- The Great Britain Rail-tour is now in its 15th year!
I decided to film Day 2 with 45596 'Bahamas' on a solo run from Bristol to Llandudno Jn. via the Welsh Marches all on its own!
There wasn't a diesel at the rear which was wonderful!
This had run behind or in front of Bahamas.,
My first shot see's 'Bahamas' storming up Llanvihangel at a new location I found.
The second location was the other side of Hereford water stop at Wistanstow. Another new location for me.
'Bahamas' performed magnificently as it flew along the Welsh Marches.
Also, Black 5 44932 was on the Welsh Marches (LE) returning from Day 1 of the GBXV. This loco stood in for the advertised 35018 'British India Line' taking the GBXV from London Paddington to Plymouth & returning to Bristol.
I videoed 44932 passing Ludlow Racecourse on its return to Carnforth Steamtown.
Nice to see Bahamas working hard on a railtour
A super video of the GBXV rail tour and loco movements. Nice introduction too from our farmland friends. :-)
Thank you very much Allan, very much appreciated, Geraint
Very nice video, thumbs up :)
Thank you👍
I’ve seen 44932 for the first time ever at earlswood at the beginning of this month and this loco like 46115 also a first time Stratford visitor
Great shots, also captured her too!
Thank you it was a great day wasn't it?
Brilliant to see 45596 in work
👍
Fantastic coverage Ger, just how it should be, a powerful loco in excellent condition, and not a diesel in sight. Went to Bromfield Box many years ago, and met a Signalman named 'Elvis Presley'....Best wishes...Bob
Thank you Bob. Theres nothing like mainline steam is there? I remember many years ago you telling me about Elvis the Signalman, it came back to me when I read your msg. Geraint
