- Hello Planterior Decorators! 🌿
Welcome back! I'm showing you some of the plants I keep in my IKEA Greenhouses; including Anthurium, Philodendrons, Alocasia, Hoya, and even a Jewel Orchid.
My greenhouses are set up to have very high humidity. If you want to use these cabinets to display cacti or succulents, you wouldn't need to add humidity/weather-stripping. The cabinets are amazing for an array of things, including just keeping little hands/paws off of your beautiful plants! Use them however you like! :)
My Amazon Shop & Socials: linktr.ee/PlanteriorDecorator (includes all mentioned products for Canada & USA)
My IKEA Greenhouses:
Tall Milsbo: • IKEA Greenhouse Cabine...
Detolf: • IKEA Greenhouse Cabine...
Wide Milsbo: • IKEA Greenhouse Cabine...
**EDIT**
I have incorrectly used the word 'Totem' to describe the plant support and would like to correct myself. It is a word commonly misused in the plant community to describe this type of plant-styling, however the definition of Totem is: a natural object or animal that is believed by a particular society to have spiritual significance and that is adopted by it as an emblem. Thanks for understanding & learning with me!

I have 3 different types of Jewel orchids, this is just one more reason for me to get this greenhouse cabinet from Ikea! Loving all your videos so far. 😁
Hi!! LOVE LOVE LOVE all of your Ikea greenhouses!!! I WILL be getting one in the near future.... Yes please do a tutorial on the moss poles...I have many plants that I could use them for... also would like to know your soil mix. Hoyas are my "love plants"! and I really want to learn to work with Jewel Orchids... love the beautiful foliage.
Thank you 🥰🥰🥰 I'll certainly do a video about my soil mix!! Your hoyas will be so happy in a greenhouse 😍 if you have an instagram, tag me when your done so I can see it!! 💕🌿 If you can find yourself a jewel orchid, you gotta have one! SO beautiful! I stare at it all day 🤣
Setting up a tall milsbo on the weekend, thank you for all the info you've shared! Love this video. I've added so many plants to my list, now that I'll have an amazing environment for them. I need to get some Hoyas 😍
You're very welcome!! Hoyas are very addicting 😍😍😍 if you post a pic on Insta, tag me in it when it's all set up I'd love to see!! 🥰🌿
Great video
I don't have any of these beauties.... hope to find one.... girl love your plants and your background too.... new subscriber here Dear Friend.
..
🥰🌿
@@PlanteriorDecorator i also have some plants videos if you are interested
Can you please make a video of how to take care of the plants when they are “moving out” from the green house?
Yet another awesome video!!! Such great info 😄. I would love it if you could make a moss pole tutorial video please!
Thank you 🥰 yes I'll definitely film one soon!! ❤🌿
Watching this reminded mo to check on my alocasia polly and there were loads of spider mites on an unfurling leaf. The rest of the leaves were fine but I doused it in neem oil solution and placed it in isolation. Hope it fares well as I adore my pollys.
What about the Anthurium “Flamingo Flower”???? I have one that’s wasn’t doing well at all. I put it in the ikea greenhouse!!! Thanks for the idea!!!! Love the videos!!!
Would love a totem tutorial! 💚💚
second here for a please do a moss pole tutorial
Hi! New subscriber here - my name is Angela! I'm trying to convince my husband to let me buy one of these - yours is absolutely perfect! 😍
Welcome Angela! 🥰 Thank you so much - you'd love it, they work so well! A really beautiful way to house your plants ❤🌿
Harlie G! love her!
me too 😍
“Growing like an actual psycho” about your Mathilde made me laugh out loud. Amazing plants!!
🤣 only the realest... the hoyas are outta control!
Love the cabinet and all the cool plants you own. Do the mini fans work with electricity or batteries? Thanks!
Thank you Gladys!! ❤🌿 I like to use ones that run on electricity because then I don't have to change batteries all the time since I run them 24/7 😁
@@PlanteriorDecorator Thank you
Please do a house plant tour..
Could you do an anthurium care guide or recommend one. I keep giving mine root rot and don’t get what I’m doing wrong HELP 🙂
Love your videos!! I'm so excited to create my own cabinet greenhouse. If I want to set up my greenhouse for a mini garden and grow things like lettuce and herbs how should I do it? Can I make the same space for my tropical plants and the garden?
Also, are you from Edmonton? I live here!! It's so cool having a youtuber like you that I can relate to, and your links really help as most other channels only have american links.
Thank you! Yes, you certainly could make one of these for vegetables and herbs, you wouldn't need the high humidity though 😁🌿
Yes, I am in Edmonton! Always awesome to meet more locals! 😁
Ugh I've been looking for anthuriums everywhere and can't find them! Any suggestions on where to look that ships in Canada.
Stunning greenhouse and plants! ✨ Would you have advice about watering baby plants? I bought a few but find their soil dries out so quickly like after a day of watering. Should I be watering frequently to keep soil moist or wait like two- or five-day intervals? The soil is drying out after only a day of watering for my baby Alocasia Frydek and micans (only a few leaves). The soil seems more loose and airy for both. I am afraid of overwatering but also afraid it needs frequent watering since soil is dry. Not sure if there are different care tips for when plant is young vs. mature. Thanks for any tips.
If you find your medium is drying out faster than you'd like, you can add different things to aid in water retention! Coco coir and peat moss are both excellent additives to help retain water between waterings :)
@@PlanteriorDecorator thanks for tip. I found the medium was finally staying moist longer after a week. Now it doesn’t fully dry out after only a day. Not sure why that was the case. But I am watering them when they are partially dry in three or more day intervals; so far they seem to be okay and showing new growth.
I’m no Hoya expert but I think your Lacunosa silver may be a khroniana Eskimo.
You're very correct on krohniana! The krohniana are a heart-leaf version of the lacunosa (to my understanding). I believe this plant could be identified in a number of different ways, one being Hoya krohniana 'Super Eskimo'! 🌿 An 'Eskimo' is more splashy and less silver 😁
I'm also no Hoya expert, but this is what I understand of the lacunosa/krohniana 😆 maybe a true expert will eventually hop in here and assist with their knowledge!
Have you ever grown a plant in just moss or do you transition them to soil? And do you have pest problems because you grow in soil?
I have a few living in moss, but I prefer to transition them to soil! I find I get the best growth in soil, despite nutritional additives. I use beneficial bugs to prevent any bug issues :) so nothing major!
Omg so Much Latin ;) do you have a Botanical education? Great looking cabinet, have to done a cost video for cabinet, lights, fan, heating system, and humidity system... would be interested to seeing the investment. Ty
Studied landscape architecture, but nothing tropical!
Good idea - it would certainly add up to more than a grow tent. Worth the investment for the aesthetics and ability to display the happy plants! 😁🌿
Do you have advice for people who want to start collecting more rare types of plants???
Yes for sure! I would suggest deciding on a plant you love the aesthetics of that you feel you can afford. The more you care about it, the better you will care for it!
Care for that one plant for a while to see if you're able to provide it the care it needs to look beautiful and bring you joy, then slowly start to bring it home friends 😁🌿❤
Generally these plants are more 'rare', not only because they're highly sought after, but also because a good number of them wouldn't survive on a shelf in a garden centre! Some need a little more TLC and before you really dive off the deep end, it's good to test the waters 😁
@@PlanteriorDecorator thank you! I’m thinking about getting a variegated standleyana 😍
That's a great choice 😍😍🌿
Where do you buy your clear plastic pots... link please 🙂
I can't find them online, but I buy them at local greenhouses 💕 they are clear orchid pots!
@@PlanteriorDecorator can you tell me which local greenhouse?
@@ginacivita5264 Ellerslie usually has them!
Idk something about Hoyas i don't like lol
Hey girl, do you have an Instagram account to follow?
I do! ❤🌿 @planteriordecorator
