- And with this, the first REAL Dark Aeon goes down. Lot of fun this one, lots of frustration too, had to use Aeons for this one but as I said before, the no Aeon rule no longer applies to these fights, they are the cream of the crop in Final Fantasy X
It's time to start on the many other bosses that Final Fantasy X has to offer. That's right, time to go through everything in the Monster Arena and battle the ever dangerous Dark Aeons. Rules are going to start to broken here, not everything is possible without Aeons BUT that won't stop me from trying to kill as much as I can without them of course. Strap up ladies and gents, a wild ride awaits us.

Love that the algorithm showed me this. Unbelievable. I remember my first dark aeon being the random Ixion. I was shocked and, soon after, pulverized.
That was Dark Shiva for me. Was just going to get the destruction sphere that I missed and BAM game over 😭

Man i remember fighting him back on the PS2 when I was a kid. Thought I had a good crew too and always got massacred. Never in my dreams would I have thought you could defeat him without using sphere grids. Hats off to you!

@@hardtooths- you will never get your question answered because there might be a probably they never had the EU and or asian version.
I tried a no sphere grid run once and I was super surprised at how easy it was.
I got all the way to the underwater boss. I sold a weapon with the lightning element that would have allowed me to get passed it so that’s where my run ended.
Ahh yes, the dreaded Extractor. Just before you get rikku and the whole run changes too. If you do ever go back to it, buy the slowtouch weapon for tidus in Luca, that helps out A LOT
I got stuck on that boss in NSG too, and I also missed the Stunning Steel in Luca. However, you can still do it if you have enough potions and get lucky. I don't think either TIdus or Wakka had a Lightning weapon, but it definitely took a lot of tries. Someone made a video about beating that boss NSG w/o Stunning Steel (if I hadn't seen proof it was possible, I would have just restarted...)
This was my first Final Fantasy I platinumed. Took me about 150 hours. This game is so deep, its definitely the best Final Fantasy game. Much as I love 7 it just doesnt have as many optional Super Bosses. Outside Ruby and Emerald theres almost zero challenge. FFX has hard bosses everywhere.

that's impressive.. I have only defeated those dark aeon by using zanmato lol
I wish they'd make an FF Superboss out of "The Party," and you literally have to kill them over 100 times so they run out of items for Auto-Phoenix
Better yet give 99 phoenix downs to the superbosses. Imaginekilling Penance 100 times 😂🤔🤔
I got here after being slaughtered by Jecht when he draws his sword (like x10). When I see the damage You are making I start to question my playthrough
Nahh. I can assure you Jecht is a hard boss fight

I've been playing this game for 2 decades and I had no idea until now that buffs remained on summons after you dismiss them...
Same here! Played this for the first time in 2008, replayed it dozens of times and just learned it too.
To be fair, unless you are fighting these guys and in a NSG run, you never really need to re-summon in a fight
What about the overdrive bar that stays full after the characters die. I'm playing the original ps2 version on my phone right now and this was never a thing. It's either modded or they changed it in the hd remake
@@nicknultien627 Characters have never lost their overdrives after being ko'd, atleast on the PAL and japanese versions, never played the OG american ps2 version. Only aeons lose it

No need to think. It is completely impossible without auto-phoenix, you will never have enough turns

The first time i played final fantasy 10 back in 8th grade my fried lend it to me and I didn’t get the concept of the sphere grid and I didn’t use it i made it to seymor 2 before i got stuck i asked my fried for help and when he came to my house he was like “ how the fuck did you make it this far ??? Your characters suck the biggest balls ive ever seen “ 😂

The items seem to be the backbone of a play through like this, so is there any way you can do a vid on how to grind for them? Is it all monster capturing or is there an easier way? This is the kind of OPness we all dream of.
You can get almost everything from monster capture alone. I will start working on a vid to explain how to get this stuff. Keep in mind if you want to get these items in NSG the legit way get ready for a looooong grind. (FFXED for the lazy 😁)

- Grinding will certainly not help you. Why ? Because UA-camrs are using PC remastered FFX with a software fix feature that you can take advantage ,no abused of the gil , item and other as cheats.
-I have just noticed after replying back to the main content creator that UA-cam disables links of UA-cam itself.
-Search the name Darkkefka Episode 23_braska final aeon then skip to 3:33 to what you're curious about how these No Sphere Grid challenges have abundance of items on the PC version.
@@jackkrauser5336 Most items you can grind pretty easily. It's when you have to steal 480 chocobo wings for auto haste or 500+ dark matters for ribbons. If you have the time go for it, if you don't have fun grinding or don't have the time, by all means use whatever the game gives you to make it easier, it's only a single player game after all
@@LootGoblin20 -1 -I only played the original during my days before leaving high school and trade school to enlist in the military.
-2 -the 2 main reason for grinding items are overkills to double the drops of normal or low% rare items and there is when Riku joins the party ¼ of the game completion for steal , since you creators are playing no sphere grid for mug , then this is actually my 2nd choice.
-I have moved on to other things so I don't have time to waste on gaming as I did back in my youthful years.
what happens if Ifrit have an aoe attack? which kills whole party?

Thankfully the only AOE attack Dark Ifrit has is his overdrive. As long as you pay attention to that and he lets you have someone that can block, you should not die

So whenever you got AP, you let them as default as it is?
I get the AP, I get the S.lvls, I just don't use them and finish the game with base stats

Can u explain whats with weapon change? Its seems like most of the time u r not attacking... Is there any reason to that?
Ofc. I explained in other videos but basically, if I attack without trio, all I am doing is having him counter and waste a phoenix down. By changing weapons I am manipulating turns on the CTB (the turn bar at the top right) to try and get the most favorable possible turn order in order to either survive, or unleash a trio'd overdrive

You should see my Dark Ixion fight. Don't know how many i had left here but I finished that fight with 4 left I believe.

Wait how can Anima have all those hp if you havent used sphere grid on Yuna?
You have to manually raise their stats using the aeon's soul key item you get from belgemine. I showed how to do it in episode 83 if you want to check it out.
@@LootGoblin20 Ah right, now I remember! I've actually never used it much. I think it needs a lil bit of grinding for certain items to be able to significantly increase the stats? Or maybe there is an easy way to get them and I just don't know it. Anyway thanks, will check it out!
@@forthelesserevil1784 Let me tell you my friend, if you grind this the legit way, get ready for hundreds and hundreds of hours of grinding, thousands if you raise luck manually as well
@@LootGoblin20 Yeah I can imagine! I play FFX since like 2003, but I've never really been the grinding one and, honestly, hearing it from someone who knows what they are doing, scares me to do it even more xD

How to get Anima to 45K HP?
Hey hey check out ep83 where I show how it works. Basically you farm kottos for power spheres, speed spheres, etc and manually raise your aeons stats
I spent thousands of hours on FFX since the PS2 release but i never tried a NSG run
I still can't beat Penance....he's the only uber boss left

I first played FF10 in 2007 when I was 16. I didn’t get all celestial weapons because it’s so hard haha.
True, getting Lulu and Tidus celestial weapons still gives me nightmares...
I was only able to get Lulu's celestial weapon. But oh it's hard. Dodging lightning 200 times consistently is hard.

is it possible to do break damage limit with basic stats? since you deal damage limit already
Tecnhically you can use dark matters that deal 13k and sunburst that deals 19998 dmg. But apart from those fixed damage attacks, no. Even the 9999 hits are only possible thanks to Trio

Which enemies you can defeat doing no phere grid challenge? If I remeber correctly, you can do most if not all dark aeons, but you cannot do penance or that strongest arena guy. I also wonder is it even possible to do dark Yojimbo or Bahamut? I remember those guys had aoe attack, or can you defeat them with good rng or counting turns? I don't remember was their attack random or not. Valefor, Ifrit, Ixion, Shiva and Anima only have single attack except their overdrive. I don't know about magus sisters, maybe if you run and defeat each of them when they are alone.
Soo it is possible to defeat every dark aeon with no sphere grid, but you will have to manually raise your aeons stats to max. Magis sisters you can't do all at once, you can do Mindy and Sandy together and then Cindy by herself. Dark Anima only one person to my knowledge has done it, atleast on camera amd that is Dansg08. I will however give it my best shot on every single of them by the end of this playthrough
You can also beat all arena monsters except Shinryu (there is a battle on youtube but the owner itself admitted that it was a cheat run). I think you can do Nemesis if you cheat to unlock him but I personally never tried it. Penance is a no go though
@@LootGoblin20 Yeah, Shinryu have that petrification ability which pierce trought stoneproof and ribbon, without 99 999 damage you can't kill him before he petrify and shatter whole team. Penance is no go because you cannot destroy those hands fast enough without 99 999 damage and he will just kill whole party with his best attack.
@@piaxerofchaos1309 Exactly also you can't use Yuna on shinryu so no zanmato. Fortunately with FFXED you can edit that Nemesis is unlocked so I will still try to go for him.
Auto fenix autohaste? Is non truly a non sphere grid
Why do tou say that? The sphere grid was never used and that is a fact. Auto-Haste and Auto-Phoenix are a result of customization which is a core feature of any playthrough of this game so I don't see how it affects being a NSG game or not

how you hitting 9999 with no sphere grid
You see that trio of 9999 mix that I do with Rikku? Thats what does it. Just get gambler spirits or door to tomorrow and mix them easily. There are other items that do it but I am not familiar with all mixes so it's best to take a look at the list online

They were only available in the UK version iirc.
The remaster on ps4 had them too
These guys were only available in the PAL (Europe version), international version released in Japan and in the remaster only

Unfortunately Penance is not possible in no sphere grid without zanmato. I do however plan on doing the Penance extreme challenge at some point in the future

@@Uryen_Hirasakai I specifically said that the only reward is the sense of accomplishment and nothing else. Which means no trophies or anything of the sort, in fact its the opposite as there is a tropht for completing the whole grid. Do I have to draw THAT out for you?
