I read the manga about Akaza's blood demon art can detect fighting spirits, so basically in my AU, only humans have fighting spirits, Pokémons don't have fighting spirits PS. Pikachu already had survive from battling legendary pokemon, there is no way he is not gonna survive a strong demon
