@@tonymckinney1355 the movie was more than that it was about love , injustice, police violence towards black people. Plus this movie was made to touch people and to make awareness which was needed and is still needed till this day.

Omg “If Beale street could talk” that movie is so deep !! Smh 🤦🏻♀️ My story in real life !! I remember watching it on the airplane while on my flight ✈️ back to the US … I was coming back from Algeria 🇩🇿 had I known my whole life would change !! I miss my love so much and he has 5 more years to go before he is released !! How I miss him sooo much smh 🤦🏻♀️ it’s crazy !! This movie hit all the right places . I’m about to watch beyond the lights and waves I haven’t seen those two yet ! Coming to America is one of my faves also !!

Love always is another excellent movie..it's about an artist who meets up with a up and comming female black lawyer they both on the come up but once they do does one sacrifice their dreams for the sake of their love...great movie

Black oriented romance movies here in the U.S.A. don't have enough passion compared to the black oriented movies in Africa. Don't get me wrong, there are some African American romantic movies I think had more passion. Such movies as the Blaxploitation classics Melinda and The Black Godfather. Movies that came out in The 90s such as Boys N The Hood and Sprung.Modern day movies such as The Gospel and Diary Of A Mad Black Woman.

I definitely don't agree with this list. I haven't seen a couple of these movies. A couple of these movies don't really qualify as romantic movies. Queen and Slim was more about racism and betrayal than romance.

Top three movies are all sad struggle black people getting killed and imprisoned movies dang.
"If Beale Street could talk" was disappointing. The movies pace was awkward. I do want to check the book out but the movie came off too much like a book where I felt like I was missing a chunk and not getting some of it since the directing had too much detail too random things in the movie. There was just no build up and came off very flat. I loved the actors and actresses just the directing seemed bad. It should have gotten rid of the narrating I think that's what threw the whole movie off for me.
