Sophie was walking home in tears, her body soaked from the rain. The beautiful dress she wore for the solemn occasion stuck to her body. Her hair hung in dull strands along her face. Without even considering seeking shelter from the rain, Sophie thought it was better this way. The rain disguised her tears streaming down her cheeks, making them indistinguishable from raindrops.
Ron... How could he? The man whom Sophie had always considered the bravest, most reliable, and loving, was now hiding behind the back of his silent father while his mother was not sparing with her words this evening.
Absorbed in her unhappy thoughts, Sophie did not notice how she reached home. That's what stress does to people. The girl didn't notice how she had covered about 5 kilometers.
Sophie stopped. She couldn't go home in this state. Her mother would start asking questions, worrying, and becoming anxious. It could even be dangerous.
Helen had a weak heart, and her condition had worsened with age, especially recently. Sophie needed to avoid causing unnecessary worries. So, she decided to go to the mall nearby, dry off a bit, have a cup of coffee at the food court, recover, and then put on one of her complacent smiles before showing to her mother.
Taking care of her mother had become second nature to Sophie since she was a child. Sophie had witnessed her heart attacks many times before. Sometimes Helen had even been hospitalized. They had no relatives to look after the little girl and as a result, the young Sophie was often left under the care of neighbors for several days or even weeks.
Once, Sophie overheard a conversation between her mother and her friend and found out that she had been forbidden from having children at all. Then the girl, of course, asked her mother questions, and at first, Helen denied everything, but eventually, she confessed.
"Yes, they warned me," her mother said. "But their predictions turned out to be wrong. They didn't believe I could carry you at all. They predicted I'd be dead by midterm. But then I thought, why should I live if I can't have you? You were already with me, living in my heart. How could I get rid of you? No, it was the truest decision of my life."
Sometimes Sophie felt guilty, believing that it was her fault that her mother had such health problems. But Helen, noticing this, always got angry with her.
"Don't even think such a thing! I always wanted to have a daughter like you, and I'm happy that I defied all predictions! And I was right, by the way. Yes, I have a heart condition. But who can guarantee it wouldn't have happened even without giving birth? I've had it since I was a child. At first, the doctors said I wouldn't survive pregnancy, then they said I wouldn't survive childbirth. Later, they assured me that you would end up in an orphanage at the age of two or three. Yet another beautiful story...I don't know if it is my imagination but some very annoying noise came through...if this was not my favorite channel I would be gone the minute I head it😅...again best channel and narrator ever.

This one gave me knots in my throat and tears rolled down my face 😭😭.
I was soooo hoping that it would end with Ron and his cruel parents seeing Sophie's success and regret how they treated her and now wheels turned with them seeking help from her.

Some of the stories have weird sounds that are too loud! I told the narrator about this and she said she would fix it but it still hasn't happened yet! Maybe you should let her know that too!

What a wonderful feel good story. I’m so glad that Sophie found her true love in Douglas and had left that unreliable Ron. I hope he and his snobbish parents would get their desserts. Unfortunately, the story didn’t mention what happened to them.

Ron and his parents are like a lot of peo0le that think everyone is after their money. They are probably like that themselves and don't deserve SOPHIE and people like her.. we need more inspirational stories l8ke this. Thank you...
Now that was my kind of story. All of the people who deserved good things got them. However, the one quibble I have is that Ron (and his snooty parents) seemed to come out unscathed after revealing his (their) true colors to Sophie. In my mind's scenario, Ron's parents would have been impoverished and imprisoned due to embezzlement and Ron would have had to take a menial, low paying job at Douglas's company...Still, this was a very good, very heartwarming story that I most definitely enjoyed.

One can assume that Douglas proposed to Sophie and they got married. However,I do wish that this would have been mentioned by the narrator. I am glad that Sophie ended up with Douglas rather than with that awful Ron.❤

What's up with the sound? At 1:15:09 you can't hear the narration at all. There's a terrible static sound that blocks out everything else.
Agreed. All of a sudden, there was a crowd of people talking . Luckily, they quieted quickly.

What on earth was the two horrible glitches with the sound quality - especially starting at 1.08? It was so loud that I literally couldn't hear the story and had to read the text.
The story was sweet and, as always, enjoyably predictable.
That is the way to handle audio problems. 😊 At least the noise was brief. Story was super.
Another beautiful story however almost at the end of story there is an annoying noise interruption that i had to turn volume down.
Hope this is corrected and wont happen as i love your channel and dont want to miss new ones.

This story has a duplicate in another video I watched this morning. I did enjoy both of these stories but the background noise at 108 was a serious problem.

Irrelevant, sometimes distracting background! Poor English grammar! Poor spelling of some everyday words! Poor punctuation! Poor pronunciation of some everyday words! Terrible noise so that the particular section cannot be heard or understood!
