I grew up just outside Chicago.
I was 9 years old when the Chicago Bulls drafted Michael Jordan.
I watched nearly every single game on TV, and I was fortunate enough to have gone to over 80 Live Bulls Games through his Rookie Season all the way to the 6th Championship/2nd Three-peat.
I went to watch this Movie Opening Weekend...
    It was PACKED!
It was PACKED in ALL 3 THEATERS that is was playing on!
It was one of the best Moviegoing experiences of my life!
    I LOVE Space Jam!

I was 7 years old and lived in Irving Park when the Bulls did their first three-peat. I'll never forget the anarchy in the street, watching it from my window at the top level of a 3-flat. This movie came out when I was 10 and it was all anyone would talk about. Wasn't able to see it in theatres but once it came out on VHS every kid practically destroyed their VCR playing this movie on a constant loop. As an adult, yeah I can say it's not the greatest movie, but it's right up there with the rest of Chicago film culture with the Billy Goat skit, Super Fans, and Blues Brothers.

This is probably my favourite episode ever, not only because Space Jam is one of my favourite movies. When it first released, I listened to it while taking down Christmas lights. I almost fell off the ladder laughing during Paul's Tasmanian Devil story.

Space Jam was filmed between three-peats, just after the 1995 season (which for MJ was the half-season he unretired into) that saw the Bulls knocked out of the play-offs. Warner Bros built him a court, on set, to which all-stars from around the league flocked. Legend holds that MJ used those hundreds of pick up games not only to get himself back in shape, but to scope the competition. If so, it worked. Bulls went 72-10 and won their 4th title in March of 1996. The film was released later that same year.

I'm a millennial that loves this movie but I know how bad some of it is lol. The soundtrack is kickass though.

They should really do the 2000s Space Jam.

NBA Jam was a major arcade game, ninetendo game, a sponsor of NBA All-Star weekend, and the nickname de jour of every weekend basketball tourney around the country.

Watching people ask questions (that have with answers) on stage and never getting to learn the anwsers is so wild.

I (A Gen X'er) also hate this movie and don't understand the love for it at all. I see it as the movie that prevented us from getting a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

56:48 Losing to a girls team IS emberassing, for a boys team. For a man's team, it's unthinkable. For Charles Barkley, it's just plain looney.
