Fabulous tutorial! Your mastery of what many would regard as a crude instrument with little potential is simply exquisite. Subscribed. Looking forward to learning more!
So sorry to hear of your health issues. Seems like it takes many decades to master the things we want to conquer. Then, when we have come to that mountain top, the years show up with health issues. I am in the same position. But through the sure mercies of God, I am able to keep going. I pray that will be the case with you. You have a lot to share with us, and I thank you for taking the time to post these video's
Yes great tutorial easy too follow. This fantastic little guitar really lends itself to the Delta blues. I agree everyone wants to use these instruments as a cheap rock guitar they are very versatile but really it's the blues when this lovely guitar really sings
I am in Mississippi USA. Were the blues started from. And must say good job sir. We have hill country were i am. And delta about 2 hrs north. And Robert was from 20 miles from me and my home town.
Yes ,that’s just a packer .i am not fussed about aesthetics which I feel is in the spirit of these guitars .The however sound it produces is for me the most important .Paul.
Thanks Paul simply fantastic. This song is next on my list to learn. Been playing about 3 years now but, boy howdy something clicked about three months ago. Really in love with finger picking and more traditional blues. Thanks buddy sure hope your spirits are encouraged regardless your circumstances. Hope to hear more from you soon!
I dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Kingsley Reginald i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hi Paul, you may have come across him by now but Reverend Peyton in the U.S. is fantastic with using his thumb on the low string as a sort of constant bass while playing melody on high strings. His band, Rev Peyton Big Damn Band ,doesn't have a bass. Loads of stuff on UA-cam. I recommend in particular him playing at a stall at N.A.M.M. 2018. Thought I'd mention it as you said you could not find anyone. All the best.
Great tutorial. Appreciate the alternating base with thumb. Merle Travis, Doc Watson to mention a few used it to great effect on the 6 string. You said you would like to know of anybody using and teaching it on 3 string. I would refer you to Justin Johnson on UA-cam, who plays that style and teaches it. It is harder than it looks. As Tommy Emmanuel says, you have to make your thumb ignore your other fingers.
The dvd has proved hard to form into a purchase format (£18 ish), but hopefully at some time It will come about. I have illness as well but this is improving . Regards Paul.
