They're bringing back what if sagas from the tenkaichi series. Remember even budokai 1 had what if sagas like Vegeta turning super saiyan in saiyan saga and Cell accidentally absorbing Krillin. So Goku turning Super Saiyan against Great Ape Vegeta is likely a What if saga scene so Yeah what if sagas are coming back.
