBayounes "A middle ground" can mean about infinity different things. Hence "millions" of other ways. How about stalemate (think Korean war), complete destruction of one side without their surrender (no one to surrender), mutual destruction, transformation into a kind of conflict we wouldn't call war, one side unilaterally decides to leave without surrendering or negotiating...

    • @MouhibBayounes
      @MouhibBayounes Рік тому

      @@justliberty4072 aren't all of these nogotiations. I guess the korean stalemate is different but other than that, "complete destruction" is just destruction which has been said, mutual distruction is distruction. I'm not saying they are the same thing, but they fall under either negotiations or distruction. And "one side decides to leave" i said that that could be another way in my original comment "maybe change of mind". So all options are either distruction, negotiations or change of mind (which is very unique and rare)
