Mantic Games: The new plastic Abyssal Dwarfs unboxed!

- I liked my new resin dwarfs for Vanguard Mantic released, but I'll be honest- these were the ones I was really after!
Finally they arrived and I couldn't be more happy. Really crisp detail on the plastic. Easy to remove from the sprue. A variety of choices for both heads and weaponry. Plus some giant monster doggies as a bonus.
The resin leader models are just as nice.
All in all I think they'd blend in quite nicely with the original Abyssal Dwarfs that Mantic released. If you want to add or supplement a current Kings of War army, start a Vanguard warband, or just have some evil dwarfs on hand to harangue the good guys, I this boxed set is a solid release and could see a lot of usage across a lot of game systems!

I haven't picked up any Mantic in a few years. Guess now it's time
You’ve revived these in my eyes. I’d dismissed them.
The only Chaos Dwarves I currently have are the ones that come with the Hell Cannons.
Oh and I somehow acquired some Warhammer Fantasy 5th edition Chaos Dwarves with blunderbusses.
Plus I have an Avatars of War Lord character.
It would be cool if that leader model had a Rexor style helmet choice from the Arnold Swarzenegger Conan The Barbarian movie.
7/10, hats are only moderately large.
These plus Chaos Warrior heads and you could make 1980's Oldhammer style Chaos Dwarves. A great kit!
Have you unboxed any of the Oathmark Dwarves? I'd like to see how they compare with other dwarf ranges.
Not yet. I may, one of these days if I can find some for a reasonable price. I'm worried they might be kinda tiny. I ought to see about getting some more Avatars of War dwarfs while I'm at it...

Plastic chaos dwarves very nice
How well do they rank up? They look beefy!
These will go together with regular plastic model glue?
I've liked the look of Mantic stuff for a while, but the materials they were using put me off.
With the exception of the resin heroes, everything works fine with plastic model glue. I've got the goblins that I need to post here that were just as nice!

What scale are Mantic miniatures?
Arent there supposed to be little round bases on the models that fit into the square bases. How do you base these.
Nope- a lot of the newer plastics have done away with those integrated bases completely.
What mdf bases would fit these
How many do you want to put on a base, and how deep?
why have a hole in the bases?
Originally most Mantic plastic models have an integrated base. You would just pop them on their and be done, much like historical gaming models.
Mantic's moved away from that, but the molds were already made and work pretty well as it is. Seems silly to change it now!
