I've been watching your videos one after another tonight and I learned *so much*. Thank you!! ❤
What!!!!!! A clear explanation.!!!!!!
Thank you so much.
I really love all your videos this is by far the best channel on audio equipments
Love your videos!
Hello Jordan! Your videos are immensely helpful. You explain everything very clearly. You do it very well and you also have a very pleasant voice. You are the best! 😎👌
This video was awesome. Thank you for giving out this information.
谢谢系统性的讲解,完全解答了我的问题。
love you!
You have the best video s
You’re the best
I dont know if this is right or not but I use rca to 1/4 inch on channel 1 & 2 on the yamaha mg10 and adjust the compression knobs. And it raises my volume and my bass. I discovered it by accident and still use it till this day.
My Dj controller and my mixer have only RCA outputs. I have an passive 2 in/out Passive DI BOX. What is the right way to setup my system? From the controller with sort Rca to the mixer and from the Rca output of the mixer to the DI BOX and from there with XLR's in my active speakers?
hy there ! I'v been looking for your videos sibce the begginning of my Dj mini carierr. Very usefull infos clear and easy to undestand videos! I like what you do. About this video i need your advice as an pro tech ! I have the follouing setup that i use: Hercules inpulse 500 controller (unbalanced output 6.3 jack) a mixer ( for now the Alto Zmx 862 main mix balanced or unbalanced 6.3 jack output) and from there active woofers (only balanced in/out) and active speakers that can handle balanced/unbalanced signal. I undestud that adding an active DI BOX after the controller the signal goes ballanced into the entire system, but it will that help increasing the overall strenght of the sound? (in the same gieven conditions, same settings) Does it makes a difference in sound Quality? I undestud that if a active speaker is built to work with balanced signal is better to use balanced signal for best performance, regardless of it's capacity to also handle unbalanced. Hope my english is good enough for you to undestand what i mean. Thanks alot! Respect
So i have flex4 as my dj controller and it can't produce the amount of signal i want in the club that i am working like ddj 1000 does, can i use a di box and connect to the djm800 that the club owns so i can boost up my signal? Djm800 has line inputs so i am afraid passive di wont do the trick
if I can work with a mixer just next to my controller, do I still need a DI box?
What if the speakers are RCA?
@ 5:20 - What if the DI box doesn’t have “left or right” and instead uses channels, like “channel 1, and channel 2” with only one 1/4” for each channel? Like the Behringer Ultra-DI DI20?
Would I just use a RCA to single 1/4” ? I would love some advice with this.
Your videos are very well made by the way !
Same ! I bought this DI DI20 and it doesnt work. I go from my FLX4. I have rca to 1/4’’, put it in the box and come out of it with rca to then put it in my PA system.
It doesn’t seem to work :(
how do you fix the hiss sound?
Hi so unfortunately that didn't work I tried switching my Powered PA Speaker to Mic Level got distortion only difference is I have an XLR to RCA Adapter and used an Instrument Guitar Cable from the input of the DI to my powered speaker. Is this right?
So what if your speakers don't have a switch from line to mic level? I'm using Rokit 8 monitors at home and even if I put them to maximum volume and the master on my DJ controller as well, the volume is still very low. Not much I can do about it I suppose?
I wish you could adjust at least the highs and lows on channels 3/4 and 5/6 on the Mackie unit...
There's many other mixers that have that function built in.
Question. What if the club's mixer has xlr outputs for mic and line? would I need to plug it in line or plug it into mic if I'm using a di box?
If you're connecting XLR from your DJ controller to the XLR inputs on the house audio mixer, you're fine. But if you're using the 1/4" or RCA outputs on your controller, you need a DI Box. Generally the club will provide one, though.
@@kettnercreative this didn't answer my question, but I went back in the video and it answered my question.
Sidebar, I ended up getting the Bolane Stereo DI-J22 active direct box and it works perfectly.
Many Thanks for this video! I was watching with big interes but my english is not good and i need to ask you something ..if i connect my controller to this mixer can i my controller only play the songs from it and the mixing itself is done on this mixer plus adding effects ? I hope the question is understood
No. Not a good use of the mixer. Do all mixing on your controller, use effects on the mixer with you mics (only!)
@@Aty3Studios thanks 🙏
in terms of sound quality, is it better to convert unbalanced rca output using a DI Box, or is it better to use an unbalanced rca to xlr cable without a DI Box? or is it the same sound quality? Thanks
You will have much higher reliability using a DI box or audio mixer and using as short of a RCA cable as possible.
RCA to XLR "Works", but you're going to notice static and interference at the worst possible time and it can be embarrassing at an event.
@@kettnercreative Thank you, appreciate it
what is the speaker product name?
Great video, thanks. If you be kind to answer 1 question.
What is best way to connect DJ controler FLX 10 to DI box and what box is best to use. Since output of flx 10 have
1 MASTER (XLR)
1 MASTER (RCA)
1 BOOTH (1/4 inch TRS Jack)
1 PHONES (1/4 inch stereo phone Jack)
3.5 mm stereo mini jack x 1
I want di box after my controller and before my external analog mixer from there i go to speakers.
Or should i go with shielded link cables like Vovox to secure connection between controler and analog mixer from interference?
I would skip the DI box all together. I would use a XLR cable to run to your audio mixer, then use a XLR to TRS adapter to go into the line level input on your analog audio mixer. Less expensive, same great result.
@@kettnercreative thank you for answer
The deck in the video had balanced XLR outputs, may I ask why would you use the RCA unbalanced outputs through a DI Box to connect to your speakers? Surely you would just connect the balanced XLR output to your XLR speaker input.
For sure. XLR is better to use in the real world. I wanted to make the video helpful for RCA people
What is the best way to hook up a DJ controller to the Yamaha MG10XU mixer would you recommend I use a DI Box if I already have the Yamaha MG10XU mixer
Check out this video, and it will show you everything you need to know: ua-cam.com/video/qOEwMu4Myh0/v-deo.html
@@kettnercreative Thanks that video was definitely informative Im now considering to purchase the Mackie you recommend in the Video
In regards to the ProFx ... the output of the Audio Mixer to your Speakers. Is there device you can connect similar to a DI Box to clean up any additional sound going to the speakers?
You shouldn’t need anything between your mixer and speakers. There isn’t anything ‘to clean up’, unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re asking?
No you answered my question … Thank you. I was curious since there are so many devices out there used to filter out unwanted noise, I thought that there may be one used as a filter between your speakers and mixer.
I also want to thank you as well for all the great content geared towards the DJ world.
Keep it coming !!
If your controller is connected to the mixer through an XLR cable and phantom power is turn on .. will a DI Box protect your controller?
@@dcclubhousemusic This is another reason to use the 1/4" Line Level Inputs on your audio mixer (like the video suggests). Phantom power only goes out through XLR, it isn't connected to the XLR inputs.
I have the Radial ProAV2. When I connect my Audio source to the DI box and my DI box to my mixer … Since I get a left and right signal out of my ProFx from a single XLR cable do I still need to connect a left and right xlr from the DI box to my mixer ?
i love you men
