- Thrift with me at Salvation Army and Goodwill! I have been thrilled with my luck thrifting lately, so many unique and valuable vintage treasure have come home with me! I can't wait for you to see how packed the thrift store shelves were and what I found on this thrift shopping day. We'll also do a close up haul of everything I decided to bring home and how I styled my new thrift store decor in my home!

Great finds.yes these store prices are going crazy with upping prices. I get that there prices has to be raised a little,but not at retail store prices. If they can remember that it was free.we do want to shop for bargains and not to be discouraged from buying.❤
I agree! It’s getting to the point where we won’t want to donate our stuff anymore. Might as well just sell it ourselves.

I was so hoping you'd bring home that lovely Jacobean floral pillow cover. First item you picked up but then put down. That would have fit nicely with your antique nautical design (Jacobean period 1603-1632, which was also the age of English Naval exploration, hence Jamestown). Of course, you see and feel through texture the quality, or lack of quality, that we cannot. I am so in awe of the thrift stores where you live...you really are lucky! :)
Wow your goodwill has so many things to choose from ours has a over abundance of clothes and shoes . Unless you are there when they bring the cart's out you are out of luck Ty for sharing ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Feel better soon

Aww hate you're dealing with cold.. summer colds are the worse😞 i probably already mentioned it, but we're in the process of moving from Tennessee to Florida. We went out Saturday evening exploring a little, and I'm so overwhelmed! There's 10 thrift stores within lees than 6 miles, one is a perfect really large habitat restore with a large thrift store right beside it.. that's going to be my first stop, I'm in need of some furniture!😁 Buy The the next little town just 10-15min down the road has another 11 thrift stores! There's so many places within an hour including the Good Will bins, which I've never been to one, and Lord only knows what Tampa has, i know there a large antique mall..i haven't even looked up the antique store yet! I told my husband i could shop somewhere new every day for a few months😄 There's not a Good Will in this town but about 15min.. but i really don't care! There's lots of stores that support Christian ministries too. Lol.. Sorry, like i said overwhelmed, and quite excited!!😁 Those little shutters were really sweet. I have that same little gold colored shelf, but its been muted down a bit. I love buying the little small shelves like that to put under a piece of art & add in gallery walls.. I've collected quite a few, some gold toned but most are wood stained, some are ornate, some have little pegs, all different kinds! Really nice selection of baskets there! Wow, lots of art/frames too.. one of my fav sections❤ Love the mirror with the little shelf, cute! Hey little bump i see you!👋🫃 Lots of glass ware too.. but ummm that one large glass vase or candle holder was way pricey for a thrift store! You could probably find it new for that, or cheaper!😮 I google Lens everything, and i will definitely use it in the store before i purchase a piece to see if its worth the asking price or just to get some info/insight on it, find the age, etc. if I'm not sure about it! I tell people all the time they need to use it, especially when they are asking the viewers about it or if it looks like it could be a really great find. I'm honestly surprised more people don't use it & some don't really know anything about it! The veggie pieces were a nice find! What were they actually used for? I wondered what that copper piece was😄 makes sense now! I hope i can find some old copper pots in some of these stores.🤞🏼 Soooo many tchotchke's! Ohhh wow..looks like the yacht model was an awesome find!😮 I don't collect any type of boats/ships..but I would have snapped that one up too! Ahh I think an on line store would be really cool! I did notice there were Good Will stickers on some of the pieces, i just didn't pay attention to prices 🤷♀️ That Is is weird, they are usually a bit cheaper. When we had out thrift store we would put anything of real value on eBay or we had certain customers that we knew looked for certain things we'd contact. We kept our prices down, we didn't shop for the store, it was all donations, estate left overs, house clean outs.. Things like that. A proceeds supported the recovery home we had. So personally we spent nothing, made nothing. But we were the only thrift store around, mostly antique stores. So we did ok! Just put on your " I'm a utuber" tshirt.. maybe no one will ask😄 jk! The magnifying glass is very unusual, looks old too. Oh I loved the w little gold shelves, or were they book ends? Still loved them❤ I like to buy books like the one you picked up to have for pictures to put in little frames I find.. have quite few. Then I do the mod podge hack! That sconce really was beautiful, shame it was ruined🫤 I love having those to add around pictures, gallery walls, different spaces. I've collected some really pretty ones. Where you placed the veggie ceramic pieces looks really pretty! I love the quilted patchwork apron & where you placed the magnifying glass. The bunting looks really nice! Very nice haul!! I love going on the shop with me trips and chatting about all the pieces. Of course you well know it doesn't take a shopping trip for me to get all chatty😂 Yep Mrs Chatty Box🙋♀️ I really did enjoy.. thanks for taking us along & sharing! Have A great 4th of July holiday 🇺🇸🎆

We live twenty minutes away from each other and I stopped there last week. I bought the salt dish, it did have a chip on it but I bought it for my own personal use. I found a nice Christmas throw, and a few shirts. At the other place I found some shirts as well. It really is a hit and miss in those two places and are lucky when you do find something. I love going to Dewitt to the goodwill and Lansing. I never buy new anymore. Lucky that goodwill does coupons because that’s when I go because prices are a bit ridiculous. So sad it’s got that way. Nice finds and I enjoy your channel.
Oh you got the salt dish, nice! I think it was only $5 if I remember. Not a bad price at all! I will usually only ever buy something at Goodwill when they send out a coupon. I wish they did things like other goodwills. Half off certain tag days or 40% off certain days etc. I also noticed the lowest they will go any item is 3.99. I haven’t seen anything priced below that in over a year.
@@oldmaplehomeour goodwill stores (we have 2 in our town) have 50% off a certain color tag every Tuesday, 25% off every Wednesday for seniors, medical professionals and teachers. Sadly, they price stuff super high. I’ve seen Dollar tree items that were $1 priced at $3.99! They’ve also started bundling things so if you are looking for 1 plate, cup or bowl, you are forced to buy 2 or more…..usually 4 at least. They stack and tape items together so you can’t look them over and see if they are in good shape.
Hope you’re feeling better soon. Yes, Goodwill has raised their prices to a ridiculous point. A lot of people I follow on UA-cam are doing the shopping/sharing the haul thing. It seems especially good for people who can’t get out to enjoy. Probably the most successful one I’ve seen who sells online is Julie from Julie’s Designs and Signs. You might check her out for info.

I’ve owned the copper double boiler for a least 50 year. Probably paid?29.99. Just saw it on eBay for $680.98

I had a fit wishing I could pick up all those Home Interior figurines. 🤦🏻♀️. They had a nice selection of things. That one HOMCO shelf with the brass detail, I had years ago. Wish I still had all my HOMECO. I also had a matching set of HOMCO gold shelves you picked up. Miss those too.
I bet that’s frustrating lol! I’ve never heard of homeco, but I see those guilded corbel shelves all of the time. I could see so many uses for them.

I use shutters for shelving. These stores need to realize that people are having hard times now too with increasing prices in everyday items we have to have. That old light would be cute on the porch or deck. I’m 69 and I have a magnifying glass in most rooms of my house. I’m getting older and print on everything is getting smaller. You have a lovely home.
I was trying so hard to think what to do with those shutters, they were darling! Yes, the rising prices are taking a lot of the joy out of second hand shopping. Many of us won’t want to even donate things anymore knowing how much they are asking for things. We might as well sell them ourselves. Thank you for watching!! ☺️

I understand it. Taxes, rents, salary, insurance policies have raised pricing, a business can’t absorb these costs. In the other side, why should a reseller make the money when GW can?
I think the issue most people take lies in the fact that they get all of their merchandise for free. They profit 100% + off of every item they sell and they are positioning themselves as a place of charity when their business model is to compete with big box stores that sell all new merchandise like Wal Mart and Target.

@@oldmaplehome 100% agree with your statement. Isn’t the goal of these thrift stores to turn over merchandise quickly and to make money to support their causes? If prices are much less than retail seems they’d get rid of more merchandise, still making $$ and customers get a good deal and resellers will purchase more if they feel there is money to be made. It’s a win win for all. Btw I Love your videos.
