Haney was holding himself up for dear life by Ryan’s waist multiple times while dazed and the ref didn’t even rule it as a knock down. Basically every time Ryan got the upper hand the ref stopped it and made them break up.

Watching this fight back it’s kinda crazy how desperate Ryan looked trying to land the left. He eventually did but rounds 2-6 he was throwing a left hook every other second 😂

That left hook was part of the game plan. Ryan and Derrick James saw how relatively easy Lomanchenko closed the gap on Haney and broke through his defense. They did their homework. That hook is devastating and given that Haney was susceptible to it , it only made logical common sense for Garcia to look to land it again especially given how Haney reacted to it. Garcia was also throwing his right as a decoy to keep Haney guessing and to get in the range and it worked perfectly. Garcia is sturdy and can take a punch just as good as Ray Leonard, Delahoya and Trinidad used to in their primes. His Jab was working beautifully by the middle rounds and that right hand set things up beautifully as far as distance and it kept Haney honest. This was a well earned victory for Garcia and no, 3 pounds had nothing to do with this.
That’s Ryan’s game plan the whole fight to land the left hook lol that’s his favorite/strongest punch. All Haney had to do is make him miss it the whole fight But his shii got rocked

Definitely gotta hand it to Haney he’s got mad heart to not only keep getting back up but to keep fighting most boxers don’t get back up after taking the shots Ryan landed on Haney, and if they manage to get back to their feet they damn sure aren’t in any condition to continue.
