This is a a more expensive and rebranded Klein ET450. That being said, its saved the day and paid for itself multiple times over. Its simply a must have for a trade professional. Great video as usual and solid sales pitch.
The plus has a few features that aren’t included in the regular. I cover them all at the end but the plus has voltage and continuity on the unity. The receiver also has a non contact voltage tester as well
I'm a DIY guy. A few months ago one of my A/H's was off. Usually it's the float switch for the condensate but it was clear. The breaker wasn't tripped but I had no power at the A/H. This was starting to make no sense as I had power at the breaker. I removed the wires from the A/H and tied them together and checked continuity at the panel which I had. I ruled out critters eating the wires in the attic. I swapped the wires to a working breaker and still no power. I was stumped. I decided to buy another breaker anyway even though I knew this made no sense. On the way to HD I remembered we had load sheds on the A/C's for the whole house generator. They have a contactor and control board. They are normally closed. The reverse of an A/C contactor. I bypassed the contactor and back in business. I spent a few hours figuring that out as I was stumped. Normally your wiring goes from the panel to the A/H. I wonder if something like this would have made the troubleshooting quicker. Turned out Generac had defective boards in the load shed and it was covered under warranty. If anyone reading this ever has the same issue with a Generac load shed you don't have to bypass the contactor. Just remove the connector on the board and the defective board won't pull the contactor in.
It automatically tests. There wont be any continuity on a live circuit tho or it would be tripping and be off. It can tone while energized which is great. Theres no settings on the unit tho it’ll automatically show if there is continuity
It depends. If there’s continuity that means there’s a short and it’ll tell you the strength to know where the short is coming from. The energized portion isn’t continuity, it’s toning

Thanks again for your review! We appreciate your thoughts on our new product!
It’s been fantastic!
What’s the difference between regular package and plus besides the case?🤔

What makes this 4-5 times better than the Klein ET450?
Could you use the Sure Trace to track ground faults with the strength reading? One lead to ground, one lead to the field wire?
100%!
Hey brother I would really love it if you can show real life situations with the circuit breaker finder , like a video game tutorial type of vibe
That would be cool! I’ll put it on the list!
IDEAL is a highly underrated company (and its a Union-company).
Appreciate this video
Thanks bro. It’s a sweet tracer
I bought one woow is useful a lot 👍👍👍
It really is!
@americanelectrician cause I have 61-969 circuit tracer good tool for me helps me alot

I like the idea of a hot toner
It’s been a game changer
so continuity is safe to test on this device even if the circuit might be energized or get energized at some point?
It automatically tests. There wont be any continuity on a live circuit tho or it would be tripping and be off. It can tone while energized which is great. Theres no settings on the unit tho it’ll automatically show if there is continuity
@@americanelectrician thanks for your response. just one last thing. Is tracing wires a form of continuity?
It depends. If there’s continuity that means there’s a short and it’ll tell you the strength to know where the short is coming from. The energized portion isn’t continuity, it’s toning
@@americanelectrician Thank you
Sales pitch. No actual how to trace the problem.
OMG!! It took 17 minutes to say what could have been said in 5 minutes.
Buy the Klein tools ET450 way better
Yea may be I have the 450 but that digital read out on the bottom of the transmitter is awesome when you have a tall panel box could be really useful
