Putting down a heavy duty ground covering first and also having a tent with a heavy duty floor is the best way to go camping, and of course, specialized rugs just for your tent helps too.
Some of the newer diesel heaters have more advanced controllers, with Bluetooth as well. And find one with the newer silent fuel pump, the ones that tick will drive you nuts.
The inflatable bed transfer the cold ground to your body. A cot allows for a barrier between you and the ground. It also doesn't require electric or gets holes. The kitchen set up is nice. I agree a diesel heater would be better. I have thought about a pellet/wood stove.
A great trip. Thanks for sharing this. You are right-- operating the buddy heater on low is best. Some folks try to get the inside of the tent too dang hot; the best temps are somewhere in the upper 50s to upper 60s, if ya ask me. I vote to just keep it. Here in TN, you can exchange a 15 pound propane cylinder out for 18 bucks. That is cheap enough. You're also right that on the low setting, the cylinder lasts SOOOO much longer. We had a deep freeze here these last 8 days, and I used my buddy heater (same one you got) all night long on low in my living room. Slept on a recliner. Kept the place at 72-75 all night. One thing that will really help a buddy heater is to use that Jackery to power a small box fan.... placed in front of it pointing out into the cabin. It will totally circulate that heat inside your cabin tent. It is the weakness of a buddy heater; it needs a fan strong enough to push the heat out and up, swirling it around the room. I bought the hose and use the 15 pound tanks. Those little green 1 pound bottles just ain't enough; they last about 4 hours or so. Not enough for me. I am amazed at how much I like your big tent. That extra room just seems to make the entire trip SO much better than if you had packed in a 5 by 7 A frame backpacking tent, which is what I have been packing in on camping trips. I already want a bigger tent and glamping is starting to look really nice to me.
thanks once again, much enjoyed....those scallops looked so yummmy, along with the remainder of the meal...Chester is so entertaing and loveable....enjoy the change of seasons....
She reminds me of this old Cajun cooking show. Every time he used wine in cooking, you always saw him taking a swig of wine. Love the dog cam in the beginning. Has anyone tried one of those portable out kitchens with everything in it. Not sure what they weight but running kitchen sink and stove and prep room. You guys can do camp ground meals show.
Found your channel this morning. As a fellow ontarian a heck of a lot older than you…I live vicariously through youtube to enjoy things I could do before I got sick with CRPS. Second I heard you say Canada problems as you put the truffle oil to thaw I just HAD to subscribe ❤❤😂
Great fall camping video! Loved seeing Chester out there. You mentioned the air mattress being used for ice fishing.. you would probably get a lot of cold air coming up through from the ice below which would make the two of you pretty cold. Something to think about. Great episode. Always enjoy seeing a new one pop up.
We take our dogs everywhere we go especially camping and hiking. Yes, most of the time they do sleep on the bed. There are times that they have their own warming blanket.
Eskimo makes a great product. Have the four sided insulated gray interior. Buddy heater and a 20 lbs tank you're too warm. Have to keep that thing on low.
Just found your channel and subbed...very enjoyable and I love that tent first time I have seen such a design. I live in an old RV and have a propane Buddy heater also they are lifesavers, Thanks for the great videos and take care.
I was thinking about the wet vs dry heat between the propane and diesel heaters. I think the propane heater is wet because all it does it heat exisitng air where as the diesel heater is heating air from the outside (forced air) and pumping it in. But that is just my guess.
have you guys ever done any desert camping in the southwest area? might make for some cool content since it's so much different than winter/fall camping up north
My English bulldog does with her bed when she’s laying in it….they say its a habit sometimes if the dogs were pulled a little earlier then normal from their mother. It’s like a soothing sucking for them like getting milk
Just found your Channel tonight and am binge watching. Love you guys and Chester too! Hope you guys come to Nova Scotia!! Camp here, by the lake. 5 min from ocean. Woods. Deer in our yard with her twin babies, bunnies, eagles and our Crows.
So.... I was thinking about how to transport a non living person to the swamp up north without raising suspicion..... Ice fishing tent bag, good idea ;)
Bro i thought you were married to her…. but if your not don’t take a chance on letting her go. She’s a really cool chick. I love your videos when its you two.
Greetings from Oz. Love your videos. Can you please add Lat and Long / or link to Google earth so we can see where you are each time - unless it is secret. Then any Lat and Long will keep us happy. Blessings.

Light snow falling silently has to be the most peaceful thing there is.
With the right company and some special hot chocolate.......
Joelle in the body bag was hilarious! Why is it food always tastes better when camping. Fun video! Can't wait til you are able to go ice camping!
Thanks for watching :)
I knew she is a cook but the way she took a swig of that wine, that girls a chef!! Thanks for sharing

Nice camp setup! There’s Black Friday sales on diesel heaters today. I hear they’re good. I got mine on the way
That kitchen table rocks!
We take our dogs everywhere we go especially camping and hiking. Yes, most of the time they do sleep on the bed. There are times that they have their own warming blanket.
Sometimes we bring his bed along, but he doesn't care, still gets up on our bed in the middle of the night lol
I was worried were you guys fighting I didn't see your favorite girl or Chester I'm glad you're all back together
Eskimo makes a great product. Have the four sided insulated gray interior. Buddy heater and a 20 lbs tank you're too warm. Have to keep that thing on low.

That is so funny about your dog needing to chew his blanket at bedtime.
1sr time viewer, enjoyed the vid, you've a beautiful dog. 😊
Thanks for watching :)
have you guys ever done any desert camping in the southwest area? might make for some cool content since it's so much different than winter/fall camping up north
Nope, but we really want to!
Having that shanty bag double as a body bag gives me an idea for a practical joke this winter on the ice 😆. Great video BTW .
🤣

Looking forward to the diesel heater test!!!!
My chocolate lab/ husky mix does the same thing with his blanket everyday day!

My cat sleeps with her blanket in her mouth sometimes she sucks on it ❤😂
Diesel heaters are nice, but the noisy clicking pump sucks.
yea I was thinking about putting it in a cooler and leaving it outside the tent...I'll have to get creative!
That could be my body in there lol. Nice video guys
You guys are so funny ^^
Bro get a small fan to circulate the heat from the fan and stop the condensation.
Just found your Channel tonight and am binge watching. Love you guys and Chester too! Hope you guys come to Nova Scotia!! Camp here, by the lake. 5 min from ocean. Woods. Deer in our yard with her twin babies, bunnies, eagles and our Crows.
Would a container of DampRid eliminate the moisture created from the propane heater. An experiment for you to try and let us know. Thanks
Why not go with an electric heater and solar panels to go along with the portable power stations you guys have been advertising?
2:00 serial killers taking notes...
All good! :)

With my true and tried case of arachnaphobia, there would be no way in hell that I'd ever go camping without a completely enclosed tent !!
you both needs to wear bear suits when camping it would be funny and you be warm all at the same time. lol
Hip!
Maybe get yourselves a CO detector if you don’t have one already 😊
