Hi, I have the Buchardt s400 mk2 speakers on order and should be delivered soon, Do you think the Leak stereo 230 would be a good pairing for them?, I am looking for a new amp as the one I have at the moment I think will not be powerful enough for my new speakers and I love the old school look of the Leak plus I note that it has an HDMI arc input on it, I would be grateful for any feedback.
That will be a very fine pairing. The neutral / forward sound from S400s will match the Stereo 230's warm sound just perfectly - and it got more than enough power for the buchardts. :)

I wonder if you can see the electrolytic capacitors through the upper ventilation grill. Could you see how many there are? 2 capacitors 1 per channel or 4 capacitors 2 per channel? thank you
in the advertising of some magazines it is said that there are only 2 capacitors of 15,000uf 1 for each channel but of course they do not have it yet in their hands..... it may be a mistake since the leak 130 mounted that 2 capacitors of 15000uf and the lerak 230, which is more powerful, should mount at least 4, maybe with a flashlight it can be seen..... thank you very much!!!!!!@@Audiophilesdoteu
@@see1953 it is possible that it has the same capacitors although the audiolab n8 supplies 75w at 8 and 110w at 4 and the leak 75w at 8 and 115w at 4 Do you have the leak 230? Can you see the capacitors through the vent?
The heat sink hole of the Leak Stereo 230 is very small, and only two relatively large capacitors are visible. I think the leak stereo 230 and the Audiolab n8 amplifier should be very similar, they belong to the same group!
It is a very good combo, probably the best so far. I've had the 130 at an earliere point, that was too weak for the Linton's. The Stereo 230 is on another level. Compared to: Hegel H120, PMA1600NE, Roksan Attessa, Technics SU-C700 - Stereo 230 is the clear winner when combo'd with Linton's. Haven't tried the 9000A yet, but will do at some point.

I this room it works better with the tweeter the other way around. In my living room it definitely works better inwards. So it is definitely depending on the room :)

Yes. My two inch laptop speakers capture it all! /s If Leak still made speakers, is it reasonable to suppose they would make something like the Linton 85th Anniversary?
How can you tell? You’re listening to the microphone and recording equipment, digital compression, then whatever you have at your end for playback. What on earth was the point of this video? 😂😂
@@jerrypowers7671 🤣 I was thinking the same. I haven' t listened to Cerwen Vegas in many years. A friend had a pair. You could hear those things at two blocks away walking up to his house. Not my personal cup of tea at all but, I think some today would enjoy them. As long as the neighbors don't mind. 😂

I see you have these pretty close to back wall. I am looking at buying these but most reviews say meter away from wall. Your thoughts please. Cheers

If you wanted to add 2 subwoofers to this setup, would the leak 230 play them sufficiently?
Proper subwoofers are active and have been for over 20 years. The amplifier has a preamp output, so it would pair well with any subwoofer or two.

It is recommended that the tweeter goes inwards, do you think that the sound is better this way (tweeter towards the outside)?

Maybe you need some Cerwin Vega speakers and a Crown Amp?
